D&C 109:76
That our garments may be pure, that we may be clothed upon with robes of righteousness, with palms in our hands, and crowns of glory upon our heads, and reap eternal joy for all our sufferings.
I happened to be up to go to the bathroom during the sunrise. I saw bright orange through the bedroom door window. Here it is:
Ben and Sheri went on a run this morning and Ben took some pretty great pictures.
Sheri made friends with Tom today by scratching his back in just the right place.
Sheri and I spent some time talking to Cayli and Ben about the wedding. Cayli wants it to be outside in our backyard. We found arches on Amazon, wire ones which you can put flowers in. Cayli wants to have white roses. We priced the wooden white chairs that you see at outdoor weddings at a place in Lakeside called Willa's. We can get 80 chairs for $280. No decision was made today.
We also talked about the dinner at the church. They want to have rice, beans, chicken, and beef, and call it a burrito bar. They will get someone to cater it.
Cayli made delicious homemade pancakes for breakfast and then she wouldn't eat any. Sheri cooked a pound of bacon on our griddle.
Sheri uses a lot of ice. She talked about how difficult it was for her in Europe because they don't use ice. I have two trays of ice. I usually use one tray a day for my water and soda. Sheri used both trays for one of her drinks. We asked James if he would go to Dollar General for us and get some ice. He graciously said that he would. We also asked him to get some ice cream and a birthday card for Darrel.
James was gone for a very long time. I called him to check on him and he said he would be home soon. He didn't say much when he got home with the bag of ice, the butter pecan ice cream, and birthday card for Darrel. Later I ask him why he was gone so long. He said he got home with the ice cream and the card and realized he had forgotten the ice, the real reason he went in the first place. He put the ice cream in the garage freezer and drove back the fifteen miles to Dollar General to get the ice. I appreciate James, so much!
Sheri and I watched a couple of Hallmark movies today: "Head Over Heels", and "The Magic of Lemon Drops." Sheri, Ben, Cayli and I turned on DisneyPlus and watched "The Greatest Showman", the story of P.T. Barnum starring Hugh Jackman. Cayli had never seen it. I haven't seen it in a long time and really enjoyed watching it again.
Sheri made hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner for everyone. James and I shared a cheeseburger.
James is teaching Willy Grombach's Sunday School class tomorrow. Willy teaches the fourteen year olds. I had him watch Ben Wilcox's podcast "Teaching with Power."
I learned today that Cayli is the oldest of five girls. Cayli loves kids and would love to have ten of them but says she will stop when Ben says it's time. Her wish for several years now is to be married on November 1st.
Sheri had scriptures and prayer with Evan again over the phone.
Notes & Quotes
"I invite you to consider carefully the following three statements:
1. The gathering of Israel is evidence that God loves all of His children everywhere.
2. The gospel of Abraham is further evidence that God loves all of His children everywhere. He invites all to come unto Him - "black and white, bond and free, male and female; . . . all are alike unto God."
3. The sealing power is supernal evidence of how much God loves all of His children everywhere and wants each of them to choose to return home to Him."
- President Russell M. Nelson
