Collin and Wendy DeWitt at the MTC
map pointing out their mission location in
the Carribean.

I worked with Collin in the YM/YW program in Vernon and he was also our home teacher.  They will be great missionaries!

Cub Scout
Day Camp

Evan, Joshua, Elijah

Sheri went to day camp today.  She said there was no one she would rather brave 100 degree temperatures with than these boys.

Alex and Seth worked in the kitchen today, cleaning out cupboards and putting in shelf paper.  We have more spices in our spice cupboard than anyone could use in a life time!

For lunch today I had a flatbread sandwich from Quiznos and for dinner I made a roast.

James worked on drywall in the laundry room.  I took quiz #5 for my constitution class and got 100%.  Woohoo!

Cub Scout Day Camp with
Joshua and Alex and Elijah from our ward

Stacy went today and said Joshua had a blast.
You wouldn't know if from looking at this picture.

James and I took a load of stuff to Goodwill and then afterwards we went to Cheesecake Factory to use our last gift card  This time I had chicken costelletto with asparagus and lemon sauce.  It was delicious!

I read an article today entitled: "The Threats to Religious Liberty From Current International Conflicts".  According to this article the three biggest threats to our religious liberty are: 1.) Big government 2.) Radical, Militant Islamists, and 3.) Same sex marriage.

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." Voltaire

James and I went to Quizno's for lunch.  I haven't been there for a long time and I forgot how good this flatbread sandwiches are.

I went visiting teaching to Karen Payne's this afternoon.  Bunny Miner was supposed to meet me there but she was too tired after working all day so I went by myself.  I gave Karen the same message I gave Gerry yesterday only she got white roses instead of an orchid plant.

Tonight was Chandler High School's graduation.  We had two members of our family graduating:
Congratulations Joe!

Congratulations Seth!

I was dizzy and nauseated this morning so I went back to bed.  Note to self: "don't take Tramadol on an empty stomach."

I did manage to make it to my visiting teaching appointment with Gerry Price at 1:30.  I gave a message from Elder Cook's conference talk and gave this quote as a handout along with a small orchid plant.

I knew Gerry's maiden name was Mattice.  I went to college with a girl names Kathy Mattice, so I asked her if she knew a Kathy Mattice.  She said: "Yes, she's my older sister"  Kathy and her husband Leon Stock, who is from Show Low and graduated the same year I did from Snowflake, live in Casa Grande.  It's a small world!

I also got a call from my friend Karen Schneider this afternoon.  She said her visiting teacher is from Show Low and knows me.  Her name is Loretta Willis.  Loretta was also in my graduating class and is a dear friend.  Her mother was also friends with my mother.

I made a stop at Chase Bank and the Dollar Store for cards and cash to send to my graduating Vernon girls.  Jordyn and Trenda are graduating from high school, and Alice from 8th grade.

I could barely walk this evening because the bottom of my feet were swollen and hurt so badly.

They sacrificed everything so we can be free.
Thank you to all those who have served or are now serving
in the armed forces.

I went with James this morning out to Dan Taylor's to pick up our cabinet doors.  Dan told us he couldn't find the right color of lacquer to match the old ones but James told him to go ahead and spray them.  We definitely have two-toned cabinets.  Stacy and Paul don't like them, James does, of course, and I'm not sure what I think.  It seems that Murphy's Law is alive and well in this home renovation project.

A new trend, two-toned cabinets

Dallin worked in the kitchen today for several hours cleaning out drawers and cupboards and putting in new shelf paper.  I also cleaned out several cupboards.

James had a meeting in Phoenix today about a job for Bowen.  I told him to please not schedule any jobs until we get this house on the market and he promised me he wouldn't.

James and I started our new book today. It's another one by the author Sarah Ladd.
Another good book

We had dinner at Chikfila this evening.

Brian spent the day at the Indianapolis 500
I am sure there is some significance to kissing the brick walkway,
but I am not sure what it is.
The house that Peyton Manning built, or so Brian says.
Brian says he's short, but he's still dreamy!

James was too sick to go to church today, but he made smiley and frowny faces for me to use in Primary.

T'he Chases's took the second row today in the chapel so I sat near the back next to the Lieb family.  Brooklyn sat by me and spilled her goldfish all over the chapel floor.

Cindy Lewis and Lynette Braddock were the speakers in sacrament meeting.  They spoke on religious liberty and obedience.  It was a good meeting.

Sheri helped me in Primary.  I only had three kids, but one of them was Malachi so I needed help.  Malachi, Brooklyn, and Liam.  Our lesson was on Nephi building the ship to come to the promised land.  I made each of the kids a paper origami boat.  I think it was their favorite thing about the lesson.

 A boat or a sailor's hate?

Came home and had a green chili burro from Burger House for lunch and then took a much needed nap.

Around 5 pm our home teacher, Kyle Tolman came by for a visit.  He brought his wife Nancy and since I am her visiting teacher she suggested that once again this count as our visit.  I feel a little uncomfortable about this but she insisted.  We discussed President Monson's talk on temples.  They are teaching the temple prep class in our ward and tonight is their first lesson.

I got to watch these two superstars play their last soccer game of the season this morning!  They are awesome!
We missed Rowan and hope he will play with them in the fall.

Before going to the soccer game this morning I went to the 7am session at the Gilbert temple.  I gave a family name to a sister in the dressing room, so I got two names done.  Sheri said she would have gone with me.  I should have asked.  We have a date in two weeks to go again.  Maybe I can get Kim to go with me this week.

I came home and worked on my Primary lesson this afternoon.  It's on obedience and Nephi building the ship so his family can sail to the promised land.  There are lots of ideas on Sugardoodle for this lesson.

James got home around 6:30 from the cabin and brought me some dinner and lunch and dinner tomorrow from Burger House.  Yumm!

He really is sick, with no voice and a bad sore throat.

Sheri went to visit Darrel and Trina this evening and sent me these pictures of Lola.

Such a cutie!
Sheri's dinner date.

Also, Miss Ruby lost another tooth.  That's two in a week's time.
She is so proud!

Because James wasn't feeling well, we went to bed earlier than usual tonight.
