Consequently, the baptismal font was instituted as a similitude of the grave, and was commanded to be in a place underneath where the living are wont to assemble, to show forth the living and the dead, and that all things may have their likeness, and that they may accord one with another - that which is earthly conforming to that which is heavenly, as Paul hath declared, 1 Corinthians 15:46, 47 and 48:

For breakfast today I made scrambled eggs with cheese, ham and biscuits.

James and I left for town after breakfast. We mailed a card to Sue Hubble and a payment to Rock Solid before going to Kay's and then Walmart and Home Depot. I got my money back for Charlie's card at the Walmart returns desk and then went back to see if I could find another card. The first thing I saw as I turned the corner to the card aisle was Aerial on display. I took the display down and went back to the returns counter. I explained to the clerk that I found Aerial and I wanted to re-purchase the card I just returned. On the way home we went by the Show Low post office and mailed the "old" Aerial to Charlie.

On the way home we listened to our book, "Kiss of a Stranger".
We actually got some rain today!

Kim and Brian arrived around 2:30 this afternoon. Brian stayed for about an hour and then left for home, he has work to do. He will be back sometime on Friday.

Jared got stung by a bee on the neck. It turned red and began to swell.

James got his bee suit today. I ordered an extra large because he said that was the size of Pierce's. Not so. The suit is huge! I think we will have to give the one away and get another for James.

Kim brought peach cake and a piece of my strawberry cake. There was no comparison as to flavor. The strawberry cake had a more intense flavor. She also brought some Cadberry candy bars, a dark chocolate cherry and a milk chocolate s'mores. I got the s'mores. It was delicious. There goes my diet.

James had an Elder's Quorum meeting this evening. We had bbq chicken and scalloped potatoes for dinner.

Kim is doing my new 60's puzzle and I'm doing the Snack Treats puzzle she got me for my birthday. We also watched the movie, "How to Fall in Love."

James went in to town early this morning to get some bloodwork done. He also went to Walmart and picked up a few items, including some lemons for me.

We thought Kim and Brian were coming today. It was supposed to be yesterday and now it's going to be tomorrow. Jared Ammon washed the sheets and quilt downstairs and put the bedding back on the bed. He vacuumed and disinfected thinking that Kim and Brian were coming today. Oh well, I guess he's ahead of the game. He moved upstairs into Darrel & Trina's room.

I made breakfast for Jared Ammon and James, eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. After breakfast I cut up the ingredients for pepper steak.

I worked on my lesson for awhile. I was going to mail Charlie's birthday card today but when I opened the envelope, the card was gone. I'm going to take the card back tomorrow. James will go with me as he got the wrong sprinkler part today and needs to go back and exchange it.

James counted 27 hummingbirds at the feeders today all at the same time. He loves them so much.

I placed an order for a lounge chair for the deck today, using my Amazon gift cards. I also ordered some knee high and a ceramic seal spray to use to clean our stainless steal appliances.

My Mind Caught Hold upon This Thought of Jesus Christ" by Elder Neil L. Andersen

James and I went to town this morning. Our first stop was a donation at Goodwill and then we went on to Christopher Gardens in Lakeside to get grass seed. While James was buying the grass seed I was looking at the trees, plants, and flowers. I was taking a picture of some flowers when the owner, I guess his name is Christopher, cut the flower off and gave it to me. What a nice gesture. I should have asked him what kind of flower it was.

While I was at Walmart James was picking up the piece of paneling he ordered to replace the piece on the back of our house that Greg Anderson put his foot through while helping James remove the tree.
When James picked me up later he was quite upset because the piece they ordered didn't look like the sample and won't match the paneling on our house. It's not the right color.

We stopped at Taco Bell and I got a couple of tacos. On the way home we listened to "The Kiss of a Stranger."

We left Jared Ammon at home to work. He also rode Luna 2x.

We got clouds and wind but no rain today. What about the sunflowers?

Jared and JA moved the couch on the deck to make room for the table with the padded chairs. There are only two good chairs left. The other two chairs legs rusted and broke off. The table is near the two hummingbird feeders. We have had so many hummingbirds this year. Sometimes it feels like we are being attacked by dive bombers.
I bought 3 bags of sugar to accommodate the little birds.

James says he is almost ready to plant the grass, he just has to adjust the sprinklers. As he was adjusting them he discovered a leak which will probably set him back a few days until the leak is discovered.

