Jesus Christ, King
Moses 7:53
And the Lord said: Blesses is he through whose seed Messiah shall come; for he saith - I am Messiah, the King of Zion, the Rock of Heaven, which is broad as eternity;whoso cometh in at the gate and climbeth up by me shall never fall; wherefore, blessed are they of whom I have spoken, for they shall come forth with songs of everlasting joy.

"United in Accomplishing God's Work"
Jean B. Bingham
"As children were born to them, Adam and Eve taught their family what they had learned from heavenly messengers. They were focused on helping their children also understand and embrace those principles that would make them happy in this life, as well as prepared to return to their heavenly parents after having increased their abilities and proved their obedience to God. In the process, Adam and Even learned to appreciate their differing strengths and supported one another in their eternally significant work."

"Covenants"

After finishing my blog for the day and reading scriptures and saying prayers with James, I began working on preparing my books for shipment. I took the ones that needed labels removed into the laundry room where with a wet rag, a hot iron and a removal spatula I was taking the old labels off. James came in and announced he was going in to town to get a new tire for the Cat. I panicked. I said, but I need to take my books in and I'm not ready. I don't want us to make two trips to town again today. He asked me to hurry and get ready to go. I told him I needed his help. He took over the job of removing stickers while I got ready to go, and prepared the shipment information online. I was having James put the books in the box and getting it ready to go when I realized I had not put stickers on the books yet. I yelled "STOP"! I came in with the labels and began taking the books out of the box and putting labels on them. James then put in packing paper and sealed up the box while I went to print the outside label for the box. I was amazed how quickly we got all of this done. Two heads, and bodies, really are better than one!

We dropped the old Cat tire off at Robert's Tires and picked up the new one on the way back. James dropped me off at the far end of the Walmart parking lot while he went to the UPS Store and Home Depot. He was just finished at Home Depot when I called him and asked him to pick me up at Walmart, which he did. We had wanted to go to Firehouse Subs but he said the line was way too long. We were hungry but I didn't care where we went. James chose KFC because we both like their coleslaw. We ordered a large container of coleslaw, James ordered a three piece meal and I ordered three chicken tenders. It cost us $20. That's our eating out for the week. So expensive. I think we should have gone to Taco Bell or waited to eat until we got home.

They had no Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches at Walmart. I do not like the Great Value ice cream sandwiches so I asked James if we could go to Safeway and see if they had any Skinny Cows. They did not, but James got us a nice watermelon. He also got me some mochi ice cream, mango flavored. He really shouldn't have. I can't eat just one and they are 100 calories a pop. I ate all six of them before the day was over.

Tasty!
An addiction food I can't keep in my house,
very often at least.

After Safeway it was back to Robert's Tire and then home. We started reading our new Aunt Dimity book, "Aunt Dimity and the Summer King." We stopped at the post office and mailed Ruby's panda mask for her birthday and picked up a book. I was so glad to finally be home. Show Low is a rat race in the summer time. I am grateful for the peace and quiet of Vernon.

It's my turn to choose the study topic for our family study group this week. I chose the topic "Covenants." Here are the talks I chose, there are five of them. It's hard to narrow them down.

1. "Always Remember Him"
 Elder Ulisses Soares
BYU Speeches
February 5, 2019

2. "The Transformative Power of Covenants"
Ellie L. Young
BYU Speeches
June 11, 2019

3. "Look Unto Jesus Christ"
Elder Kim B. Clark
April 2019 GenCon

4. "Children of the Covenant"
Russell M. Nelson

5. "The Power, Joy, and Love of Covenant"
Linda K. Burton
October 2013 GenCon

Sheri called this afternoon saying she needed two new air conditioning units and it was going to cost her $30,000. I told her dad was taking a nap but he would call her and they could discuss her options. She has had trouble every summer with her air conditioning units. Wolf Mechanical installed them and their has always been a freon leak.

I went to bed at 10:00. I woke up at 12:24 and couldn't go back to sleep so I finally got up and wrote some of my thoughts down:
I am not truly happy in our present situation. We need to downsize. We have too much to take care of. James works so hard and he's always behind and down on himself for not being able to do everything. If we had less to take care of we could focus more on church and temple work. I am questioning my book business too. I want to work on my life story but I can't seem to find the time because of book biz. I feel a need to get our things in order.

After writing this down I finished some Book of Mormon study and went back to bed and slept like a baby.

Answers to Prayer
Brook P. Hales
"Brothers and sisters, sometimes our prayers are answered quickly with the outcome we hope for. Sometimes our prayers are not answered in the way we hope for, yet with time we learn that God had greater blessings prepared for s than we initially anticipated. And sometimes our righteous petitions to God will not be granted in this life As Elder Neal A. Maxwell said, ''Faith also includes trust in God's timing.'"

Books, "CFM", Pork Chops, Read, Railings, Steps

My total books sales is right at $8,000 for the year. I hope by the end of the year I will be over $10,00 and will be part of the five figure club. I listened to the webinar today with Jim, Herman, and Ricardo. I also started getting my shipment ready to send off. This evening James and I both found more books to buy.

I made creamy pork chops today in the crockpot. They were very delicious. James liked them too. This will be a repeat recipe.

Jif the pantry mouse is still avoiding the trap. One of these days he's going to slips up though. If you play with fire long enough you are bound to get burned.

