Jesus Christ, Second Coming
1Corinthians 15:23
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Book of Mormon
Alma 24:7-18
10 And I also thank my God, yea, my great God, that he hath granted unto us that we might repent of these things, and also that he hath forgiven us of those our many sins and murders which we have committed, and taken away the guilt from our hearts, through the merits of his Son.

"Come into the Fold of God"
Elder Randy D. Funk
Of the Seventy
Alma's baptismal covenant invitation to those gathered at the Waters of Mormon begins with this phrase: "Now, as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God."
A fold, or sheepfold, is a large enclosure, often constructed with stone walls, where the sheep are protected at night. It has only one opening. At the end of the day, the shepherd calls the sheep. They know his voice, and through the gate they enter the safety of the fold.

Prayer before James leaves at 5:30 for Globe. I paid both credit cards this morning, grateful that I had the means to do so. Also listened to Camille Fronk Olson on "Come Follow Me" with Hank and John.

I have decided to make an enchilada casserole for the missionaries tomorrow night. I went to town to get the things I would need at Walmart. I took an umbrella in with me because it looked like rain. There were a few drops but nothing else.

On the way home I listened to "Before the Fortress Falls." When I got home I made myself a cheese crisp and a caesar salad.

James got home from Globe and wants to walk and read.
Kacey texted and wants me to put Tanner's name on our temple prayer roll, which I did. I blogged and walked until it was time for our RS presidency meeting at the church at 5:30. We met in the RS room and we were the only ones in the building. It was Tamara, Kerri, Maxine, and I. We worked on making new ministering assignments which included the new sisters in our ward. Kerri recorded the changes we made on her computer but instead of putting them in proposed changes she put them in new assignments. We are supposed to get the bishop's approval before we make the assignments. We laughed about it. We laugh alot, which is refreshing.

Maxine told me that Wendy DeWitt had three handouts and I could ask her to send them to me via email. I intend to do just that. Why didn't Collin tell James about these? When James asked him for information about the fair Collin just said his favorite thing was Judy Hunter's habernero peach jam. Also, Pierce handed out flash drives with lots of preparedness information on them.

Kerri had to leave for another meeting at 7. After she left Tamara and Maxine and I stay and visited for awhile. I got home a little before 8.

In Awe of Christ and His Gospel"
Elder Ulisses Soares
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
My brothers and sisters, when we truly are in awe of Jesus Christ and His gospel, we are happier, we have more enthusiasm for God's work, and we recognize the Lord's hand in all things. Additionally, our study of God's words is more meaningful; our prayers, more intentional; our worship, more reverent; our service in God's kingdom, more diligent. All these actions contribute to the Holy Spirit's influence being more frequent in our lives. Thus, our testimony of the Savior and His gospel will be strengthened, we will keep Christ alive in us, and we will live our lives "rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, . . . abounding therein with thanksgiving." When we live in this way, we become more spiritually resilient and protected against falling into the trap of spiritual apathy.
I woke up in the middle of the night freezing and had to get up and turn the fan off. What?? That never happens!

James and I had scriptures and prayers together this morning. I indexes and I frost two cherry chip cakes, one for Pam Wood and one for Sue Hubble. James and I delivered them along with gifts and cards.

After making the cake deliveries we drove into town. We were both hungry and James said he didn't enjoy his lunch yesterday and would like to go to LaCasita, which we did. It was packed and we had to stand in the middle of the entry and wait to be seated. Standing next to us were Ashley Umphress, her husband Aaron and two of their kids, Gracie and Cooper. I told Gracie congratulations for her homerun in softball which I had seen on Facebook. I talked to Aaron about his mom attending Relief Society. I asked Ashley when Chelsea was coming home and she said she was coming home today but her flight got cancelled. I asked Cooper how old he was going to be on his birthday. He's going to be seven. I told him my birthday was the same day as his. I really like the Umphress family. I found out that Gracie also plays volleyball and she participates in rodeos.

I had a green chili Navajo taco which was quite delicious. James had his favorite, a green chili burro.

After lunch I went to Walmart and James went to Home Depot. I picked up my folic acid at the prescription counter and then did a little shopping. I picked up some birthday cards, lotion and body wash to use as gifts, and some cash for Max, Lola, and Jared Ammon whose birthdays are coming up this next week. I also got James some pomegranate juice.

