'Following Christ' President Dallin H. Oaks
"As followers of Christ, we teach and testify of Jesus Christ, our Perfect Role Model. So let us follow Him by forgoing contention."

I watched "Walk with Him" this morning. Barbara and Elaine were so excited about President Nelson's talk and made plans on how they were going to set up a study of the talk. The main study will be focused on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I found a looseleaf notebook, a red one, and labeled it, "The Atonement of Jesus Christ."

Barbara suggested listening to or reading a talk by Elder David A. Bednar that he gave to young adults way back in 2007 or 2008. The title, "A Reservoir of Living Water." The title is referring to the scriptures. I'm excited about the study but I'm not quite sure where to begin. President Nelson asked us to study the Atonement of Jesus Christ every week for the rest of our lives.

I went to town with James this afternoon. He is pouring concrete tomorrow at the Hipps's and needs to pick up some rebar at White Mountain Steel. Besides picking up rebar we picked up a prescription at Walmart and did a little grocery shopping. On the way out of town we went to Burger King and bought lunch. Two Whopper Jr.'s for a total of $5.00.

James was relying on Greg Anderson to help with the pour tomorrow. Greg called and said he couldn't help because he has a doctor's appointment in the valley. James gave Brother Chris Pronger a call and he said he could come.

We had grilled chicken for dinner, a salad, and croissants. It was nice to sit down together and actually have a real dinner.

I even did a little housework today. I swept and mopped the kitchen and dining room floor.

We got a family text from Rebecca today asking us to pray for Christina and her family. The Hoose family flew out to Orlando for a family reunion at Disney World. Can you imagine flying on an airplane with six children, three of them under three. Anyway, Hurricane Milton is supposed to hit land by Wednesday and Rebecca is very concerned about their safety. A prayer chain with the Lambson brothers and sisters was established.

Cayli is excited about the arch I bought for the wedding. It is still in the box and needs to be put together. I guess we should put it together to make sure there are no pieces missing.

Watched DWTS this evening. The theme was Soul Train and the remaining couples danced to classics from "Dancing Machine" by Jackson 5 to "Think" by Aretha Franklin. Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov, along with Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa were the first pairs to be eliminated. Delvey faced criticism after she stated on live television that she would take away "nothing" from her time on the show.