I finished Aunt Dimity and the Duke and started Aunt Dimity Digs In I read to James from "Insights" and Aunt Dimity's Death.

James worked on the railings outside and when he was inside he worked on a remodeling bid for the people Armondo told him about. He says his thumb hurts. Another surgery he will probably have to have.

Watched a Chopped episode where part of the Brady Bunch cast were the judges: Peter, Cindy, and Marsha.

Jesus Christ, Glory of
Ezkiel 1:28
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day or rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

The Immediate Goodness of God
"I realize that sometimes life's experiences create confusion and turbulence that can make it difficult to receive or recognize relief. I have been through such times. I testify that, during such times, our mere preservation is a tender and powerful manifestation of the immediate goodness of God. Remember, ancient Israel was ultimately delivered 'by that same God who had preserved them' day to day."

We had prayer this morning before James left for the valley. He is going down to work on the door at Stacy's and to meet with some people about some remodeling. Armando did some landscaping for them and he gave them James's name.

As I looked out my bedroom window this morning I saw a woodpecker on the tree trunk where James has built two birdhouses. There was a bluebird dive bombing the woodpecker to get him off her tree. I guess she may have babies in one of those birdhouses. James says bluebirds nest two times a year, in the spring and the fall. The woodpecker moved to the other side of the tree but the bluebird kept dive bombing him. She was relentless.

I don't know how much more critters I can handle in my house. We just got rid of the bat and now I just saw a mouse in the pantry. This means war!

I finished Aunt Dimity's Good Deed and moved on to Aunt Dimity and the Duke. I now realize I should have read the duke one first.

Repricing took forever but it is totally worth it. I am selling so many books right after I reprice. I did only sell 3 books today though.

I heard from both Stacy and Sheri today and found out that Adam and Kaitlin won't be coming up this weekend.

It rained again today just enough for the car to get muddy when James got home from the valley. No green chili burros. Burger House was closed.

 Such a good little singer!

Can't you just see them as teenagers!

1 Nephi 11:7
And behold this thing shall be given unto thee for a sign, that after thou hast beheld the tree which bore the fruit which thy father tasted, thou shalt also behold a man descending out of heaven, and him shall ye witness; and after ye have witnessed him ye shall bear record that it is the Son of God.

Great Love for Our Father's Children
Elder Quentin L. Cook
"My purpose this morning is to emphasize the essential role of that kind of love in missionary work, temple and family history work, and home-centered, Church-supported family religious observance. Love of the Savior and love of our fellow men and women is the primary attribute and motive for ministering and the spiritual purposes we were charged to undertake by our beloved prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, in the adjustments announced in 2018."

I listened to the book webinar this morning and then bought all the books on my new Done For You ROI list.

James and I started a new book today, "To Win a Lady's Heart." This one is on my phone but it isn't audio. I read the prologue and James says, "This is the story I told in the first talk I ever gave in church when I was 12 years old." Now that is something I didn't expect to hear, especially when it was about a guy killing his dog because he thought the dog had killed his baby daughter when the dog had actually saved the baby daughter from a wolf. He said the talk was about self-control and not making hasty decisions.

For lunch today James and I made chicken enchiladas with white sauce. They were quite delicious. I used an old recipe I got from Carol Ray.

This afternoon we did something we don't normally do in the afternoon, we sat down together and watched a western movie on the Hallmark Drama channel. It was a western starring Luke Perry who was a traveling judge helping a girl running away from a guy who was trying to kill her. The bad guy was Ricky Schroeder.

It was sunny but windy today. It doesn't matter to me because I stayed indoors all day.

Choose You This Day
Elder Dale G. Renlund
"The magnitude of our eternal happiness depends on choosing the living God and joining Him in His work."

I felt the Spirit as I was reading Mosiah 5 this morning.
We left for church at 8:40 but not receiving pictures of Charlie. Kacey and Jared are speaking in their ward today. I wish we could be there!

I'm dressed up. Oh no, that means the car seat!

Talon is leaving for Uganda this week. He spoke in church today, from the heart, without notes, about the Atonement and service. He is going to be an amazing missionary. Jackson was there to support him.

Bishop Miller spoke about gratitude and how important it is to have an attitude of gratitude at all times.

President Beeler spoke about the great missionaries who have served from the Vernon ward. He mentioned Jackson and his worthiness to serve.

We sat by the Howard's during sacrament meeting and I went to Sunday School with them. Sister Wood taught a lesson about strengthening the stakes of Zion based on the words of Isaiah.

Sister Curtis taught in Relief Society. A lesson on ministering based on Elder Holland's April conference talk, "Be With and Strengthen Them."

James taught about Job in his Primary class.
I gave two closing prayers today. One in Sunday School and one in Relief Society.

We had leftover roast beef, a salad, and glazed carrots for lunch. I can't stop snacking afterwards!

I watched the new Hallmark Christmas movies, "Christmas at Pemberly Manor" based on the characters Elizabeth Bennet and William Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. It was good. I also watched one of my very favorite Christmas movies called, "Angels and Ornaments." An angel comes back and steers his granddaughter to her true love. A good Sunday movie. Is that my attempt at rationalizing.

I did lots of gospel study today. I love the Sabbath.

 I love this picture!

Babies are being born everywhere!

The Luke's are our friends from Chandler.

What a sweet picture of our Prophet and his wife!

Another sweet couple!

I don't normally walk on Sunday but
I guess I needed it today.
