Jesus Christ, Davidic descent of
Psalm 89:4
Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
Book of Mormon #1
3 Nephi 14:1-27
*What fundamental truths do we learn from Christ's teachings in these verses? How will you incorporate these important teachings into your life?
- Stop judging, extend love, follow the Savior's example. Verse 7 - Pray for others and for answers. Verse 12 - Live the Golden Rule. Beware of false prophets. Build our foundation upon the rock of Christ and when the storm comes we will stand strong.

Choose You This Day
Elder Dale G. Renlund
"The magnitude of our eternal happiness depends on choosing the living God and joining Him in His work."

I felt the Spirit as I was reading Mosiah 5 this morning.
We left for church at 8:40 but not receiving pictures of Charlie. Kacey and Jared are speaking in their ward today. I wish we could be there!

I'm dressed up. Oh no, that means the car seat!

Talon is leaving for Uganda this week. He spoke in church today, from the heart, without notes, about the Atonement and service. He is going to be an amazing missionary. Jackson was there to support him.

Bishop Miller spoke about gratitude and how important it is to have an attitude of gratitude at all times.

President Beeler spoke about the great missionaries who have served from the Vernon ward. He mentioned Jackson and his worthiness to serve.

We sat by the Howard's during sacrament meeting and I went to Sunday School with them. Sister Wood taught a lesson about strengthening the stakes of Zion based on the words of Isaiah.

Sister Curtis taught in Relief Society. A lesson on ministering based on Elder Holland's April conference talk, "Be With and Strengthen Them."

James taught about Job in his Primary class.
I gave two closing prayers today. One in Sunday School and one in Relief Society.

We had leftover roast beef, a salad, and glazed carrots for lunch. I can't stop snacking afterwards!

I watched the new Hallmark Christmas movies, "Christmas at Pemberly Manor" based on the characters Elizabeth Bennet and William Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. It was good. I also watched one of my very favorite Christmas movies called, "Angels and Ornaments." An angel comes back and steers his granddaughter to her true love. A good Sunday movie. Is that my attempt at rationalizing.

I did lots of gospel study today. I love the Sabbath.

 I love this picture!

Babies are being born everywhere!

The Luke's are our friends from Chandler.

What a sweet picture of our Prophet and his wife!

Another sweet couple!

I don't normally walk on Sunday but
I guess I needed it today.

Atonement
Helaman 5:9
O remember, remember, my sons, the words which king Benjamin spake unto his people; yea, remember that there is no other way nor means whereby man can be saved, only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, who shall come; yea, remember that he cometh to redeem the world.
Jesus Christ, Antemortal Existence of:
3 Nephi 1:13
Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow came I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfil all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.
Alma 53:18-54:12
What can we learn from the stripling warriors courage?
*The lesson I learn from the stripling warriors is that sometimes there are challenges in this life that we have to face, that we really don't want to face. If we go with courage, with faith in God, and with obedience to His commandments, we need not fear. The end result will be a blessing to us. - capew on Instagram
DC 121:34-46
How does one come to be chosen?
*By being righteous (see verse 36). By persuasion, long-suffering, gentleness and meekness, by love unfeigned, by kindness, and pure knowledge. (v. 41-42). Full of charity, having the Holy Ghost as our constant companion. (v. 45-46).

Don't Look Around, Look Up!
Elder Yoon Hwan Choi
Elder Choi's father said to him when he was discouraged:
"Do not lose your faith because of the people around you, but build a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Don't look around, look up!"
"Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, feat not."
DC 6:36

Other gospel study: The Family Proclamation, the Living Christ, and my Primary lesson.

James left this morning on the Razr to pick up his wildlife camera. He was gone about three hours. I was beginning to worry. He came back and said it was raining on the mountain.

I had an appointment with Dr. Moffat today to discuss my thyroid. He says according to my labs I have too much thyroid and that has the same symptoms as having too little. He asked if I was tired and I said yes. Am I hot when everyone else is cold? Yes! He told me to only take 195 mg. instead of 260 mg. Hopefully I will start feeling better!
Next stop, Aliberto's for tacos. I am addicted.

Stacy had good news about Jared Ammon today. He agreed to go to rehab again. I also texted with Jared about his kids today.
Stacy also said that she feels like the Lord is watching over her. Her bishop called her in and asked what he could do for her. When she asked what he meant he said: "I have not been able to stop thinking about you for several days now."

For FHE James and I listened to Sister Joy D. Jones's talk, "A Sin-Resistant Generation." Afterwards we watched the newest Garage Sale Mystery/Medieval.

Eclipse Mania

I wonder if he knows he needs to go
outside to see the eclipse.

Most schools let the kids go outside to watch.
Rowan even got to be on the news!

3 Nephi 20
Jesus provides bread and wine miraculously and again administers the sacrament unto the people; The remnant of Jacob will come to the knowledge of the Lord their God and will inherit the Americas; Jesus is the prophet like unto Moses, and the Nephites are children of the propehts; Others of the Lord's people will be gathered to Jerusalem. *What are you willing to "bury" to repent and follow the savior and keep your testimony "bright"?
DC 93:44-53
41-53, The leading brethren are commanded to set their families in order.
How has prayer helped me in my life? (See Elder Grow's quote below.)
General Conference
And This Is Life Eternal
Elder C. Scott Grow
" When you pray with faith, you will feel God's love as His Spirit speaks to your soul. No matter how alone or uncertain you may feel at times, you are not alone in this world. God knows you, personally. As you pray, you will come to know Him."

That Our Light May Be a Standard for the Nations
Elder Benjamin De Hoyos
" The continual holding of general conference is one of the greatest testimonies to the fact that we as Latter-day Saints 'believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.' (AofF9).
I testify that by learning 'line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little' and by hearkening to our leaders' counsel, we will have oil for our lamps that will enable us to give light unto others as the Lord commanded us."

I had an appointment with Hailey C. today for visiting teaching. She cancelled because Huntleigh was sick and she was taking her to the doctor. I prayed and asked Heavenly Father what I could do for her and the thought came, "make her cookies."  I ask if I could meet her at the Dollar General and bring her a treat. She said yes. I made two dozen chocolate chip cookies for her and met her in the parking lot with the cookies and a quote from the lesson about the priesthood.  I hoped I could say hi to Taylor and Braylin but they are in California on a vacation with grandma Virginia. They went to Harry Potter World, the aquarium, and the beach. Sounds like fun.

We picked up a bed frame for our kingsized be at Denver Mattress today. It even fit in my car! Now we just need to go home and put the bed, bed frame, box springs, and headboard all together.

La Casita re-opened!  We had dinner there. James got a green chili burro enchilada style. I got a chicken enchilada with red sauce and a beef taco. I hate to say it La Casita but I like Aliberto's tacos better.

When I get back home I know I should be cleaning somewhere but I am just too tired. I work on my blog instead.

Goodbye El Paso.
Today was Jared's last day at this practice.

Alex and his friend Carter are off to Europe.

Trina and her mom were taking the kids to
Fossil Springs when Trina blew a tire. These
guys came to the rescue. Addy said they got to
spend $10 at Walmart instead of Fossil Springs
thanks to Grandma Suzie.

Patrick and Heather have an open adoption with all of their kids.
This is Bailey and her birth mother.

Lola helping Max count his soldiers at
Peter Piper Pizza last week.

A few years back we took these kids to the
Go-Karts in Lakeside. Addy was upset because
Grandpa and Rowan's car was the fastest.
She got stuck with slow grandma.
