More to come tomorrow!

I am sorry to admit it but I worked on getting a shipment of books ready during the conference. James has been bugging me about it and I figured I better get it done. I was still able to listen to almost all of the talks. I did miss some in the priesthood session.

My book shipment was supposed to be one box weighing 50 lbs. but Amazon split it into three shipments going 3 different places. I had to find 2 more boxes and the shipping costs more. I'm not sure why they do this unless it is to drive people like me crazy!

We got the three boxes ready and after the afternoon session of conference James took off for town to the UPS store. Imagine his surprise when he arrived and there was a sign on the door: "Sorry for the inconvenience but we are closed today."  Grrr. Well, hopefully they were home watching conference.

We heard lots of rumors about changes to be made during conference.
1. Choice of 18 months or 24 months to serve a mission.
2. Approving coffee and tea. After all, they aren't any worse than coke or energy drinks. (Wishful thinking on the part of some people on this one).
3. We are only going to be asked to wear our garments in the temple. I laughed when Trina told me this one. I said, "How can they be a shield and a protection to us if we don't wear them?"

After James watched the priesthood session. I started watching the new Hallmark movie, "True Love Blooms." I am sorry to say I fell asleep before it was over.

President Eyring gave my favorite talk today. The entire first session was great. The bishop wants us to change whatever talk we were using on April 28th, both Relief Society and Elder's Quorum and used Elder Holland's talk from this conference. All righty then.

The road to our house is difficult, especially
after it snows or rains.

 A little southern belle.

This is so sweet. The child has been taught well.
Good job Autumn and Palmer!

Poor sweetie has a rash. Probably from the
antibiotic she is on for her ear infection.

I love this picture!

Another one of those great talks!

 So pretty!

James's new pets.

Elder Uchtdorf's talk gave five suggestions
for being better missionaries.

Gonzo's at the new Marvel movie.
(I hope that's right)

My movie for the evening

What? I know I had over 10,000 steps!
I've been robbed!

Jesus Christ, Davidic descent of
Psalm 89:4
Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
Book of Mormon #1
3 Nephi 14:1-27
*What fundamental truths do we learn from Christ's teachings in these verses? How will you incorporate these important teachings into your life?
- Stop judging, extend love, follow the Savior's example. Verse 7 - Pray for others and for answers. Verse 12 - Live the Golden Rule. Beware of false prophets. Build our foundation upon the rock of Christ and when the storm comes we will stand strong.
Book of Mormon #2
Mosiah 5-7
Old Testament
Ezekiel 3-4
General Conference
Choose You This Day
Elder Dale G. Renlund
"The magnitude of our eternal happiness depends on choosing the living God and joining Him in His work."

I felt the Spirit as I was reading Mosiah 5 this morning.
We left for church at 8:40 but not receiving pictures of Charlie. Kacey and Jared are speaking in their ward today. I wish we could be there!

I'm dressed up. Oh no, that means the car seat!

Talon is leaving for Uganda this week. He spoke in church today, from the heart, without notes, about the Atonement and service. He is going to be an amazing missionary. Jackson was there to support him.

Bishop Miller spoke about gratitude and how important it is to have an attitude of gratitude at all times.

President Beeler spoke about the great missionaries who have served from the Vernon ward. He mentioned Jackson and his worthiness to serve.

We sat by the Howard's during sacrament meeting and I went to Sunday School with them. Sister Wood taught a lesson about strengthening the stakes of Zion based on the words of Isaiah.

Sister Curtis taught in Relief Society. A lesson on ministering based on Elder Holland's April conference talk, "Be With and Strengthen Them."

James taught about Job in his Primary class.
I gave two closing prayers today. One in Sunday School and one in Relief Society.

We had leftover roast beef, a salad, and glazed carrots for lunch. I can't stop snacking afterwards!

I watched the new Hallmark Christmas movies, "Christmas at Pemberly Manor" based on the characters Elizabeth Bennet and William Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. It was good. I also watched one of my very favorite Christmas movies called, "Angels and Ornaments." An angel comes back and steers his granddaughter to her true love. A good Sunday movie. Is that my attempt at rationalizing.

I did lots of gospel study today. I love the Sabbath.

 I love this picture!

Babies are being born everywhere!

The Luke's are our friends from Chandler.

What a sweet picture of our Prophet and his wife!

Another sweet couple!

I don't normally walk on Sunday but
I guess I needed it today.

