That they may lay down their weapons of bloodshed, and cease their rebellions.

We left for Globe somewhere between 6:30 and 6:40 this morning after having a family prayer. See you tomorrow Tom. I put his food and water outside by our bedroom door.

James is worried about slow traffic. It's funny that we have seen two live bear in the past couple of weeks and today we saw a dead one lying in the road. The most bears in a row that I have ever seen.

We made it in plenty of time to the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe. James's appointment was at 9:00. We were directed to the outpatient waiting area for the cath lab. They too James back right away to prep him. His nurse was Lorraine who had the cutest pink plastic glasses on. James waited for 5 1/2 hours to be called back to have the procedure done. Dr. Memon had some kind of an emergency with a patient whose heart stopped beating.

I went out and got some lunch so I could take some Tramadol. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich from the cafeteria and got a bottle of Smart water. I ate half the sandwich and then got a Hershey with almonds candy bar. I then went back to be with James until they finally came to get him, which was after 2:00.

I went and got a soda in the cafeteria and then went back to the waiting room,  which I had all to myself.  I charged my phone and took some journal notes. Someone came to get me around 3:40. James had to have two stints put in. One artery was at 80% and the other was at 99% blockage. He was close to having a heart attack.

We sat in the surgery prep room while they were getting an overnight ready for him. They brought him something to eat and then he was transferred to his overnight room. Once he was in his room I went up to the Copper Bistro to get something to eat. I had considered get a room at the Travel Lodge but it would have cost me over $133 and I just didn't want to spend that money. I will just stay in the room with James. His room number is 1104.

I ordered shrimp scampi, and a salad for dinner. I also got a small loaf of brown bread. While I was eating James called and said that Dr. Memon gave him permission to go home this evening. I'm sure glad I didn't get that room at the Travel Lodge!

At first James said they wanted him to stay until 8 p.m. but we were able to leave by 7. I drove him home and we arrived at 9 p.m. It was so good to be home! We will get his prescriptions filled tomorrow.

And cause that the remnants of Jacob, who have been cursed and smitten because of their transgression, be converted from their wild and savage condition to the fulness of the everlasting gospel;

I felt a little better this morning as I took my dose of Leflunomide which I started last Thursday. When well I feel a lot better?

I have my own headings for this week's reading assignment in "Come Follow Me."
Alma 43 - Prophets provide protection & direction
Alma 44 - Faith is a power to be reckoned with
Alma 45 - The Word of God in time of War
Alma 46 - Place reminders of Covenants everywhere
Alma 47 - Don't come down ... not even a little bit
Alma 48 - Spiritual Preparation first
Alma 49 - If Ye Are Prepared Ye Shall Not Fear
Alma 50 - Watchmen on the Tower
Alma 51 - Beware of Pride
Alma 52 - Don't Leave Your Stronghold

James talked me into going to town with him for nails for the Hipps's job and wire for the fence. We ate at Culver's where James had his cod fillet sandwich and I had a single Butter Burger with eveything on it except cheese and mayo. It was quite tasty but it could have used a little mustard. James got the wrong size screws at Kays so we had to go back to get the right ones just before they closed. They close at 4 for some odd reason.

It was raining in Vernon when we left for town but not at our place. While we were gone it looked like it rained hard from the Hunsaker's to our house. Tom was happy to see us and to get fed.

James went back over to Hipps's with Paul Peeler to do a little work before dark. James fell off the scaffolding and thinks he may have cracked his rib. Not good news since he is scheduled to have a procedure done tomorrow. He's still having chest pains along with all of his other aches and pains. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

James went out after dark to work on the fence so we can leave the horses out to graze tomorrow while we are gone. Jarrod MacArthur saw James and stopped to help him.

Chuck and Owen Peeler came over to give James a blessing. Jarrod kept working on the fence when James went in. He told James he wishes he could give him a blessing. He said he is working on becoming worthy.

Owen was voice to the blessing and James felt really good about it afterwards. We are grateful to have righteous priesthood holders who live close by.

Jarrod finished fixing the fence good enough to keep the horses in at least for awhile. Thank you Jarrod.

Jarrod says Chelsea, his wife is sick, and they don't know what is wrong with her.

Notes & Quotes
"The Book of Mormon makes it clear that all are invited to partake of the Lord's goodness, black and white, bond and free, male and female; ... all are alike unto God. All men are privileged the one like unto the other, and none are forbidden."

James went to work around 7 this morning at the Hipps's. I got up and out of my bedroom before 8 to see Kim and Brian off.

Love these two!

When Kim told me that they made it home safely, I told her it was raining. She texted back, "Why did I ever leave?"

James's meeting with David Chacon postponed until tomorrow. I don't know what happened to Daryl Johnson.

Luna and Apollo got out today and went to the MacArthur's. The cows came in and drank all of the horses water. When James back he chased the cows away, gave the horses more water and locked Apollo in the corral and Luna in the stable. Luna looked so sad as she stood in the corral with her head hung down.

James's chest pain continue. He called Dr. Memon and he has an appointment with him in Globe on Wednesday for an angiogram. Wednesday can't come fast enough.

I managed to get 10,000 steps today as I listened to "The Valet's Secret." James finished up and listened to "The Lady Glass."

Tom slept with me tonight. I better make sure that everyone knows that Tom is our cat.

Rowan sent a thank you for his birthday card.

Listened to "Follow Him" with David Boren, Marian Chase's brother. Marian is in Sheri's ward.

Cheryl Sedig, our Relief Society president has Covid on the busiest week of her life. She is in charge of the auction for the Johnson's fundraiser and had to hand over the reigns to someone else.

