Temple #188.
I am up at 3 and ready for the day. I had my personal prayers, and scripture study including Book of Mormon, Old Testament, and a General Conference address. I had breakfast, did dishes and walked. I set up an IRA on Acorns, investing $50 a week into it. I read some investment emails and then had prayer and scriptures with James.
At 7:30 Kim and I left to go shopping at Walmart. We dropped off canning jars I am giving away to Cheryl Sedig and Donna Beckham at Cheryl's. We listened to "Come Home" by Elder Clark Gilbert from the last general conference, and a talk from OGC 2016 by Elder Evan A. Schmutz, "God Shall Wipe Away All Tears," and then Jeff Bednar's BYU Devotional.
At Walmart Kim mailed a check to Autumn before going in. I used the little girls room and then we met in produce. 'Let the Shopping Begin'!
We went through my list like a couple of bots or a well-oiled machine. Coming early was a good idea. It was so nice having Kim with me and made the shopping so much easier and faster. We were home before 10:30, less than the usual 3 hours. Putting the food away was easier too. I organized and cleaned the frig as I went. I texted Xan. He and Jazmin left at 11:17. I ate and took a nap with Tom. Kim started some pumpkin bread. James left at 2 to go to Discount Tire to have a sensor to put in our new tire since they failed to do it in Longview. He also bought some bread, which I forgot, for grilled cheese sandwiches.
Xan & Jaz arrived at 3 just as Kat & Larry were leaving. I had a nice visit with them, it was just them and me. Xan has two jobs plus he is a teacher's assistant for two professors. He goes to school at ASU.
Jaz has work and school too and she is getting ready to move from one area in Scottsdale to another. I told them about my investment learning and purchasing an IRA. Jaz took a nap. Alex worked on his computer. I worked on finishing up my August 22nd post on my blog. That was the day of Polly's funeral.
Alex ended up ordering and paying for 10 packets costing $8.00 a piece from the US Forestry Division of the federal government. These packets are supposed to help get rid of the bark beetles. The government uses them in the national parks.
I made a simple meal for Xan & Jaz, James did some elk bugling and he told Pete the Crow stories to Jazmin who was a very attentive listener.
Michael, April, Samii, Dallin, and Joe are on their way in two different cars. Joes is with Samii and Dallin because Michael and April have two dogs, Namira and Skippy. Skippy is April's new rescue dog. Michael says he is a chi-winnie.
"The scriptural phrase 'endure to the end' is a repeated reminder of the mighty spiritual change in our hearts that should be ongoing throughout our lives."
- Elder David A. Bednar
Psalms to ponder
Psalm 138:1,8
1 I will praise Thee with my whole heart;...
8 ...thy mercy, O LORD endureth forever.
146:5
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God.
A girl can dream can't she
Wonder what Tom is looking at