Jesus Christ, Birth of
Alma 7:10
And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.
Book of Mormon
Alma 4:5-20
*Why did Alma step down as chief judge?
- There were members of the Church who were proud and materialistic, and who were persecuting others. The contentions were taking a toll on new members. Alma stepped down so he could spend his time preaching the word of God and bearing testimony to the people to help them remember their blessings, and to build up their spirituality.
Old Testament
2 Samuel 17-18
17 Ahithophel's counsel is overthrown by Hushai's - David is warned and flees over the Jordan - Ahithophel hands himself - The people prepare for war.
18 The Israelites are smitten in the woods of Ephraim - Joab slays Absalom - Tidings of his death are taken to David, who mourns for his son.
General Conference
His Spirit to be With You
President Henry B. Eyring
"My brothers and sisters, I am grateful for the opportunity to speak to you on the Lord's Sabbath, in the general conference of His Church, at this Easter season. I thank our Heavenly Father for the gift of His Beloved Son, who came voluntarily to earth to be our Redeemer. I am grateful to know that He atoned for our sins and rose in the Resurrection. Every day I am blessed to know that, because of His Atonement, I may someday be resurrected to live forever in a loving family."

FHE:
Small and Simple Things
President Dallin H. Oaks
"I am grateful to speak to this audience on Easter Sunday. Today we join other Christians in celebrating the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ is a pillar of our faith."

James went to unload his truck this morning and re-load it because he said the load was unbalanced. It took him a couple of hours. I stayed at Darrel and Trina's and ate minestrone soup and a breadstick for breakfast.

When James returned we loaded up my car and headed for home.
Well actually we headed for Fry's. James got gas in his truck and I went inside to get kale, spinach, frozen pineapple chunks and bananas and salted caramel Larabar bites. James left before I was finished shopping and I never caught up with him, but that's ok.

Oh I forgot that I also got some Booma Chika Popcorn and ate it most all of the way home. I stopped at the Walmart in Globe to look for a 4x4 Rubik's cube for Zemira. It's his birthday today. No luck.

I got home around noon, of course James was already home. I put things away and noticed the stove was dirty, and so I cleaned it. The dishwasher was full so I emptied it. It was filled with my Christmas dishes. Why didn't Adam and his friends use the clear plates in the slates? Where did they get the Christmas plates from. I think they were downstairs in the years supply room.
This is the after picture of the grill
I should have taken a before.

When I finished unloading the dishwasher I went into the laundry room. I opened the dryer and there were three big quilts stuffed inside. None of them were dry and the dryer was sitting cockeyed on top the washer. I am not sure why Adam and his friends thought they had to wash the quilts.

When I walk through the living-family room I notice big dusty footprints all over the floor. When I go upstairs two of the fans are on. In spite of all this I am glad Adam and his friends came. They left us the sweetest note. That makes everything worthwhile.

James sat down to figure out how much money he was going to make on the job he just finished. He came up with the figure of $11,000 which is great except for the fact that we have to fix the Howard's Cat and the lowest bid so far is $16,000.

I walked outside this evening and there were ten bunnies on the lawn. It's so nice in the evenings this time of year.

Zemira's birthday present came. It's a 3x3 Megaminx Speed Cube.

I also got him a regular Rubik's cube and ordered a 4x4 if he wants to trade.

James went to deliver the gift this evening but he didn't get to see Zemira because he was playing raquetball in Show Low with his dad and Talon. Later Zemira called and thanked us for his gifts.
While James was there Johnny, Zemira's five year old brother, went out and showed James their two baby ravens they caught. Johnny has heard the stories about Pete the Crow. James said to him that they looked like crows to him and Johnny says: "No they are ravens. My grandpa is a biologist and he says they are ravens."
Well how can you argue with that. Of course James is a biologist too.

When James got home we read from "The Stars Over Northumberland."

Summer and her date.

An old photo of downtown Chandler.

Happened to me once at the Chandler IHOP
when the station was playing Annette's
Pineapple Princess. Not even a popular song
but I had the album because I was a huge
Annette fan.

Most fires start on Memorial Day weekend.

This temple will be closed for 2 1/2 years

Jesus Christ Atonement through
1 Peter 2:21
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Book of Mormon
Ether 10:1-16
Ether 10:5-7 describes the reign of King Riplakish. His wicked reign and his fall were very similar to the reign and fall of wicked King Noah(see Mosiah 11).
*How can we ease others burdens and build them up?

General Conference
The Book of Mormon: What Would Your Life Be Like Without It?
President Russell M. Nelson
"The Book of Mormon provides the fullest and most authoritative understanding of the Atonement of Jesus Christ to be found anywhere. It teaches what it really means to be born again. From the Book of Mormon we learn about the gathering of scattered Israel. We know why we are here on earth. These and other truths are more powerfully and persuasively taught in the Book of Mormon than in any other book. The full power of the gospel of Jesus Christ is contained in the Book of Mormon."

Well, I am sick again. I basically stayed on the couch most of the day except for when I made egg salad sandwiches for James for lunch.

I am keeping alive by eating Rosa's tamales and Kathy's cinnamon bread. Kaeli and Natalie also brought me cookies and Rice Crispy treats.

Today is the first day of the new Star Wars movie, "The Last Jedi." I guess it's a good thing that I am not a Star Wars fan because I will not be going.

This is the Star Wars I remember.

James did some decorating this evening. He brought out his favorite Christmas decoration, our nativity. He also worked on my favorite decoration, the tree.

James also finished the fire pit and patio today:
