"While faith is not a perfect knowledge," Elder Neal A. Maxwell said, "it brings a deep trust in God, whose knowledge is perfect!"
Even in turbulent times, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is gritty and resilient. It helps us sift through unimportant distractions. It encourages us to keep moving along the covenant path. Faith pushes through discouragement and allows us to face the future with resolve and squared shoulders. It prompts us to ask for rescue and relief as we pray to the Father in the name of His Son. And when prayerful pleas seem to go unanswered, our persistent faith in Jesus Christ produces patience, humility, and the ability to reverently utter the words "Thy will be done."

Restoration Proclamation
P1 S2
God the Father has given us the divine birth, the incomparable life, and the infinite atoning sacrifice of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

I actually slept in my bed last night, the first time in quite awhile.

It is snowing this morning. I have pain this morning, but it is not unbearable. I ate first thing and took a muscle relaxer, prednisone and tramadol. Pierce and Stacy said not to take the tramadol while I was using muscle relaxers but Dr. Brian said it was fine so I am doing it.

I worked on my blog and did my morning chores. Texted with Kacey about Autumn's panic attacks which sound very similar to Kim's. I learned a lot about what Kim has gone through by texting her and learning of what she is doing now for her health. Kacey is with Autumn and trying to help her.

I'm still not up to walking my full 12,000 steps. At one point I walked 15 minutes and had a bad cramp in my foot and calf.

Kacey suggested we listen to a talk by Elder Bednar which he gave at BYU yesterday regarding miracles and temple service. It was sooo good!

James lost 250 indexing names and is very sad. I told him he needed to shake it off, realize what he did wrong and never do it again, and move on. He was finally able to do that.

Tamara went to help clean at the Bowen's today with two other sisters. They worked all day and were only able to do half the kitchen. I suggested that we needed to do some training with both Heather and Sean regarding how to keep your home organized and clean. Tamara agreed. Heather will be down for about six weeks when she gets home because of her surgery so we will need to take the slow and gradual approach.

I heard a rumor that my friend, Debbie Vance's brother, Darrel Tarwater, had passed away. Debbie's other brother, Neal, is Kim's bishop so I asked Kim is she had heard anything and she said she had not.

'Watch Ye Therefore, And Pray Always'
President M. Russell Ballard
Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
During the past few months I have had the impression come to me that the best way to help the current world situation is for all people to rely more fully upon God and to turn their hearts to Him through sincere prayer. Humbling ourselves and seeking heaven's inspiration to endure or conquer what is before us will be our safest and surest way to move confidently forward through these troubling times.
I invite you to pray always. Pray for your family. Pray for the leaders of nations. Pray for the courageous people who are on the front lines in the current battles against social, environmental, political, and biological plagues that impact all people throughout the world: the rich and the poor, the young and the old.

Restoration Proclamation
P1 S1
We solemnly proclaim that God loves His children in every nation of the world.

Some snow today, not much.

I was up at 2 a.m. to take a muscle relaxer and eat some cereal. At 8 a.m. I took a tramadol and ate some enchiladas. Thank goodness I can still eat!

I managed to get myself ready for my 11:00 doctor's appointment in Show Low. We couldn't get in to see Dr. Moffat until Friday so we took an appointment with a nurse practitioner named Brian for today.

I have high blood pressure, and I need to lose some weight. That was basically what I was told at the beginning of my visit. When I told Dr. Brian (I know he's not a doctor, but that's what I'm calling him) my symptoms he said that it definitely sounded like my sciatic nerve. He gave me a prescription for the same muscle relaxers Chuck gave me and a five day prescription for prednisone. He also gave me an order to go get a back X-ray at the outpatient building next to the hospital.

James dropped me off for my X-ray while he went to get some hot and sour soup and then to pick up my prescriptions at Walmart.
It took me awhile for the X-ray but when I was finished I ended up waiting outside in the cold for James to get back. I told him I needed to go to Walmart for a few things and I wished he had waited to pick up the prescriptions. Oh well, he was only trying to help.

I took one prednisone pill and wow, what a difference. I have minimal pain.

This afternoon my ministering sister Barbara and her sister Vickie brought me dinner. Barbara had made creamy potato and chicken soup. Vickie made rolls and a strawberry cream pie. Everything was delicious and I had a nice visit with these two sweet sisters.

Stacy called today to tell me of her visit to the pain center which helped her with her back pain. She was feeling so good and in such good spirits it almost makes me want to go there.