On the way home James and I listened to "Yorkshire Carol." When we got home we rested for awhile and then James went to get his trailer at Owen Taylor's. When he gets back he loads the Cat on the trailer and takes it to the Thompson's. I stay home to walk and blog.

Stacy called me. Paul has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. He is in a lot of pain and his doctor is going to refer him to a rheumatologist. We talk for awhile. She says she has been sick and may have Covid and was concerned because she gave me a hug yesterday. Oh well, if I get it, I get it. Also Stacy said she and Joshua are making macarons today at Joshua's request.

I started a new book today called "Before the Fortress Falls" which is set in 1683 in Vienna, Austria. Vienna is at war with the Turks. I'm not sure if I'm going to like it. If there is too much fighting I probably won't finish it.

James got a text from Pam thanking us for the cake and the gifts.

"Conversion Is Our Goal"
Mark L. Pace
Sunday School General President
Consider this profound statement from the introduction to Come, Follow Me:
"The aim of all gospel learning and teaching is to deepen our conversion to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. ...
"... The kind of gospel learning that strengthens our faith and leads to the miracle of conversion doesn't happen all at once. It extends beyond a classroom into our hearts and homes. It requires consistent, daily efforts to understand and live the gospel. Gospel learning that leads to true conversion requires the influence of the Holy Ghost."

Left for Globe and the valley with James around 5:30 this morning. Gas is still $4.99 in Show Low. It's the same in Globe. In the valley it's $5.59.

We listened to Greg Madsen on CWIC talk to a group of people in Provo about Critical Social Justice and what some professors in college, even BYU are teaching that goes against what we believe. It was enlightening but I'm not sure what I can do about any of this. James says he is going to talk to Addy and Max about it or write them a letter. I think that's great.

When we got to Globe it was before 8 a.m. Ace Hardware, where James needed to get something, was not open. I dropped James off at the Peeler's and was on my way, driving the rest of the way to my infusion on my own.

I arrived at AARA 45 minutes early. I thought I would get my chest xray but when I told the girl at the desk she said there was no order for a chest xray for me. Okay, that's fine with me, I didn't necessarily want to get one anyway. I sit down and start filling our paperwork when I am called back for my infusion. That want to start me early. Yiipee!

I went in to see Dr. Kumar with my infusion still in. She ask me some questions and poked around a little and that was it. No mention of a chest xray.

I went back into the infusion room and finished up before leaving and heading for Stacy's. She has a father's day gift for James and my mother's day gift too. She got James a container of pinions, dark chocolate covered almonds, and some candied pecans. She gave me one of her purses. I chose the Winnie-the-Pooh one.

It also had a shoulder strap. Can you find Pooh and Piglet?

I didn't stay long at Stacy's but Joshua answered the door and I got to give him a hug. The only dog who barked at me was Sophie. Vader and Shipley were happy to see me.

I got an email from Paula Johnson today. There is an investment company who wants to buy part of the old "Ranch" and put in an RV park. This old "Ranch" is just down the road from us and would cause lots of traffic on 3261. James and I discussed it over lunch at Chalo's where I had a green chili chimi and James had two tacos. James did not like his tacos, my chimi was "ok." Chalo's is in Globe and my friend Jackie Hall told me years ago that's where she and Elliot always eat when they are going through Globe.

On the way home we listened to Steve Young's book, "The Law of Love." I love this book and feel like Steve gives some really good advice on how to show greater love in our lives.

We hit a huge rainstorm near Forestdale. It was raining so hard and James was having a hard time keeping the car on the road. If I would have been driving I probably would have stopped.

We stopped in Show Low and filled up with gas. Who knows when the prices will go up again. When we got home I rested and James did some indexing. He went to "Come Follow Me" at Pierce's this evening. I was too tired to go. James said they got started late because there was a discussion about the proposed RV park. Here were a couple of comments: Chuck - "I'm putting my house up for sale and moving." Pierce - "Let's buy the property." James laughed at Pierce and told him we didn't have the money to do that. I love that Pierce wants to buy the property. I think that's his answer to most problems.

I made plaques for Sue and Pam this evening of Luke 1:37.
With God nothing shall be impossible.

James wanted to get some more steps and I needed them to so we walked while listening to "Yorkshire Carol."
