I may have posted this before, but it
bears repeating.

While James was cleaning outside he made a discovery when he saw a cord hanging down from the roof of the house.  He went up on the roof and discovered someone had a pillow and blanket in what I am calling an "upstairs bedroom."  Hmm, I wonder who could have done this?  Any guesses?

I made James some scrambled eggs this morning using a technique I learned on Facebook.  He said they were the best scrambled eggs he has ever eaten.  Why thank you honey, I think so too!  I am going to challenge Stacy to an egg duel because she says that scrambled eggs are her specialty.

Speaking of food, we had Elmer's for lunch.  I love their strips with grated cheese and sauce.  Yumm!

At 2pm I made my way to the Emerald Bay building in Gilbert to attend Addy's guitar and Rowan's piano recital.  There were 45 students and it last 2 hours, but I stayed until the end to see the kids get their awards which included baby marachas and a recorder.  I am sure all the parents are going to appreciate that!
Addy played Malaguena, one of Stacy's recital
pieces back when she took piano lessons.
Rowan played "Mango" on the piano.
Ruby kept teasing Rowan that he forgot to
bring his instrument.  She is their biggest fan!
I tried to get a picture of all the students but
there were just too many!

This little girl was so good!

After the recital I was going to go grocery shopping, but I felt so miserable that I went home and went to bed instead.  I also worked on our Primary lesson for tomorrow which is on prayer.

Michael had a bad fall while he was out running tonight.  He hurt his elbow and got a good dose of road rash.  Hopefully it won't affect him running in Albequerque next week.

Joshua chillin' at the Arizona
Grand Resort.

I was up early with a surprise in my mouth as I take a bite of the second Big Hunk bar I bought yesterday.  I lost my upper right, second from the last crown.  Oh dear, I knew there was a reason not to eat Big Hunks.  Around 5:30 I slipped out to Walmart to get some dental adhesive.  James waited for me to get back before he left for work so he could help me re-insert my crown.  The adhesive did not work.  I was frustrated.  I got another adhesive at Walgreens and it didn't work either.  Dr. Douglas isn't in her office today so I will have to wait until next week to get it replace but in the meantime I have to figure something out or I will have crooked teeth.
The great city of London.
I arrived a little early at the Arizona Arthritis and Rheumetology Center for my infusion appointment.  I wanted to make a doctor's appointment, which I did for May 9th with Tiffany.  I certainly hope this Remicade infusion helps me with the pain in my knees.  I was there for over two hours.
On my way home James called and asked me if I would go by Elmer's and pick up some lunch, which I did.  Two machaca burros and two machaca tacos.  We ate lunch together at home, and then I went out to do some errands while James went back to work.
Here is an interesting lunch.
Redneck Calamari.
I went to the Oreck store and bought some pre-treatment spray for the carpet and ended up spending over $50.  I stopped at Karen Schneider's for Beanie Babies and games.  She's moving and is getting rid of the things she doesn't want or need. She also has a bedroom set and some couches and chairs she wants to sell.  I would love to have them, especially the bed, so I told her to figure out a price and let me know.  Next I went to Deseret Book to get me a new General Conference and Stake Conference journal.
I went back home to take a nap before leaving for home, but my knees hurt too badly so I got up an packed.  I had Stacy and Joshua help me carry my things upstairs.  Joshua was so cute, he carried out three bags of garbage. I said goodbye and went to Sam's Club for gas and CVS for more adhesive.  I also went to Kneader's for dinner, a chicken salad croissant and a chocolate eclair.  Boy that eclair was good!
Saw this car at the temple yesterday.
It made James, Kim, and I laugh.

A truck and trailer almost ran me off the road on the way home.  I am so grateful that someone was looking after me.  It shook me up for quite awhile.  James was about thirty minutes behind me.
We went to bed as soon as we unloaded and put things away.  My right knee hurt so badly I slept on the recliner after James gave me one of his pain pills.  He came and slept by me.  What a sweetie.

should relax me.)

James typed and sent in his bid.  I wonder how long it will take for him to know if he got the job.  I went to the bank and Walmart and mailed our bond renewal for the state of Arizona.

