I made Darrel eggs with some funeral potatoes I had in the frig.  I had breakfast with him and it was quite delicious.  James was still in the bedroom when Darrel left.  He is going home to Mesa this evening.

James and I started a new Sarah Eden book today called "Seeking Persephone."  Hopefully it will be as good as the others we have read.

It is always nice to have James here.  When we are here together it seems as if everything is right in the world.  While he was in Chandler he cut down one of our mulberry trees that had died.  He brought the wood home with him and added it to our woodpile.  I can hardly wait to get our fireplace insert so we can start using it.

This picture was taken about 13 years ago.
The little guy is James Hayden.  I don't know where
Ben was.
We had cows in our yard this evening.  Normally James would have chased them away but he thought there might be elk nearby and he didn't want to scare them.  He blows his elk horn and the cows scatter.

We both took a long nap this afternoon.  Afterwards I worked on my blog.  Blogging makes me feel like I've done something that will last.

James grilled steak for dinner and I made a salad, some potatoes and green beans.  Afterwards we watched Sue Thomas.

Rowan got to go to Disneyland and California Adventure with his grandma and grandpa Case.

Today is a celebration of Darrel & Trina's family.
They recently had this family photos done
and Trina posted them on Facebook.

I had an appointment with Joyce Malone this afternoon, so this morning I made another batch of pumpkin bread and put it in the oven to cook one hour.  Instead of 350 I actually put it on 250 and it fell big time in the middle.  It's edible but not presentable to give someone else.  I had to start all over and make another batch.  I called to say I would be about 30 minutes late but went with a warm loaf of pumpkin bread to present the lesson on the Savior being the Bread of Life.

Joyce will be 67 tomorrow so I also brought her lotion and body scrub and an Ensign magazine.  She is a new member and just got her first calling to be a member of the Relief Society activities committee.  She is very excited about her calling.

I came home to take a nap but ended up talking to Stacy on the phone.  She was pretty down.  I'm afraid I didn't do much to lift her up, but at least I was a listening ear.

Enjoyed watching several episodes of the Trisha Yearwood cooking show while I paid bills.

James got home around 9pm with burros from Burger House.  I had made a pork roast with rice and corn for dinner.  I guess we can have burros tomorrow.

When I went to bed our internet usage according to the Verizon app on my phone was at 16%.  When I woke up this morning it was at 23%.  How can that be?
I love pink clouds!

Darrel is leaving about 45 minutes earlier than he used to.  I was still able to fix his breakfast:scrambled eggs, toast, and pumpkin  bread

This afternoon I shortened the two new blouses I bought online from JC Penney's.  Everything I buy is too long.  I wore one of them to Mutual tonight.

We had to be at Mutual at 6pm.  The girls are making skirts.  Ruth Wilhelm is in charge.  Those attending: Leaders/adults - Ruth Wilhelm, Diana Curtis, Rosie Lauritzen, Rosa Westbrook, Tamara Applegate, Stefani Hunsaker, and me.  Girls/young women - Alice, Kyah, Heaven, LeeAnn, Kilee, Hope, Kelly, Jordyn and Shelly.  Trenda is helping with homecoming preparations tonight.  Just for the record, she is making her own prom dress.
Young women and activity day girls make a pyramid.

Kilee watching her mom and Ruth work on her skirt.

Hope and Heaven we here tonight but Winna is still not doing very well.  She went to the Springerville hospital today to get some fluids and is in Nutrioso with her mom tonight.

I came home and made a batch of chili so Darrel would have something to eat when he got home from work.  I am always in bed before he gets here.  I finished watching the movie "Beau Jest."

I made pumpkin bread this morning.  A loaf for Mary Swift whom I am visiting today and one for me to try just to make sure it is okay.  It is okay, in fact, it's delicious!!

My visit with Mary was short but sweet.  I had Mary in Young Women's so we already have a good relationship.  She works at Walmart and I haven't seen her at church lately.  She is a sweet girl, but I do worry about her testimony and desire to keep the commandments.  She seemed excited about the pumpkin bread.

The weather here has been gorgeous!  I was going to say this picture was taken at Buckelew Springs but that wouldn't be true.  I don't know where it was taken but I like it because of the fall colors.
I made a trip into town after my visit with Mary.  I washed my car which was looking pretty dirty.  I went to Walmart and then to Licano's to get carne asada burros, one for me and one for Darrel.  They were yummy!

I chased cows this morning and then again this afternoon.  They just don't get it.

I talked on the phone to Sheri for about an hour today.  She calls every week or so just to check on me and have a nice chat.  I look forward to those calls.

