That our garments may be pure, that we may be clothed upon with robes of righteousness, with palms in our hands, and crowns of glory upon our heads, and reap eternal joy for all our sufferings.

I happened to be up to go to the bathroom during the sunrise. I saw bright orange through the bedroom door window. Here it is:

I love this photo

Ben and Sheri went on a run this morning and Ben took some pretty great pictures.

Sheri made friends with Tom today by scratching his back in just the right place.

Sheri and I spent some time talking to Cayli and Ben about the wedding. Cayli wants it to be outside in our backyard. We found arches on Amazon, wire ones which you can put flowers in. Cayli wants to have white roses. We priced the wooden white chairs that you see at outdoor weddings at a place in Lakeside called Willa's. We can get 80 chairs for $280. No decision was made today.

We also talked about the dinner at the church. They want to have rice, beans, chicken, and beef, and call it a burrito bar. They will get someone to cater it.

Cayli made delicious homemade pancakes for breakfast and then she wouldn't eat any. Sheri cooked a pound of bacon on our griddle.

Sheri uses a lot of ice. She talked about how difficult it was for her in Europe because they don't use ice. I have two trays of ice. I usually use one tray a day for my water and soda. Sheri used both trays for one of her drinks. We asked James if he would go to Dollar General for us and get some ice. He graciously said that he would. We also asked him to get some ice cream and a birthday card for Darrel.

James was gone for a very long time. I called him to check on him and he said he would be home soon. He didn't say much when he got home with the bag of ice, the butter pecan ice cream, and birthday card for Darrel. Later I ask him why he was gone so long. He said he got home with the ice cream and the card and realized he had forgotten the ice, the real reason he went in the first place. He put the ice cream in the garage freezer and drove back the fifteen miles to Dollar General to get the ice. I appreciate James, so much!

Sheri and I watched a couple of Hallmark movies today: "Head Over Heels", and "The Magic of Lemon Drops."  Sheri, Ben, Cayli and I turned on DisneyPlus and watched "The Greatest Showman", the story of P.T. Barnum starring Hugh Jackman. Cayli had never seen it. I haven't seen it in a long time and really enjoyed watching it again.

Sheri made hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner for everyone. James and I shared a cheeseburger.

James is teaching Willy Grombach's Sunday School class tomorrow. Willy teaches the fourteen year olds. I had him watch Ben Wilcox's podcast "Teaching with Power."

I learned today that Cayli is the oldest of five girls. Cayli loves kids and would love to have ten of them but says she will stop when Ben says it's time. Her wish for several years now is to be married on November 1st.

Sheri had scriptures and prayer with Evan again over the phone.

Notes & Quotes
"I invite you to consider carefully the following three statements:
1. The gathering of Israel is evidence that God loves all of His children everywhere.
2. The gospel of Abraham is further evidence that God loves all of His children everywhere. He invites all to come unto Him - "black and white, bond and free, male and female; . . . all are alike unto God."
3. The sealing power is supernal evidence of how much God loves all of His children everywhere and wants each of them to choose to return home to Him."

That when the trump shall sound for the dead, we shall be caught up in the cloud to meet thee, that we may ever be with the Lord;

I was so sore this morning I could barely move. I guess I overdid it last night cleaning the patio. I am frustrated and disheartened, wondering if I will ever feel "normal" again. I spent most of the day on the recliner, watching movies. I did move over to the computer and work on my blog and listen to "Follow Him." Janae Nelson is the guest this week and she was very insightful. I finished listening and then started Book of Mormon Central with Tyler Griffin and Taylor Halverson.

Tyler drew the pride cycle a little differently than the one in the "Come Follow Me" lesson. I copied it into my study notebook.

James went into town to get the part for Pierce's auger. He brought me back two tacos, one for lunch and one for dinner. He also finished cleaning the patio and upstairs.

Sheri, Ben and Cayli arrived around 8 p.m. Cayli got car sick in Sheri's car. She said hello, went upstairs, took a shower, and went to bed. I felt bad for her. Ben was worried because I guess her heart rate was pretty high.

Sheri called Evan and they read from the Book of Mormon and had prayer over the phone. I loved hearing Evan say the prayer. It was so sweet. He wasn't feeling well when Sheri left. Also, Joshua couldn't come with because he had a cross country meet tomorrow.

Sheri was telling me about all of her recent expenses. She needs new brakes for her car and a new air conditioning unit for their basement. The air conditioning unit is going to cost $11,000. Max sleeps in the basement and he has been quite miserable lately.