James is an indexing machine! This is what he does when he has a chance to sit down.

The Howard's have agreed to trade one of Luna's offspring, a filly, for some work James is going to do for them. He will be building them a gate for their property in exchange for the horse. We are excited. She is only two and will need to be broke, but James can break her himself.

I watched a Cindy Busby Hallmark movie I had never seen before called, "Follow Me to Daisy Hill." It was a good one. I also watched her and Ryan Pavey in the second Mr. Darcy movie, "Marrying Mr. Darcy."

Restoration Proclamation
P9 S3
We testify that those who prayerfully study the message of the Restoration and act in faith will be blessed to gain their own witness of its divinity and of its purpose to prepare the world for the promised Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Day #3 of Misery spent on the recliner. James is trying so hard to do everything. He went into town to fill a prescription Pierce wrote for me. He also thinks my cramps are a lack of magnesium. He got some magnesium along with the muscle relaxer Pierce prescribed and something called Theraworx which is for joint pain and inflammation. It's a foam you spray on and rub in. Barbara and Donna both say it works instantly. It does, but like everything else, it doesn't last.

James brought me a taco and I also had some chili for lunch. Chuck's muscle relaxer works a little so I was anxious to try the one Pierce prescribed. I honestly felt like it didn't do a thing and I was so disappointed. I'm still miserable.

I ordered chicken enchiladas from a family in the ward, the Umphress's who are trying to raise money for their girls rodeo fees. They were originally supposed to be delivered between 4:30-5:30 but didn't get here until after 6:30. James had left for "CFM" at the Goodman's so I had them put the enchiladas on the chair outside where I left the money. The enchiladas were already warm so I just put a plateful in the microwave to heat up a little. They were delicious! So glad I ordered them. James liked them too. He brought me back a root beer float and a piece of lemon cake from the Goodman's.

I can't get comfortable. I sit/lay on the recliner and then I get up and walk around with the walker for awhile. James gave me a blessing. It was so sweet. I felt better afterwards.

I watched Meeting Mr. Darcy this evening. I love the dogs in this movie. They are cavalier spaniels.

'Be Of Good Cheer'
President Dallin H. Oaks
On a personal basis, each of us struggles individually with some of the many adversities of mortality, such as poverty, racism, ill health, job losses or disappointments, wayward children, bad marriages or no marriages, and the effects of sin-our own or others.'
Yet, in the midst of all of this, we have the heavenly counsel to be of good cheer and to find joy in the principles and promises of the gospel and the fruits of our labors. That counsel has always been so, for prophets and for all of us. We know this from the experiences of our predecessors and what the Lord said to them.

Restoration Proclamation
P9 S2
We affirm that God is making known His will for His beloved sons and daughters.

James stayed home from church with me today and we listened to our wards Zoom broadcast. Bishop Hunsaker conducted. He read a letter from the Stake Presidency regarding a special fast on our next fast Sunday.  Here is a copy of the letter from the stake presidency:

Sincerely, The White Mountain Stake Presidency

Brother Steve Owens from the high council was the main speaker today after the two elders assigned to our ward bore their testimonies. Brother Owens's talk was based on Elder Whiting's talk from the last General Conference, "Becoming Like Him". Here are some thoughts from that talk:

What if "even as I am" is exactly and precisely what is meant by the Savior? Then what? What level of effort would we be willing to give to invite His miraculous power into our lives so that we can change our very nature?

As we progress, we become more complete, finished, and fully developed. Such teaching is not based on any one sect's doctrines but comes directly from the Master Himself. It is through this lens that lives should be lived, communications considered, and relationships fostered. Truly, there is no other way to heal the wounds of broken relationships or of a fractured society than for each of us to more fully emulate the Prince of Peace.

The first step on the path to becoming like Jesus Christ is to have the desire to do so. To develop the desire, we must know who Jesus Christ is. We must know something of His character, and we must look for His attributes in scripture, worship services, and other holy places. As we begin to know more of Him, we will see His attributes reflected in others. This will encourage us on our own quest, for if others can attain in some measure His attributes, so can we.

James's leg and foot rubs are the best. I got some muscle relaxers today from a friend and they have helped with pain. I will still be going to the doctor's on Tuesday. The doctor's will be closed tomorrow for Martin Luther King, Jr. day.

Happy Birthday Anna!