Sheri stopped on the way to school this morning to let me take a picture of the Egyptian pyramid.
This picture doesn't do it justice.  It's made out
of brown sugar and looks very authentic.

James went to see Rick at Chandler Auto Body about doing a job for him.  One the way home he picked up some machaca burros from Elmer's.  I wasn't going to eat before my dentist appointment but that's just too much temptation.

My appointment with Dr. Douglas was at 1pm.  She is preparing me for a crown.  She did so much grinding and drilling I thought for such there could be nothing left to grind or drill.  Today they just put on the temporary crown.  It was a two hour appointment and boy was I glad when it was over.  I went to CVS to get a drink and saw a former member of our ward in Chandler, Janet Fezzey.

James and I went to dinner at Red Lobster with the gift card we got from Dawn for Christmas.  I had Walt's shrimp and garlic shrimp scampi.  James had the crab stuffed flounder with scallops.

We got to see Adam just for a minute today.  Just enough time for me to give him a hug and for him to confirm that he could come to the cabin the end of February with a few friends.

I helpoed James with touchup painting in the living room this evening.  I also made a trip to Walmart for lightbulbs only to discover there was an entire bag full on the living room floor.

Two of my dearest friends had pictures on Facebook today:
 Ralph and Jean Lamoreaux
Jean was my counselor when I was the stake
Relief Society President.
Karen and Lance Schneider in Paris.
Karen is my very dear friend from Chandler.

I stayed up late last night paying bills and now I am up early getting ready to go to the valley.  We left the house around 6:20 and arrive in Chandler in plenty of time for James's 10am dental appointment.  He is getting his teeth cleaned.  I dropped him off while I went shopping at Target and Hobby Lobby.

After James's appointment we went to Elmer's Tacos to get our machaca tacos and machaca burros and strips.  We barely get out of there before the Chandler high kids get there.  We went to Sheri's to eat.  No one else was there.  Sheri came in while we were taking a nap.  I go with her to pick up Evan and Max from Bright Beginnings.  Max seems agitated, and grumpy.  A stop a Sonic for some food and drink helped.  Max likes to tease Evan when he is in one of his moods.  Sheri takes Max with her to pick up Ben while I help Evan with his homework.  Evan is so much happier when he is not being teased.

When the older boys got home from school, Alex, Michael, and Joe they sing accapella for us, along with Dallin.  They are really good.

We have a domino effect when we stay with Sheri.  We sleep in Ben's bed, Ben sleeps in Max's, Max sleeps in Evans and Evan sleeps with his parents.

A cute picture of Joshua and his pets.

James attempts to call some elk this morning.  A bull answers him but we can't see him.  We did see several cow elk.  James takes the Razr out for a ride on our property and sees two pine trees the elk have destroyed.

James and i left for the valley a little after 10 this morning to make it to my 2 o'clock dental appointment.  James went with me to my appointment and waited in the waiting room.  I told him it would only be about thirty minutes but I was wrong, it took over an hour.  The hygeniest, Jackie, took x-rays, plus she likes to talk.  James made himself an appointment in a couple of weeks for a cleaning and I re-scheduled my next cleaning for January.  Our next stop was Elmer's for a late lunch, early dinner.  We love their machaca tacos and burros!

We stop by our neighborhood to say hi.  Trina is on her way to work and is dropping her kids off at Sheri's so we get to see them for a few minutes.

Evan was student of the week this week.  It was stressful for him and Sheri both.  Read Sheri's blog post for further details.  Evan says he wants to be a vet and take care of animals when he grows up.  His favorite food is pizza and his favorite color is orange.

After our visit we decided to check in to the Windmill Hotel on Chandler Blvd. just west of the Chandler mall.  We stayed in room 130.  We were tired from our trip and just relaxed in front of the two TV's this evening. We had a hard time getting used to watching the commercials.

