"Because of the redeeming life and mission of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can, and should, be the most joyful people on earth!"

Apollo got stuck in the fence this morning trying to get into the yard. James helped him to get out. I told him he should have taken a picture. Michael helped James fix the backyard fence so Apollo can no longer get in.

My upper lip and left cheek swelled up today. I looked terrible.
James went to town to get fence supplies, grass seed, a few groceries, and a prescription. Michael wanted to take Numira up to Green's Peak and then he was going to go in to town to do a little shopping. I stayed in my room with my swollen upper lip and left cheek. I got a visit from Tom and he stemmed some of my loneliness. He kept wanting me to pet him. He slept under the bed for awhile and then he came and slept beside me on the recliner.

I ran off all 186 pages of the Inklings study today. I am anxious to do an in-depth study of President Nelson's talk.

For dinner tonight Michael made his famous past with Italian sausage and marinara sauce with a side of mixed veggies. I actually mixed my veggies in with my pasta and it was delicious.

Michael prepared the food and James delivered it.  I feel special. I feel bad that I didn't spend time with Michael today. I really wanted to go with him to town, etc. but I couldn't go out with my botox gone bad look.

I watched the new Curious Caterer episode called, "Forbidden Fruit." It was okay, but not my favorite. I really like Andrew Walker and Niki Deloach but this wasn't their best.

James walked and started our new book, "Secrets of Stonebridge." We both realize that we have read it before.

"As we reach out to Jesus Christ in faith, He will always be there."

James took my car to the valley this morning. I drove his truck to my dental appointment and then over to Rosa's to pick up my tamales.
Pierce put my temporary teeth on the bottom and filled one cavity. I thought he said I had four more cavities but today he said there was only one. He will order my permanent teeth from the lab and they will be ready in two weeks. The only problem is that Pierce & Susan are leaving for Okinawa to visit family on October 21st and won't be back until November 2nd. We made an appointment for November 5th at 9 am. My temporaries will have to do until then.

For lunch I had two of Rosa's tamales with ketchup. They were so yummy! I was a little shocked when I asked Rosa how much it was for a dozen tamales and she said $30. They have always been $20.

I went in to the bedroom and relaxed on the recliner, waiting for Michael and Numara to get here. Numara is Michael's dog. They arrive a couple of hours later. Michael said the construction on the rim held him up for over 45 minutes.

After he had been here for awhile I ask Michael if he was hungry. He said, "I could eat." I told him I had pork chops and mashed potatoes and he said that sounded delicious. We made dinner together. I did the mashed potatoes and he did the pork chops. We also fixed green beans and corn. We had a nice dinner together. Afterwards I told Michael I would do the dishes. I knew he wanted to watch the Seahawks and 49ers football game. He is a big Seahawks fan.

There was lots of food to put away and several pots and pans but I managed to have the kitchen clean in less than 45 minutes. Afterwards I went in to watch the game with Michael.

I cheered for the Seahawks but I also quietly cheered for the 49ers.  I really like them better. Their quarterback, Brock Purdy, is from Chandler. The 49ers ended up winning. It was a good game.

James got home near the end of the game. He had a light dinner before going outside to walk.

Numara is a very curious dog. He has a tendency to stare at people. This afternoon after they got here Michael put her outside on a rope strung across the yard and attached at both ends so she could walk around. Instead of walking she sat and stared at the house until Michael came outside and got her. It was so funny! She is a beautiful dog. When Michael fed her dinner. She wouldn't eat it until Michael counted: 3, 2, 1. When he got to 1 she went over and began eating. He has also taught her how to whisper bark. When he says whisper she barely "woofs." He says he uses some of the same techniques to teach her as he does with the children who come to the autism center where he works.

I ran off all of my Inkling materials for this coming semester today. They had them all available online, 186 pages. I printed front and back so I only used 93 pieces of paper.

'Bonded to Jesus Christ: Becoming the Salt of the Earth' Elder Jose A. Teixeira
"As we remain bonded to the Lord, our lives will naturally reflect His light, and we will become the salt of the earth."

My morning was very slow. This is my day to clean and catch up on my blog and I am off to a very slow start. I ate something, took some Tramadol, and took a nap.

I texted Sheri this morning to ask her if she could please invite Harold & Vickie, Dennis & Denise to the wedding simply because they live up here and wouldn't have to travel to the valley. She said she would but I could tell that she was stressed. She is worried about having enough food. I told her I would make some enchiladas and order some more refried beans and tortillas. She said I didn't need to do that but I think I will anyway.

Sheri is also stressed because Stacy & Paul weren't coming to the dinner and Joshua wasn't coming because of cross country. Now they are coming and bringing Joshua's girlfriend Alana.

Sheri also got a second job. She is working from 6-10 at night at FedEx. I am worried she is pushing herself too hard. She says she has an $11,000 new air conditioner bill that she has to pay.

