First Counselor in the First Presidency
A constitution is the foundation of government. It provides structure and limits for the exercise of government powers. The United States Constitution is the oldest written constitution still in force today. Though originally adopted by only a small number of colonies, it soon became a model worldwide. Today, every nations except three have adopted written constitutions.

Family Memory
I remember Dallin coming down to help Grandpa lay the wood floor
at Cathi & Terry's and again at our house. He came with me to the nursery and then helped me plant the flowers we bought. Dallin loved to work when he was young.

I finished the movie I was watching on YouTube, "Cowgirls and Angels". It's about horses and a little girl finding her dad and her place in the world starring Bailee Madison and Alicia Witt. I really liked it.

I listened to an hour of "Unshaken" out of three hours. Brother Halverson is very thorough. I also listened and watched Dave and Emily on "Don't Miss This". They did an excellent job this week talking about the "Feast of Fat Things" or the supper of the marriage of the Lamb and what it takes to be a Zion person all based on scriptures from D&C 58 and 59. Here is a list of things mentioned:
58:26-29 Anxiously engaged in a good cause. 58:42-43 Repent, forsake and apologize 58:45-46 Gather and preach 59:1 Eye single to the glory of God 59:5 Love God  59:6 Love thy neighbor 59:7 Live in gratitude 59:8 Sacrifice for each other 59:9 Reconnect with God
59:10 Rest, pay thy devotions to God 59:15 Be cheerful 59:23 Peaceful 59:20 moderation in all things.

Here is an update on Sister Freeman, our friend who was in a serious car accident when she had a seizure and ran off the road into the trees. She had a punctured lung, 9 broken ribs, 2 broken legs, a broken foot and a broken arm. She has had surgery on her lung. She will have several surgeries in order to try to put all of her broken bones back together. We are still praying for her.

We have two members of our family who are learning how to become welders. Tanner is working for his uncle Mohammed and Jared Ammon is working for his uncle Darren. I hope Tanner will finish school in spite of learning how to weld, and I am so grateful that Jared Ammon is out of the bar!

At 3:00 this afternoon James and I left for town. Here is our plan. Shop and pick up prescriptions from Walmart. James needs to go to Home Depot and Tractor Supply. Tractor Supply to get horse feed. We stopped at Taco Bell for some nourishment and then we drove across town to the Little League field to watch Benson's baseball game. Cammy and all of the kids were there too. Thomas is one of the coaches so he was out on the field. Tildy, Emsley, and Leland came over to say hi as did Liana. Cammy's neighbors had come to the game too so she was sitting by them. Emsley sat by us the entire time. When the neighbors left Cammy and Malea and Tildy came over too. The game was tied 5 to 5 and it was the bottom of the last inning. Benson came up to bat. He got hit by the ball so he got on base. He stole 2nd and 3rd and then he stole home to make the score 6-5 and the umpire calls the game. Benson is the hero! It was a great game to come to. The sky was overcast and there was only a slight breeze. It was perfect. I love visiting with Emsley so much. Cammy had told me she wanted ballet shoes for Christmas so I asked her about them and I asked if she was going to take ballet lessons. She said, no she wasn't going to take dance lessons because she didn't like other people telling her what to do when she dances because she just likes to dance however she wants. She said Tildy pretends to be her teacher and asks her to do stuff she can't do and she tells her, "Tildy, I can't dance like you."

I asked Liana about the fundraiser dinner for girls camp which was held Friday night. She said they made $3,000. After the dinner they always have a dessert auction. A batch of Cammy's cinnamon rolls sold for $150. What a success!

We stopped at Safeway on the way home to get perishable items we didn't get at Walmart. Cammy stopped too because Safeway has London broil on sale for $2.97 a lb. She got several earlier and four more tonight. She is making jerky. I got a couple and when we got home James and I sealed them with our food sealer and put them in the freezer. I looked up some recipes and realize that London broil is round steak and needs to be marinated to tenderize it. I found a recipe that says, the best London broil you will ever taste. Some time this summer when we have company I want to make some London broil.

At home after putting our purchases away I walked and indexed. James just indexed because he already had his steps.

'Christ is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains'
President Russell M. Nelson
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Everything good in life - every potential blessing of eternal significance - begins with faith. Allowing God to prevail in our lives begins with faith that He is willing to guide us. True repentance begins with faith that Jesus Christ has the power to cleanse, heal, and strengthen us.

