Sheri made a nice breakfast. I had some of the turkey bacon. The boys watched the first session of conference this morning. During the last session they went in my bedroom and watched the Cardinals football game.

For lunch Sheri made her delicious homemade macaroni and cheese. Even James liked it. I put some rolls out to rise and for dinner we had rolls, roast beef, mashed potatoes, and peas. Thanks for feeding us so well, Sheri.

For most of the afternoon Max and Ian watched football in the family room. Ian was very annoyed with the refs during the Cowboys game.

Sheri and I went in the bedroom and watched "Matchmaker Mystery" on the Hallmark movies and mysteries channel. I would not normally watch this on Sunday. I guess I don't get to see Sheri very often and I used that as the reason. One of the new questions on the temple recommend interview is about keeping the Sabbath day holy. I must do better.

Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd

Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall.
Book of Mormon
Helaman 15:7-16:18
New Testament: Ephesians: "For the Perfecting of the Saints"
Ephesians 6

Ephesians 6:11-17
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

James and I watched the first session of conference by ourselves.
During the first part of the afternoon session, Ian, Sheri, Max, Evan, and Joshua arrived. Sheri and Ian finished watching the second session with us.

Our ward had a Relief Society activity at the church for the women's session. I invited Sheri to go but she did not want to. I texted Tamara and Kerri and asked to be excused. They were very sweet about it. My friend Lynda Price who just got off a mission wanted me to go with her and I had to tell her I wasn't going. They were having a potluck dinner and then watching the broadcast and the Relief Society was providing desert. Tamara said there were around 30 sisters who attended, which is a good turnout for our ward.

At home before the broadcast Sheri made chocolate chip cookies and I made zuppa tuscana soup.

Sheri and I watched the broadcast together. Sister Cordon announced the changes to the Young Women's program and introduced the new theme. My favorite talk was President Nelson's. He also announced the new temples in this session which was kind of unusual because he usually does this in the last session.

We are pleased to announce plans to construct temples in the following locations: Freetown, Sierra Leone; Orem, Utah; Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea; Bentonville, Arkansas; Bacolod, Philippines; McAllen, Texas; Coban, Guatemala; and Taylorsville, Utah.

We watched the newest Hallmark movie, "Over the Moon in Love."

General Conference
The True, Pure, and Simple Gospel of Jesus Christ
M. Russell Ballard
"Loving God and loving our neighbors is the doctrinal foundation of ministering, home-centered, Church-supported learning; Sabbath-day spiritual worship; and the work of salvation."

It was an absolutely beautiful spring day in the 60's. Best of all, there was no wind. I know this but didn't really experience it except for looking from the inside out. My day was spent watching general conference and working on catching up this blog.

Here is how conference went today:

Sunday Morning Session

19. Dale G. Renlund
20. Sharon L. Eubank
21. Quentin L. Cook
22. D. Todd Christofferson
23. Tad R. Callister
24. Russell M. Nelson

Sunday Afternoon Session

25. Dallin H. Oaks
26. Juan Pablo Villar
27. Gerrit W. Gong
28. David A. Bednar
29. Kyle S. McKay
30. Ronald A. Rasband
31. Russell M. Nelson

It was an inspiring and faith-filled day.

During Elder Gong's talk a stained-glass picture of the Savior holding a sheep came up on the screen. This exact stain-glassed is in the foyer of the Snowflake temple. Recently we had a visitor to the temple that James spoke to. He was touring the temples in the United States looking for this stained-glass picture which is also in the Provo City Center temple. When he walked into the Snowflake temple on this particular Saturday he looked at the picture and said, "There it is I have been looking everywhere, and here it is."

The only changes for this conference came a few days before conference regarding the blessing and baptism of children of gay couples. It was a decision rescinding a policy made in 2015 and was done as, I believe, an act of love.

James gave me the bunny report first thing this morning and brought two of them inside for me to see.

See they will be going out into the lone and dreary world.

The smaller ones are pretty mild.

I wish we could keep one.

 I know, I'm obsessed!
It's my personality.

She listened to President Nelson,
then it was time for a nap, and then,
 a ride on her horse.

A Hallmark movie to end the day.
