I woke up in the middle of the night because I thought I heard a noise.  I looked out the window and I swear I saw a herd of elk go running by.  I still don't know if it was a dream or if I actually saw them.  I guess I will never know. The next morning I went outside to look for tracks.  There are plenty of tracks but none are very discernable and I'm not much of a tracker.

I was at the church by 7:45 to take girls to youth conference.  Tina Allen came too but since there were only 3 boys and five girls going Brother Diewald and I got everyone in our cars, including the bags.  We had a prayer and then we headed for St. Johns where the youth conference is being held.  Mary Swift, Trenda Wilhelm, and Maddie Carroll rode with me.  I enjoyed visiting with Mary on the way over.  We dropped off suitcases at the stake center and then the young women and men went to the St. Johns high school.  They will be staying in homes of members tonight and tomorrow night and then Saturday after the testimony meeting it will be time to go home.  I hope they have an awesome time!

Before leaving town I stopped at El Cupido's for a mini grand breakfast burrito.  This is gas station food at it's best!!

I came home and packed for my trip to the valley and then on to El Paso.  I was so tired and I called James to tell him how tired I was.  He convinced me to take a nap, which I did.  Before leaving I watered all the plants and trees.  I couldn't get the water turned off in the front planter and I'm afraid I called and yelled at James.  After I said a prayer and calmed down I was able to get the water off.  I had to apologize to James.

Drove the Payson way and ate lots of snacks to stay awake.  Stopped at Deseret Book on Gilbert and Southern to buy Emmy's scriptures and a tote.  It was after seven when I finally got to Chandler.
My siatic nerve in my left butt cheek is killing me and made it very difficult to go to sleep.

Alex and Michale left for the trek today.
 A couple of pios.

Happy 63rd Birthday to my brother Harold.  He is a great guy.  He is always so willing to help and is such a good husband, father and grandpa.  Harold, I love you!

I actually packed lunch and dinner for James before he left this morning.  I made him a couple of tuna sandwiches, and put all the left over beans in a container so he could heat them up for dinner.  Also included in his care package: almond cookies, 2 cans of Dr. Pepper, and some honey and cinnamon to go with his herbal tea.

I got a call this morning from my neighbor Kathy Crane.  She told me to look outside and I would see a big herd of elk.  She told me to look out the north window.  It took me awhile to figure out which way was north but when I did this is what I saw:
I counted over 35 and there were still more.
This picture doesn't show you how beautiful they are, especially when they run.
Of course I had to call James and tell him.  He wanted to know how many bulls there were.  Darned if I know.  After talking with him on the phone I looked outside and there was no trace of the herd.

I exercised on my rebounder today while watching the Pioneer Woman cooking show.  She gave some really good ideas for 16 minute meals that I am definitely going to try.

This afternoon I paid bills.  Boy is it ever expensive to be alive.  In order to get me through this ordeal I watched some Hallmark movies.  There are some good ones out there.  My favorite today was: "Notes from the Heart Healer."

I got a call from James this evening.  He seems pretty discouraged because his back is really hurting and on top of working hard all day he has to come home to Chandler and fix a broken waterline.  I told him I loved him and that he should get a good nights sleep and things would look better in the morning.