I love this quote by President Eyring regarding women and the building up of Zion:
"You sisters, your daughters, your granddaughters, and the women you have nurtured will be at the heart of creating that society of people who will join in glorious association with the Savior. You will be an essential force in the gathering of Israel and in the creation of a Zion people who will dwell in peace in the New Jerusalem."
- October 2020 General Conference.

James needed help with cutting some boards to use when he pours concrete at D. Elkins. He asked Anthony if he could come for a few minutes to help him. Anthony is helping his friend Forest recover from his fire. Forest raises calves to sell to ranchers at shows. These are calves from prize-winning bulls. Beef cattle that Forest sells for breeding stock.

Since Anthony didn't have time to come, I was asked to help with the cutting of the boards. James didn't start until late this afternoon. I helped him was several boards and then at 5:15 I had to stop to get ready to go to our "Come Follow Me" lesson at the Goodman's. I took a shower and was doing my hair when James came in at 5:45 to ask if the meeting was at 6 or 6:30. It's at 6. He took a quick shower and got ready faster than I've ever seen him get ready. We arrived at the Goodman's right at 6 and we were not the last to arrive. The Crane's were behind us.

Since it has been awhile since we've all been together we took some time to visit before settling down to study the lesson. Here are some things we discussed: Vicky, Barbara's sister, is not with us tonight. She is in Utah visiting family. She asked Owen if he would water her flowers. She said she would be back with family members who are helping her pack up and move back to Utah. She moved down here because she felt like her kids were ignoring her, and now they want her back. She has been here since November and just this month moved into the Cavco home that Pierce and Barbara bought and were renting to her. We also discussed other possible renters for the home, such as, the Reynolds'. Barbara said she likes the Reynolds' but they had goats and chickens, etc. and she didn't think that would work out. We also talked about the Brown's, a new couple who moved in to the ward recently. He was a bishop in St. Johns and also an attorney in the valley. James wanted to be their ministering brother but Chuck said he was taking them.

The Goodman's two dogs were at the back door when Barbara opened it. One is black and the other is brown. They are black mouth Curs and are cattle dogs and Barbara says they have lots of energy. Pierce went over and sprayed them with water from a spray bottle and then shut the door. I wonder if that's a single for be quiet.

Once we started the lesson which is based on D&C 58-59 Chuck had a question. He's a convert and doesn't have the background in the Church that most of us have. He said of Missouri was where we were supposed to build the city of Zion why weren't more members moving back there. Owen, I thought, gave the best answer. He said we have been asked to build up the stakes of Zion wherever we live and to establish a people of Zion in our wards and stakes. The time for gathering to Missouri has not yet come.

In section 59 we discussed keeping the Sabbath day holy. We had a discussion as to whether it was all right to do ministering visits on the Sabbath. In the lesson it refers to a talk by President Nelson, "The Sabbath is a Delight." Here is what he says:
"When I have to make a decision whether or not an activity is appropriate for the Sabbath, I simply ask myself, 'What sign do I want to give to God?'
"Make the Sabbath a delight by rendering service to others, especially those who are not feeling well or those who are lonely or in need. Lifting their spirits will lift yours as well."

This talk by President Nelson is excellent. He talks about quality family time and teaching children the gospel on the Sabbath.

We had coconut cake for dessert. We thanked Barbara and Pierce for their hospitality. They are leaving this week to go to the graduation of their oldest granddaughter in Utah. Pierce apologized to Chuck for not being here on Thursday to help move the Finnell's. Chuck told him not to worry about it because he knows he is always serving and then told him that family comes first.

Back at home I finished getting my 12,000 steps and I finished up my indexing for today.

Our dear prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, said in our last general conference: "During these perilous times of which the Apostle Paul prophesied, Satan is no longer even trying to hide his attacks on God's plan. Emboldened evil abounds. Therefore, the only way to survive spiritually is to be determined to let God prevail in our lives, to learn to hear His voice, and to use our energy to help gather Israel."

'Our Personal Savior'
Elder Michael John U. Teh
Of the Seventy
"What think ye of Christ?" I am realizing that how intimately I know the Savior significantly influences my ability to hear Him as well as how I respond. A few years ago, Elder David A. Bednar asked the following questions as part of his remarks: "Do we only know about the Savior, or are we increasingly coming to know Him? How do we come to know the Lord?"

The Living Christ
P#2
He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:3). Though sinless, He was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. He "went about doing good" (Acts 10:38), yet was despised for it. His gospel was a message of peace and goodwill. He entreated all to follow HIs example. He walked the roads of Palestine, healing the sick, causing the blind to see, and raising the dead. He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our premortal existence, the purpose of our life on earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of God in the life to come.