In other news, Cayli's family rented an Airbnb in Vernon. When I looked at who signed it, it said Stefani. This is the Hunsaker's airbnb. It's two miles away so it is the perfect location.

Notes & Quotes
"While God has promised there will never be another general apostasy, we need to be mindful and careful to avoid a personal apostasy - remembering, as President Russell M. Nelson has taught, "We are each responsible for our individual spiritual growth." Studying the Book of Mormon, as we are doing this year, always brings us closer to the Savior - and helps us stay close to Him."

Kaphar is the basic Hebrew word for atonement, and one of its' meanings is to "cover."
Affirmation: "I am deepening my relationship to my Savior as I make and honor sacred covenants. I cherish the symbols of His life and ministry, and I am making my own life a personal symbol of my love and gratitude for Jesus Christ through my actions and convictions."

I just feel like saying, "I love my kitty." That's it. No explanation why, it is just something I feel.

I felt pretty good this morning as I took my last dose of prednisone.

I had planned on cleaning upstairs today. Sheri and company are coming tomorrow. Tomorrow James and I were going to clean the patio and go to town to get flowers. My plans were turned upside down when James came in and said he needed to go to town to get a part for Pierce's auger that he borrowed. He convinced me that we should do all of our errands in town together, today, including buying flowers for the patio. I stopped what I was doing and got ready to go.

Our first stop was Empire Cat to get the part James needs. They were out so James ordered one to be picked up tomorrow morning. Duh, another trip to town.

We went to check on the Razr progress. James was told the mechanic got married in Phoenix yesterday and he just got back and is way behind in his work. They will let us know when he gets to our Razr.

We stopped at CVS and picked up the two prescriptions from James visit to the ER last Saturday. One is a muscle relaxer and the other is a NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug).

We stopped at Circle K we got 40 cents off per gallon of gas, only today, and a free drink.

At Home Depot we bought six beautiful mum "rounds". Here is how they look when James got them planted:

My six mum balls

While James was checking out I walked over to Walmart to do some shopping and pick up a prescription. On the way we home we stopped at Taco Bell and each of us got a crispy Taco Supreme.

The sky was overcast but there was no rain. Back at home after putting groceries away we went out on the patio and began cleaning and planting. Tom was outside with us. When we were finished, I was exhausted.

Notes & Quotes
"Life is all about making choices. Our Father in Heaven gave us the divine gift of agency precisely so that we could learn from our choices - from the right ones and also from the wrong ones. We correct our wrong choices when we repent. This is where growth happens. Heavenly father's plan for all of us is about learning, developing, and progressing toward eternal life."

And be adorned as a bride for that day when thou shalt unveil the heavens, and cause the mountains to flow down at thy presence, and the valleys to be exalted, the rough places made smooth; that thy glory may fill the earth;

I had my Subway sandwich for breakfast. I ordered Dr. Barbara O'Neil's Sweet Relief Glycogen support pills for joint pain and high blood pressure. I'm taking lots of health supplements right now because the meds the doctors are giving me for RA and blood pressure aren't working very well.

I felt better today but my face is still swollen. I asked James to please cancel my appointment with Pierce today. He was going to give me a dental exam but I don't want to see anyone until the swelling in my face goes down. James changed it to next Wednesday at 10:00.

Chuck Crane came over this afternoon to take our garbage to the dump. He was very excited when he came over. He said his son Jeff, who moved his family to Virginia is buying 10 acres here in Vernon from him and Kathy. He is moving back and building a home here. He and his family will be staying with his wife Susan's sister Julie in the home they grew up in. It is next to John and Sandra Wilhelm's. John is Susan and Julie's cousin. Susan is also Tamara Applegate's sister so I am sure Tamara is excited.

I put sheets on the bed downstairs, made sure there were fresh towels and scrubbed the toilet. Sheri and company are coming on Friday.

I actually finished three blog posts today. James brought home $10,000 in cash today from Chacon.

Notes & Quotes
"For me, the application of the first great commandment can sometimes feel abstract, even daunting. Gratefully, as I consider further words of Jesus, this commandment becomes much more graspable: ' If ye love me, keep my commandments.' This I can do. I can love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, which then leads to prayer, scripture study, and temple worship. We love the Father and the Son through the payment of tithes, keeping the Sabbath day holy, living a virtuous and chaste life, and being obedient."
