Jesus Christ, Divine Sonship
Acts 3:26

"Even while we are patiently waiting upon the Lord, there are certain blessings that come to us immediately."

I read an article in the Ensign today about receiving personal revelation. One of the things that struck me was this statement:
Serious reflection precedes revelation.

James and I left for town this morning a little after 11. We stopped at the Vernon Library to see Tamara and I picked up May birthday cards to sign for Relief Society sisters with birthdays in May. James went in to the 10 cent room to look for books. After I was done visiting with Tamara I joined him. We only came away with three books today. One of the books I got was a quilting book that was ranked really low and that I could sell for over $16 Prime.

James wanted me to take him home because he had a lot to do today but I talked him in to going to town and getting the oil changed in the car while I did my shopping at Walmart. He did a few other errands and then came to pick me up. I helped James unload some of the groceries and then got in the car. We stopped to get gas on the way out of town and as we were headed towards the Y I asked James where my clipboard was. He said, what clipboard? I said, the one that was in the cart with the groceries. He said, I didn't get it and I realize I also forgot all the soda on the bottom of the cart. He immediately turned around and we headed back to Walmart.

I don't know how he does it but James came back with my clipboard which had the recipe for the soup I'm fixing for the Howard's tonight, and the three 12-packs of soda that we left. The woman at the customer service desk said that once the groceries leave the store they don't replace them, but they did for James. I guess it's his charm.

As soon as we got home I started the soup.   I bought a roasted chicken and added chicken broth, carrots, celery and Rice-a-Roni chicken garlic flavored rice. Instead of using a crockpot which I didn't have time for, I used my cast iron pot.

It was raining when we loaded up the car to go to the Howard's and when we unloaded at their house.

Jean and Tom were alone. I expected the McNeil's and Hunter to be there but they were gone. Jean had set the table for four and insisted that we stay, so we did.

The soup was still hot, and we also had croissants, and a salad with nuts and berries. It was good and for dessert we had a Sock-It-To Me bundt cake. Jean brought out some Dr. Pepper and Coke for us to drink. When Tom said the blessing on the food he thanked the Lord for bringing the Lambson's into their lives, which made us feel good and we feel the same way about them. They are good people and we love them. It was a nice evening. It was stil raining when we left and when we got home. We went to bed with the sound of rain on our roof.

When we got home and all of our steps were done, we watched the newest episode of "Morning Show Mysteries" starring Holly Robinson Peete and Rick Fox. It was okay but I'm just not in to murder mysteries like I am Hallmark romances.

Jesus Christ betrayal of
John 13:21
When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
Book of Mormon
Mosiah 19:25-20:11
* Why did the Lord let Limhi's people end up in bondage?
- sue_heugly: There are two kinds of bondage: The self-inflicted kind from poor choices and iniquity, and the kind that comes from the consequences and choices of others. Limhi's people chose sin, which is to serve Satan. Abinadi warned and prophesied that the people would be brought into bondage because they hardened their hearts against Abinadi's words and wouldn't repent. The dues of discipleship do not come cheap. If we want blessings and freedom from bondage, we must be loyal to God, obey his prophets, keep the commandments and remain humble, submitting our will to His. A blessing always carries with it a responsibility, and a consequence.

Chapter 10: "The Gospel of God", Chapter 11: "Speaking of the Lord's Atonement"
I am a little sad I finished this book today because I have really enjoyed it. Next I am going to listen to Elder and Sister Renlund's book, The Melchizedek Priesthood.

At 8 a.m. I left for town, about 20 minutes behind James. We are taking the truck and Lexy in to get new tires. James has to pay for his, I don't have to pay for mine. It's to replace the used one they put on a few days ago when I got a flat coming home from the Morrison's.

They got our tires on in less than 30 minutes. We took a short walk and it was time to go. Next stop, Walmart, to get the oil changed in Lexy. James made the arrangements and then left. I walked down to the mailbox and mailed the note I wrote to President Shumway.
Now it's time to go in and do my weekly shopping.

I took my time shopping, calculating all my expenses. I checked out and then went to see if my car was ready. I sat in the little waiting room and watched some of Harry Potter. I could see the hood still up on Lexy so I took a spin around the store. This trip is going to be more costly than it seems because I found things to put on my wish list: Grabbit Stick, Black memory foam shoes, "Oh The Places You'll Go" Dr. Seuss book, "Coco,"the movie, and "Coco book and playset. "Star Wars 5 Minute Stories." I actually went home and used my Amazon gift card to by two of the books and the movie. I also bought the movie, "Wonder" because Stacy said it was so good.
Two more things on my wishlist, cute photo album papers, and some new Ginger scissors.

