James had a meeting with Francisco this morning at Lake Park Village.  The job starts Monday and since Francisco will be starting before James gets there James wanted to make sure he knew what needed to be done.  There are still some delays with the Hatch Hanger job thanks to new regulations by the city of Chandler.  They always like to make things difficult.  James will also be doing a job for Rick at Chandler Auto Body when he finsihes the job at Lake Park Village.

James and I went to Evan and Rowan's soccer game this morning.  They play for the orange lasers.
Grandpa and Ruby "watching the soccer game."
At one point Ruby said: "Oh grampa, let's go sit by gramma, she looks lonely."  Thanks Ruby for thinking of me.

the boys to run through.
After the game we said goodbye to Ruby, Rowan, Darrel, Trina, Evan and Sheri, and James and I headed to Elmer's for lunch.  We love their machaca burros.  After lunch we went home, packed everything up, picked up Sheri and Evan and headed to Max's flag football game way out at Payne Jr. High on Riggs and Higley.  Max plays for the Saints, and they are awesome.  Max made a touchdown and scored an extra point.  The final score was Saints 33, Steelers 7.

We drove home the Globe way and I slept most of the way home.  We got home around 5:30, unload the truck and put some things away before watching Sherlock.  James fixed coleslaw and beans for dinner.  It always feels good to be home.

There is a big Young Single Adult Conference going on at ASU this weekend.  Jeffrey and Patricia Holland, Mitt and Ann Romney, Sheri Dew, Brooke White, and Danny White are a few of the Mormon celebrities coming.  I wish Adam, Jared, and Dallin would go but as it does out, none of them did.  I would like to have gone!

Today would have been my grandpa Albert Alexander Strickland's 125th birthday.  That's not too old according to biblical standards.  Abraham was 140 years old and still having children!

Sheri and Evan picked me up this morning and we all went to Rowan and Evan's soccer game together.  I also got to see Trina, Ruby and Rowan.  Ruby sat on my lap during most of the game. I missed seeing Addy, she was at dance lessons. While I was at the game James took my car to Erik's house for him to look at.  He came to the conclusion that the reason my check engine light is coming on is because I need a new gas cap.  Wow!  I am so relieved that it's something that simple.  Sheri said the same thing happened to her.

After the game Evan wanted Rowan to come home with him but Rowan has his first piano lesson today, which means he can't come over until this afternoon. Evan was a little grumpy when Sheri and I stopped at Kneader's for breakfast.  We both got omelets and Evan had the pancakes but he didn't eat much.  He said he wasn't in the mood for something sweet.

I got back to Chandler and packed up to go home.  James had already left and was going by the job in Scottsdale at Troon North.  He had told he was going home the Payson way so I decided to go through Globe and stop at Burger House and get some burros.  Just as I was getting on the 60 from the 202 he called and said he was going the Globe way.  Well it was too late for me to turn back but I told him he got stop and get the burros.  As it turned out I stopped too and waited for him in the parking lot while I took a short nap.  That mixed green burro sustained me all the way home.  It's the last thing I ate before starting my fast.  I made a stop at Safeway in Show Low for grapes and coleslaw.  I realized after I got home they charged me double for the grapes so James called and told them.  All we have to do is go in Monday and give them our receipt.
When we get home we unpack and then James layers my hair a little in the back before I take a shower.  While I'm taking my shower he watches "Person of Interest."  I told him to watch it without me because I've decided it's too violent for me.  We watch "Elementary" and a Hallmark movie: "Puppy Love."  James agrees that out of all three, Puppy Love was the best.  He's leaving the dark side and coming into the light!

The highlight of my day was going to Rowan and Evan's soccer game.  Joshua rode over with me and we met Ian, Evan, Trina, Rowan, Addy, Ruby, and James.  James, Addy, Ruby, Joshua and I found a shade tree up a little hill from the game.  It gave us the relief we needed from the sun.  Evan and Rowan are on the Purple Pirates team.  The game ended up in a tie but both boys gave it their all.  It was so cute, when Evan was out of the game he would come up on the hill and sit by us.
Rowan is 2 and Evan is 8.
Taking a break with a little refreshment.
In other news today, I finished fertilizing the backyard, watered it, and finished sweeping the leaves off the backporch.  I also loaded 12 boxes in my car to take home.
James and I drove home after the soccer game.  We went the Globe way and I ordered our burros from Burger House.  James gets the mixed green and I get the just green.  Delicious!!
On another note there was some kind of motorcycle event today.  I saw lots of bikers.  At one of the restaurants in downtown Miami there was a big sign that said: LOOSE CANNON BIKE RUN.  Lots of bikes parked in front.  Here is just a small sampling of what I saw today:
Bikers doing the Loose Cannon Bike Run.
In other news Hunter Jensen, son of Laurie and Curt Jensen had his Eagle Scout Project today and here are some of the people who helped.
That's Dianna Dowdle in the front.
Michael and Sarah Sokevieta, former members of our ward in Chandler did the Warrior Dash today.
Does this look like fun to you?
Not me.
James and I got home at the same time, 3:30.  By 4:15 James was on his way to the priesthood leadership session of stake conference with Owen Peeler and Chuck Crane.
At 6:00 Kathy Crane picked me up and we also picked up Stefani Hunsaker, and Donna Peeler and we all rode together to the adult session of stake conference where we met our husbands.
Much of the conference was focused on families and the temple.  The highlight for me was two 18 year old boys who just received their mission calls singing "Come Unto Christ."
On the way home from conference we rode with Kathy and Chuck Crane.  They wanted to stop at Dairy Queen for dinner so we did and saw several other people from conference there, including our friends the Peelers.  When we left Dairy Queen Chuck pulled out into the center yellow lined lane and waited for traffic.  A mile or so down the road he was stopped by a police officer who informed him that the yellow lane is only for left turns.  We all learned something and thank goodness Chuck only got a warning.
We went home and went to bed so we would be ready for another session of conference in the morning.