James went back to Hipps's today to do cleanup. While he was gone Armando texted me and said he and Greg Hatch were trying to contact James but couldn't get through. I called Brother Hipps who said he would go out and tell James to give me a call. When he didn't call and 10 minutes had gone by I called Brother Hipps again. He said while he was getting his brace and shoes on that James had left. I was hoping he would show up here at home in a few minutes, which he did. I told him about his message and when he went to get his phone out of his pocket it wasn't there. He called on my phone and took care of the crises that Armando and Greg Hatch had and then went back to Hipps's to look for his phone. He found it on the piece of equipment he had been driving. The adventures of James Lambson continue.

This evening I did some cleaning and some laundry. I vacuumed the family room area and swept and mopped the kitchen and dining room floor. I swept the stairs going upstairs and cleaned the hall bathroom. James and I went downstairs and put clean sheets on the bed, cleaned the bathroom, and vacuumed the floor. Now the room is ready for Michael who is coming tomorrow. I was tired when I went to bed.

I got a text from my cousin Rita this evening. She sent me a picture of her, Pete Whipple, and her brother Gary when Rita and Pete were about four and Gary was two. She wants me to send it to Patsy Tedder and have her send it to Pete. I said I would.

'Burying Our Weapons of Rebellion' Elder D. Todd Christofferson
"May we bury, very, very deep, any element of rebellion against God in our lives and replace it with a willing heart and a willing mind."

Today was a busy day. I'm grateful I felt better than I did this weekend.

James is pouring concrete at the Hipps's this morning. I had an appointment at Goodman's Dental. My new upper teeth are here!
I thought we would do the impressions for my temps on my bottom teeth and finish filling cavities. Instead Pierce pulled out the temps and put in the new crowns and veneers. It took over two hours. It is not an easy process. My top teeth look beautiful, especially compared to my bottom teeth. Pierce said those would be taken care of on Thursday.

After my appointment I went home and made some honey-lime marinade for a couple of chicken breasts, then took a nap before getting ready for the temple.

I left for Snowflake at 2:06, arriving at the temple at 3. I am meeting my friend Ruth Gale for the 3:30 endowment session. I have no appointment and it says online that the session is full. I was early and easily got a seat and saved one for Ruth who came in about five minutes before the session began. As I sat down someone tapped me on the shoulder. It was one of the sisters behind me. She said: "You look so pretty. I love your hair." How sweet, thank you.

I was so happy to see Ruth when she came in. She is such a dear friend. I love the new endowment session. It is about fifteen or twenty minutes shorter than is use to be and is just as informative.

Ruth and I went to Eva's for dinner. I ordered the #10 plate, two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Ruth ordered a taco salad with no shell. I only ate about half of my food. I took the rest home for tomorrow's lunch.

I got home around 7 p.m., which means I was gone 5 hours. James was anxious to get my phone so he could walk. I was anxious to change my clothes and settle down in my comfy chair to watch "Dancing with the Stars."

Tonight was metal hair night and Gene Simmons from Kiss was one of the judges. He was awful and quite inappropriate. Not my favorite episode. I hope they never do it again. Thank goodness the two guys who can't dance went home, Eric Roberts and Reginald VelJohnson.

'Following Christ' President Dallin H. Oaks
"As followers of Christ, we teach and testify of Jesus Christ, our Perfect Role Model. So let us follow Him by forgoing contention."

I watched "Walk with Him" this morning. Barbara and Elaine were so excited about President Nelson's talk and made plans on how they were going to set up a study of the talk. The main study will be focused on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I found a looseleaf notebook, a red one, and labeled it, "The Atonement of Jesus Christ."

Barbara suggested listening to or reading a talk by Elder David A. Bednar that he gave to young adults way back in 2007 or 2008. The title, "A Reservoir of Living Water." The title is referring to the scriptures. I'm excited about the study but I'm not quite sure where to begin. President Nelson asked us to study the Atonement of Jesus Christ every week for the rest of our lives.

I went to town with James this afternoon. He is pouring concrete tomorrow at the Hipps's and needs to pick up some rebar at White Mountain Steel. Besides picking up rebar we picked up a prescription at Walmart and did a little grocery shopping. On the way out of town we went to Burger King and bought lunch. Two Whopper Jr.'s for a total of $5.00.

James was relying on Greg Anderson to help with the pour tomorrow. Greg called and said he couldn't help because he has a doctor's appointment in the valley. James gave Brother Chris Pronger a call and he said he could come.

We had grilled chicken for dinner, a salad, and croissants. It was nice to sit down together and actually have a real dinner.

I even did a little housework today. I swept and mopped the kitchen and dining room floor.

We got a family text from Rebecca today asking us to pray for Christina and her family. The Hoose family flew out to Orlando for a family reunion at Disney World. Can you imagine flying on an airplane with six children, three of them under three. Anyway, Hurricane Milton is supposed to hit land by Wednesday and Rebecca is very concerned about their safety. A prayer chain with the Lambson brothers and sisters was established.

Cayli is excited about the arch I bought for the wedding. It is still in the box and needs to be put together. I guess we should put it together to make sure there are no pieces missing.

Watched DWTS this evening. The theme was Soul Train and the remaining couples danced to classics from "Dancing Machine" by Jackson 5 to "Think" by Aretha Franklin. Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov, along with Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa were the first pairs to be eliminated. Delvey faced criticism after she stated on live television that she would take away "nothing" from her time on the show.