I came out of my cave this evening and made some more chicken tacos for dinner. I had enough tortillas to make nine. Jared ate six, James ate one, I ate one and there is one left. They were very delicious, one of my favorite meals.

I started my new puzzle that Kim gave me.  It is a Springbok puzzle and is called Snack Treats.

I listened to the Inklings that featured Elder Soares talk as part of my lesson preparation this week. It was quite good and I am going to use some of the things discussed in my lesson on Sunday.

I thanked Kim and Sheri this morning for all they did yesterday for my birthday. Kim made the cake and Sheri used her credit card to pay for everyone's food and had everyone pay her back. She also paid for our food. Brian also made the arrangements at Serrano's.
Kim gave me a puzzle and a sweet card. Sheri gave me a $100 Amazon gift card, a beautiful card with everyone's signatures. Evan's was my favorite because he said he loved me with all of his heart. Sheri also gave me a $50 Cheesecake Factory card.

Trina gave me a white cloth pumpkin with a real stem, Junior Mints (how did she know?) and a $40 Olive Garden card.

Before church this morning I finished my study notebook for Romans 7-16.

Sue was still not here at church this week after her daughter's death.
Brother Skousen conducted sacrament meeting. Both bishop and Brother Allen were gone so Chuck Crane sat on the stand with Brother Skousen.

Our high council speaker was Brother David Morris. He brought as his speaking companions, his daughter Jordan and Sister Cheryl Halls the Stake Young Women's President and her daughter Amy Halls. Jordan Morris was the first speaker.

Jordan Morris - How can we abide in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Abide denotes remaining fixed or stable, to stay forever. Come, but come to remain. Come with conviction and endurance. Come permanently, for your sake and the sake of all the generations who must follow you. We abide in Christ as we are firm and steadfast in our devotion to Him and His holy purposes in times both good and bad.

Amy Halls - Follow the Prophet. Amy is a goalie for a soccer team. She says she does better when she follows the advice of her coach. She likened this to following the Prophet.

Cherilyn Halls  - Sister Hall talked about how President Beeler has asked us to have a daily walk with Jesus. Sister Halls realized that reading the scriptures is having a walk with Jesus and so is prayer. Obey commandments and honor covenants. Peacemakers needed. Anger never persuades. Be a peacemaker and have a daily walk with Jesus.

David Morris - Emily Halls mission report. Patience to show love. Focus on the other person. Choose contention or reconciliation, at a soccer or football game or in the grocery store. Bore witness of the gospel and Joseph Smith.

Millie Scott got to hold Weston Hall's newborn baby girl during sacrament meeting. I was surprised they had the baby out when she is only two or three weeks old.

I spoke with Jennifer Golly and Brother Peeler before Sunday School today. I told Jennifer I wanted her to sing in sacrament meeting again. She says since she is in charge of musical numbers she feels funny featuring herself. I told her I was going to talk to the bishop and have him ask her.

Donna Peeler wasn't here today so I asked Owen how she was doing. He said her cancer treatments are going well. She hasn't felt sick and has not lost her appetite.

In Sunday School today we talked about proving contraries. Joseph Smith said: "By proving contraries truth is made manifest."

Here are some contraries that are worth proving:
Justice & Mercy
Obedience & Grace
Truth & Love
Anarchy & Tyranny
Spirit of the law & Letter of the law
Doctrinal Pairs - Love & Service
The Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance, but as oft as you repent, He will forgive you.
The Abrahamic Covenant - Inclusivity vs, Exclusivity.
"The gospel net is the largest net in the world." RMN
Does culture trump doctrine? Never.
How we treat each other is key.

After Sunday School I spoke with Jordyn Applegate, one of my former young women who is here visiting this week. She did some fancy artwork for her dad's Sunday School lesson. Jordyn lives in Orem, Utah. She likes the art community there.

I also spoke with Millie Scott we share birthdays and we had to wish each other a happy birthday. We both have gifts for each other but we forgot to bring them. Maybe next week. I asked Millie why Catherine Halcomb wasn't here today. She said she came but Kerri, her daughter said something to her that hurt her feelings so she went home. I was sorry to hear that.

At home we had leftovers for lunch, chicken tacos, stew, and salad. I told Jared why we were eating that I did not think that the car accident was his fault. I think it made him feel good. He is a sensitive guy. He was going to ride Luna but he could tell she didn't want him to so he didn't.

We all had naps this afternoon. We thought we were going to get some rain from Hurricane Hillary that hit California pretty hard but the storm didn't make it this far. The last tropical storm California had was in 1939.