Finally after a few more trips around the store and the passing of two hours, Lexy was finished. I paid the girl, got my report, and loaded up Lexy for home.

I got home and put everything away and sat down in my recliner wondering where James was. He came in a few minutes later with Brother Howard's Cat skidsteer on his trailer. I was watching a Hallmark movie and he sat down and finished watching it with me.

For dinner we had cooked cabbage. For F.H.E. we listened to President Nelson's conference talk from October 1999, "A Testimony of the Book of Mormon."

James took me outside to show me how to feed the bunnies. There was a full moon behind clouds that looked rather eerie.

Jesus Christ Atonement through
Alma 42:23
But God ceaseth not to be God, and mercy claimeth the penitent, and mercy cometh because of the atonement; and the atonement bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead; and the resurrection of the dead bringeth back men into the presence of God; and thus they are restored into his presence, to be judged according to their works, according to the law and justice.

James got a call from Cody Birch this morning. Cody wants James to build him a house. The problem is he doesn't even have a lot yet.
Cody is an anethesiologist and he says he makes alot more money now that he works for himself.

I started reading about The Sheperd's Diet today. It focuses on healthy fats and proteins, and low carbs.

We made a trip to town this morning. James got an xray done at the hospital and then went to Sonoran lab to get bloodwork done. Before he did those two things we took Lexy to Walmart to get the oil changed. They said it would take about an hour and a half but it was actually over two hours. I shopped and then when I was finished I went to McDonald's and got a diet coke and an ice cream cone. I also opened the Dorito Salsa Verde chips I bought. Michael had some when he was up here and I became addicted.

James joined me and ordered a couple of burgers because they were on sale 2/$5. I ate part of one and then gave the rest to him.

We were excited when we stopped at the post office to see that our order of Heartland season 5 had arrived. We watched two episodes this evening.

On the way home from town the check engine light and several other lights came on. James thinks it's nothing to worry about that they just messed something up when they were changing the oil.

James and I both still have a lingering cough, and no energy.

Cute picture of Shayna

I think she left her boots her. She's the only
one that could fit in these tiny boots.

Double rainbow in the desert.

Helaman 15:7-16:18
How can faith and repentance bring about a change of heart?
When we experience a change of heart we are filled with the Savior's love.  The Savior's power comes from His love.  Would we suffer less if we loved the Savior more?  We cannot pray away another's agency. (These thoughts came from Elder Hales recent conference talk).  President Benson says we can stand "firm and steadfast" in the faith as we learn the doctrines taught in the Book of Mormon.

GC: 'The Soul's Sincere Desire' by Carol F. McConkie
"Every moment of precious prayer can be holy time spent with our Father, in the name of the Son, by the power of the Holy Ghost."

James and I left for the valley today around 9 am.  Of course I read to him after we had our scriptures and listened to a conference talk.  The second book in the Millennial Glory series is called "Wars of Light."

We stopped at the Arby's at Fountain Hills and had some lunch.  We both got the beef and cheddar sandwich.  Neither one of us liked it very well.
I dropped James off at the "yard" to get his truck.  First we had to go bad and get the keys from Adam so I got to see Joshua for a minute.  When I got to Cathi and Terry's I unloaded the car and got ready to go see Charlotte.
Charlotte and I went to Deseret Book in Gilbert where I bought her an Ensign and myself another journal.
I have about 20 of these 5 x 6 1/2 sized journals in all colors
and designs.
We also got a mint truffle and a Stewart's diet orange soda.  Next it was on to Costco where I had over $36 in rewards to spend.  I ask Charlotte if there was anything she wanted and this is what she picked:

She said we could both use this and divided up the four months supply between the two of us.
I also bought the DVD "Saturdays Warriors."  Before leaving we had to stop at the snack bar and get a hotdog and drink for $1.50 each.
Our last stop was Target.  I had a $40 gift card and bought toilet paper and laundry detergent, lemons, and protein shakes.  It was almost 4 p.m. when I dropped Charlotte off at home.  I called James and he was taking Seth and Adam to work and said he would meet me at Sears where I was taking my car to be serviced.  They are changing the oil and rotating the tires.  When I ask for a lube too, the little Oriental lady said, no lube on this kind of car.  Ok.. Off to the mall food court I went to wait for James.
Desert pictures usually indicate that I am
in the Valley of the Sun.

After about two and a half hours my car was finished and we headed for Tempe to see Lois and Dawn, James's mother and sister.  We had a nice visit and Lois gave us some pictures of our family for us to keep.  She is trying to organize and clean out all of her things.  She tried to give me some of her dolls, but I told her I would be back another time.