Friday, March 1, 2013

I started out March with a shamrock shake from McDonald's.  You can only get them during March and I wanted to make sure I got mine early.
Max stayed home from school today with a slight fever.  I checked on him a couple of times and then took him to lunch at the place of his choice: Subway.
Does this boy look sick to you?
This afternoon I picked up Darrel and while I was out his house I got to see this two:

Ruby and Creed are cousins and best friends.
Darrel and I drove to Apache Junction to pick up the U-Haul truck Harold arranged for us to use this weekend to move furniture to the cabin.  We had a difficult time finding the place until we called 1-800 UHaul.  We got a 17 foot truck and a car hauler.
Thanks Harold for the U-Haul truck.
Paul, Darrel, and James did most all of the moving of furniture.  It was most impressive that the three of them moved the piano by themselves.  To show my gratitude for their help I bought dinner for Paul, Darrel, and James at Elmer's.

This evening The Oxford Clerics (Dallin and Kevin) played at a little coffee house in Chandler called SoZo.
Two very talented guys.
In other news ASU has come out with a new Sparky that no one seems to like, including me.
I think he looks evil.
He he is with Jeffrey Maxwell.

Friday, December 7, 2012

James and I had scriptures and prayers together before he left for work this morning.  I spent the morning working at the dining room table in our house in Chandler, where I use to sit and work when I lived there.
For lunch I went to Elmer's and ordered two machaca burros and two machaca tacos for lunch.  I came home and ate my burro and saved the rest for James when he gets home.
I love this Chandler icon.
I beat the high school rush by 15 minutes!  They already had tons of chips, etc. set out for the high schoolers.
This is a sight I haven't seen too many times.  Usually Kim does all the lights on our tree.
Even though the picture is blurry I had to include it.
Today is Paul's 42nd birthday.  He is in San Francisco for work.  I bought him this card today.  It said: Sorry the entertainment for your party had an accident on the way over.
Paul hates clowns.
I did some shopping at Walmart and Sam's Club today, and also raided my downstairs Christmas closet and loaded my car clear full except for the front seat.  I followed James over to Tempe Toyota where he had an appointment with Gail's son Erik to fix the differential which was leaking.  On the way back to Chandler we stopped at Rudy's BBQ and got some moist brisket, beans, potato salad, and creamed corn.  I took it home to Stacy and her boys but they didn't eat much.  James ate his share though and so did I.  We took the rest of it home with us.
This evening I took Ben on one half of his birthday date.  We went to Barnes and Noble where he bought a couple of books and had money to spare.  On the way home I asked him what his favorite Christmas song was and he said "Frosty", but I don't hear it very often.  I turned on the radio and guess what was playing?  Frosty.  I told Ben they played it just for him.  Ben will be 13 on the 16th of December.  He is such a sweet, gentle and kind boy.  I love him.  It was after 7 when I left for home.  James already left.  We are going home this evening because I made the mistake of turning the heaters off at the cabin and James is afraid if it gets too cold the pipes will break and freeze.  I made it home without falling asleep.
Our friends, Tim and Katy Glemser had a baby boy today.  They named him Kieter pronounced Kiter.  They also have a little girl named Alice.

The fun today began after 5 pm. James and I had dinner at Elmer's. That's always fun! I had my usual, the machaca burro. James had two machaca tacos and we shared a small order of strips. Funny but when I'm inside of Elmer's I feel like I really could be in old Mexico.
After dinner we drove over to the Freestone Park Rec Center where Addy takes her dance classes. Addy's teacher invited parents and whoever else wanted to come to watch the girls perform their dance. Addy looked so cute. She had a fun hairdo, and she had on a lavender tutu. She had the biggest smile which revealed the fact that she has lost one of her front teeth and the other one is very loose. The dance was done to a Rihanna song and it was fun to watch the girls perform.
After the performance, we took Addy, Rowan, and Ruby home with us so Trina and Darrel could go out with Aaron and his new wife Kary. We stopped at Sonic and got the kids some dinner. When we got home Ruby wanted to watch the "Boots" movie so I borrowed Joshua's "Puss and Boots" and put it on in our bedroom. I made the kids some popcorn and then added some candy. A few minutes in to the movie Ruby was totally disinterested. I found out later that the "Boots" movie she wanted was "Dora and Boots." Sorry Ruby. I went in to the kitchen for something and Addy came in and said she had lost her other front tooth and she didn't know where it was. We looked on the bed and when we couldn't find it Granpa went out in the care and found it on the floor of the backseat. I guess it came out while Addy was eating her corndog. Addy looks so cute with both front teeth missing!