I watched "The Voice" and "Chopped Ultimate Champion".  Because I don't live in the valley I missed Joe's Choir performance tonight.  It's one of the things I miss about living in Chandler.
I heard it was great.

Another beautiful sunset.
I got this one while out chasing the cows away.

I forgive others who have
offended or wronged me.
Ephesians 4:32
I try to understand others
and their point of view
Jude 1:22

James went to the hospital this afternoon for a cats scan.  He won't know the results for several days.  We finished our book, "Longing for Home."  Although it had some very sad elements to it, the ending was good except for one small detail: we never found out what happened to the bad guy.

James did some things for me today.  He put the carpet back in place downstairs in the storage room/closet where we had the flood.  He also did some edging around the front of the house.  It look's so much better!

While paying bills today I listened to a BYU devotional talk by Elder Donald L. Hallstrom entitled: "The Heart and a Willing Mind."  I went online and downloaded it because it was so good!

James went out elk calling this afternoon.
A bull and his harem

Here are some of the things I accomplished today:
I called my friend Charlotte Mattice and wished her a happy birthday.
I made a doctor's appointment with Sheri's doctor, Dr. Allen for November 10th.
I made a visiting teaching appointment with Mary Swift for tomorrow afternoon.

This evening James and I watched an episode of Sue Thomas.  It was the one where Bobby goes undercover as an Elvis impersonator.
Trina went to work today for the first time since
Lola was born.  These two are together most of the time
so I am sure it was quite a shock for both of them.
Darrel did say that Lola did pretty well all things considered.

Christlike Attributes:
"Hope"
I firmly believe that I
will dwell with God
and become like Him
Ether 12:4
One of my greatest desires
is to inherit eternal life
Moroni 7:41

This morning before church I studied the Sunday School lesson from the book of Isaiah entitled: "Thou Hast Done Wonderful Things."  I also made chocolate lasagna for tonight's dessert.  We are having Harold, Vickie, Dennis, and Denise over for dinner.

The Smith's, Wes and Teresa, reported on their mission to Colby, Kansas.  Teresa told of a woman who was born and raised in Kansas and had lived there all her life.  This woman spoke with a British accent.  When Teresa asked how this could be the woman told her she had fallen down the stairs and hit her head and had spoke with the accent ever since.  She said: "They have tried to get me to speak like a Kansas hick, but nothing works."

It was raining when we got out of church today.

After church and lunch our home teachers, Collin DeWitt and Chuck Crane came for a visit.  Afterwards James went to take a nap.  I started working in the kitchen.  The roast was already in and the desserts were made.  I made mashed potatoes, rolls, and James helped with the salad. We also had corn and asparagus.

Although we enjoyed visiting with my brothers and their wives, I have decided these dinners need to be on Saturday instead of Sunday.  I am upset that I didn't take any pictures! Vickie did give me this picture:
Monte's girls: Madison & Kaytlynn
Harold and Vickie have retired from their Dishnetwork business.
Brian and Cher left for their new home in Vancouver, Washington this week.
Dennis and Denise our going to Del Rio, Texas this week for Lizzie's baptism.  Lizzie is Jenifer's third daughter.
I am grateful to James.  While I was visiting he cleaned the kitchen and did all of the dishes.

After everyone was gone I made a visit to Julie Wilhelm to take her the visiting teaching message.  She will be gone this week and I will be gone the next week.  She said I was the first visiting teacher she has ever had that actually made a visit.  How sad.

James left around 5:30 this morning for a priesthood service project.  He met with other members in our ward at Randy Nicolls
business in Springerville.  Brother Nicolls sells logs and he said our ward could have 6 cords of scraps to use as firewood for the widows in our ward. Trenda, Talon, and Alice Wilhelm were there to help as were Tyler and Colter Hunsaker.
Colter and his dad  James said he never stopped
working.  He is six years old.

I posted pictures of all the youth who helped.

As soon as James got home he fixed himself some eggs with meatloaf hash and then went in to lie down.  I think he hurt his back and ankle.

I spent the afternoon getting ready for dinner with the missionaries.  I baked a cake, made baked beans, scalloped potatoes, and a salad.  When it got to be 5:30 and they hadn't arrived I tried to call but only got voicemail.  I left a message and then called Sister Scott.  She assured me they would probably be their very soon.  We waited until after 6 and then James got a call from Elder Stott.  Elder Stott said they were told they had dinner with the Lauritzen's.  James and I ended up eating dinner alone.
 Where are our expected guests?
