Happy 48th Birthday Darrel! Even though I already sent him a card with a message in it, I texted this message to Darrel today:
Dear Darrel,
Happy 48th birthday! Has it really been that long?
You are my baby, my easiest delivery, and my sweet
little shopping companion while everyone else was at
school or work.
I am so grateful you serve a mission and were able to
teach the people of Honduras about Jesus Christ
and His great love for them.
I was grateful when you brought Trina into our lives.
I remember the first time I met Trina.
You were at our house with her and some other friends, and we came home from somewhere. When we walked in the door,
she jumped up, came over and shook our hands and said:
"Hello, I'm Trina." She has had my heart ever since.
The two of you are so great together. You have a wonderful family.
I am so proud of all that you have accomplished and the person
you have become.
Pleas remember Darrel that you were Heavenly Father's son first, and He will always love and care for you. Your nature is divine and He want you back to live with Him and your family someday.
I am so looking forward to our visit in a couple of weeks!
Love, Mom
I love the new youth theme and the theme for the Salt Lake City temple open house next year starting on April 5th:
Rejoice in Christ.
Things Kim accomplished this week: 1) Cleaned off garage shelves and put canning jars in the car. 2) Dusted all logs and fans on the main floor. 3) Vacuumed and shampooed three couches. 4) Swept and Endusted wood floors on main floor. 5) Vacuumed the three family room/living room rugs. 6) Put sheets on the beds upstairs. 7) Got the upstairs rooms ready for company. 7) Went shopping with me and made two loaves of pumpkin bread. Whew, makes me tired just writing about it.
This is something I learned today as part of my Old Testament study:
Psalms 147-48 are part of the Hallelujah Psalms, asking all of God's creations to praise Him for His power and mercy, for His laws, commandments, and revelations.
We had a big breakfast bash this morning before the guys went out to work. We had fruit, eggs, biscuits and gravy and orange juice. Dallin is on the Keto diet so he made himself some bacon and eggs. Jazmin helped Kim and I make breakfast. Samii and April slept in. April actually came down before we were finished. Jazmin cooked the eggs; Kim did the fruit plate and helped me with the gravy as it is Brian's recipe. It was quite a spread and I felt bad that Samii missed it. She is gluten intolerant so it probably would have been eggs and fruit for her.
The guys went out to work. How appropriate that Joe has on a plaid "lumberjack" shirt. Joe also brought a saw, which was very helpful, since none of James's chain saws were available to use. Alex wielded the axe, and Dallin drove the skidsteer. Michael was picking up fallen branches and putting them on the burn pile. James was directing everything.
Michael thought he might want to ride Apollo so James asked me to go pick up the saddle from Khloe. Also, James and Michael wanted to make a cobbler and needed a cake mix so I needed to go to Dollar General.
I ask the girls if they would fix lunch and they said they would be happy too. I had stuff for grilled cheese sandwiches and hamburgers or cheese burgers.
I met Gabe and Khloe at Dollar General and Khloe put the saddle in the back of my car. I went in to shop and ended up buying a yellow cake mix and some canned apples for the cobbler.
When I returned I took a nap. I told Samii we would start the baked potatoes at 4pm. When I got up from my nap, she had already begun preparing the potatoes. I was impressed, but this was just the beginning. She made a Caprese salad with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and balsamic oil. She also made garlic butter for the rolls and cut up the veggies for the salad. She also made a salad for the horses.
When Kim and I were finished preparing the sides, we stepped back for Michael and April so they could cook the steaks. No Samii, she got right in there and helped cook the steaks too. Dinner was a huge success!
After dinner I had everyone sit down and watch the Louie Navarelli video about Elon Musk. I stopped before the end and explained to everyone why I was investing in the stock market. I said I happened on a video early one morning that led me to it. I had been looking for something to do to earn money so Grampa would no longer have to work and I felt like this was it. I said: "He has taken care of me all of these years, now I want to take care of him."
After the video Kim and I went in to do the dishes. James offered to help but we said we had it covered. Jazmin asked me if I had a stack of PostIts she could have, and a pen. When I handed them to her, I asked what she needed them for. She said they were going to play Headbanz, which they did for the next couple of hours or so before going to bed. It seems like they were having a great deal of fun.
Sixteen dead trees were felled today. Thank you guys.
April found a Jesus under a lamp upstairs. Last time she was here she found one too.

Psalms to Ponder
147:1,3,5,6,8,12,13,20
1- Praise ye the Lord, 3-He healeth the broken in heart, 5-Great is our Lord and of great power; his understanding is infinite, 6-The Lord lifeth up the meek, 8-Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. 12-Praise the Lord..., 13-He hath blessed thy children within thee, 20-Praise ye the Lord.
Dead Tree Falling Day
Did I mention that Samii doesn't eat meat or bread.
change color and then shared this picture of
his room with me. I was intrigued. He and Michael
said our lights in the family room were too bright.