Adam when he was 2:
"Wanna watch a Widard Woz?"

James left around 7:15 for ward conference with Chuck. I worked on Saturday's blog post and was able to finished before it was time to get ready for church. The Tesarek's sat by the Halcomb's so we sat by the Wallace's. James said we were asked to say the prayers. Brother Grapp came by and said Sister Barton wanted to say the opening prayer so he asked which one of us wanted to say the closing. James was having problems with his voice but he persevered and was able to say a nice prayer.

Brother Patterson was back again today to have us sustain a new member to the high council. This new person is Brother Skousen's brother from the Wagon Wheel ward. David Eric Skousen.

The Umphress's were the speakers today. Bailey and Gracie were the youth speakers. Bailey spoke on the fourth Article of Faith and Gracie spoke on the third. They did a good job. Sister Umphress spoke on Elder Wakolo's talk, "God Loves His Children." Brother Wakolo shares three specific ways our Heavenly Father manifests His love for us, His children. First, relationships with God and family manifest His love, because our ties to them are eternal.
Second, He manifests His love to His children by calling prophets.
Third, chastening can be a manifestation of God's love for His children.
The Umphress's are a junior rodeo family. All four of their children ride horses. They have been traveling and have been in Texas recently. Sister Umphress stressed that they do most everything together, along with her parents. She said that being with her family is what makes her the most happy. A prophets voice can be a source of strength and inspiration. Homes can become personal sanctuaries of faith. Are we willing to receive chastening from the Lord? Your Savior is stronger than your sorrow. Our Savior is our truest and greatest friend.
Brother Umphress spoke on Elder Dube's talk, "Pressing Toward the Mark." What motivated Paul to keep his faith in spite of his trials?
Elder Holland welcomes Elder Dube. "His love and embrace warmed me up and helped me to feel the spirit of belonging, the spirit of brotherhood. Elder Dube's mother: "It is up to God if the pain goes away. Never give up!"

Brother Tesarek taught the lesson in Elders Quorum/Relief Society based on Brother Gong's conference address "Room in the Inn." Brother Tesarek was baptized a member of the Church six years ago today. He is an excellent teacher. He was prepared, he asked questions and got lots of participation, and I could feel the Spirit when he taught. Here are some notes that I took:
First we discussed the parable of the Good Samaritan found in Luke 10:30. We then determined what each part of the parable represented:
Road/Thieves - Our life; Traveler - Our life/others lives; Good Samaritan - Jesus; Inn - the Church; Inn host - me/you; Wine/oil - ordinances; Return to pay the bill - the Savior at the Second Coming.
Five Things we learn about Jesus Christ and His Church:
1. We all have something to contribute. We need each other.
2. He asks us to make His Inn a place of grace and space, where each can gather, with room for all.
3. Perfection is in Jesus Christ.
4. We become part of a gospel community centered in Jesus Christ.
5. God loves His children in our different backgrounds and circumstances.

This afternoon after lunch and rest time I came in to work on my blog and to index. While doing so I listened to a talk given by Sheri Dew at a Women's Conference when she was in the General Relief Society Presidency. Her hair was brown and she looked so much younger. I guess I did back in those days too. The basis of her talk was choosing the Savior's plan and Catching the Vision. "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Light is a key to vision. Improve vision by improving faith.

We FaceTimed with Jared, Charlie, and Kacey this afternoon. Jared told us all about the house they are buying and how it is a fixer upper. It closes on the 21st of June and they plan on moving the next week. Kacey is selling things on Facebook Marketplace. Just this weekend they have sold over $500 worth of "stuff."

Charlie was so cute. She wanted to see Luna so I took the phone out to James. She had on a princess shirt and we talked about the princesses. She also had an old Elmo that was popular before Tickle Me Elmo that Kacey had saved. This Elmo says the alphabet when you push on his stomach. Charlie just laughed and laughed. So cute. Charlie wanted her daddy to read her a story so we said goodbye. I so enjoyed Charlie this time!

James watered all of the trees he planted this afternoon and got lots of steps. My goal for Sunday's is to get at least 4,000 steps. I began listening to the talk Barbara Morgan Gardner gave at this year's women's conference regarding prophets. It was so good but I didn't finish but will finish in the morning. It was a wonderful Sabbath day!

Favorite of all time!