Notes & Quotes
"The young Ammonites had a great cause and were valiant in 'the support of the people.' This little force, ed by Helaman, spread great hopes and much joy into the hearts of the experienced Nephite armies. Bishops today can lead their uniquely gifted youth in blessing the ward and gathering Israel. President Russell M. Nelson has taught that this is the mission 'for which they were sent to earth.'"

65 And cause that the remnants of Jacob, who have been cursed and smitten because of their transgression, be converted from their wild and savage condition to the fulness of the everlasting gospel;
66 That they may lay down their weapons of bloodshed, and cease their rebellions.
67 And may all the scattered remnants of Israel, who have been driven to the ends of the earth, come to a knowledge of the truth, believe in the Messiah, and be redeemed from oppression, and rejoice before thee.
68 O Lord, remember thy servant, Joseph Smith, Jun., and all his afflictions and persecutions - how he has covenanted with Jehovah, and vowed to thee, O Mighty God of Jacob - and the commandments which thou hast given unto him, and that he hath sincerely striven to do thy will.

I felt good enough to go to church today. Oh happy day! James and I sat in the back with Kim and Brian. When I say the back I mean the very back row of the last overflow row.

Kerri Halcomb and Katie Hahn were the main speakers in sacrament meeting today. George Wilhelm, who is 9 and Jacob Barrett, Cress & Richard Miller's grandson, who is about the same age as George, both bore their testimonies. It was sweet because Jacob thanked his grandparents for taking care of him.

We have some new people in our ward: the Jensen family and 6 of their 7 children, Amy Bowen, and Scott Cord. The Jensen's were in the Show Low Creek ward. He is a doctor who works from home. They just bought the new white home off of 3144 that I really like.

Pierce got another calling today. He is now an assistant organist along with the two other callings he has, a ward missionary and teacher of the parenting class along with his wife Susan.

Speakers
George Wilhelm
Jesus loves all of us. He sacrificed Himself so we could all have Eternal Life. Faith of the Anti-Nephi-Lehies. My favorite scripture story is in Alma 17 when Ammon defends King Lamoni's flocks.
Jacob Barrett
I am grateful for my grandparents and all that they have done for me. I want to bear testimony that I felt the Holy Ghost when I was baptized.
Kerri Halcomb
"Covenants & Responsibilities" by President Dallin H. Oaks
During the sacrament we make three promises: 1 - to take upon us the name of Christ, 2 - to always remember Him, 3 - to keep His commandments. We also make five covenants in the temple: 1 - the law of obedience, 2 - the law of sacrifice, 3 - the law of the gospel,
4 - the law of chastity, and 5 - the law of consecration. Through our covenants we are protected, blessed, and empowered.
Katie Hahn
"Ladders of Faith" by Elder Larry S. Kacher, April 2022 General Conference. Katie was diagnosed 20 years ago with terminal cancer. The doctor gave her a short time to live. Her father gave her a blessing and she is still here. She has had breast cancer two times since she has been in our ward. Right now she has no hair. I love Katie because she is always so upbeat and positive. She is the Primary secretary. I didn't really take notes during her talk but she did an awesome job.

Kim went to Relief Society with me and Brian went to Elder's Quorum with James. I love it when they stay!

Wendy DeWitt taught the lesson from the talk given by Elder Stevenson in this last general conference, "Bridging the Two Great Commandments." Kim and I sat in the back. Kim was on the row. I sat by Lynda Price and Barbara Tignor was on the other side of Lynda. I invited Catherine Halcomb to sit by us but she said she needed to sit in the front so she could hear.

During Wendy's lesson there was a loud clap of thunder. She looked up at the ceiling and said, "I'm saying it anyway."

It rained hard for a few minutes but by the time we got out, the sun was shining. It didn't even rain at home.

The emphasis of Wendy's lesson was on loving your neighbor and being kind. Several of us shared someone who had influenced our life for good. I talked about Suzanne Kempton.

I fried up some bacon and made BLT's for lunch. They were quite tasty. Kim & Brian had breakfast for lunch and they ate our leftover bacon.

James and I both took nap. After my nap I texted Sister Golly and told her I was having withdrawals because she hadn't sang in church for awhile. She said I was sweet and that there was something in the works. I told her that was great and that I had something to look forward to.

I opened my gifts from Lois & Dawn this afternoon. There was a journal that Dawn had made, a mechanical pencil set, a T-shirt, and a fancy tea set. Oh yes, a homemade card and a $50 Amazon gift card. Wow! I feel blessed and loved.

This evening James and I took a drive with Kim and Brian in the back seat of "Bruce", Brian's Bronco. Our goal was to check out the wildlife.

Up near the turnoff to Christmas Tree Tail we saw a flock of turkeys. Mama's and their babies and some Daddy's too. They were moving to fast for anyone to take pictures. We also saw elk, a bear, and some more elk. It was a fun trip, especially because of the bear, which I happened to see first, by the way, from the backseat and opposite side of the Bronco. Thanks Kim & Brian for taking us since we don't have our Razr right now.

As I was working on my blog this evening I listened to some "Come Follow Me' podcasts, John Hilton III and Kristen Walker Smith.

Notes & Quotes
"Jesus Christ's Atonement can deliver and redeem us from sin. But Jesus Christ also intimately understands our every pain, affliction, sickness, sorrow, separation. In time and eternity, His triumph over death and hell can make all things right. He helps heal the broken and disparaged, reconcile the angry and divided, comfort the lonely and isolated, encourage the uncertain and imperfect, and bring forth miracles possible only with God."
