Covenants and ordinances point us to and help us always remember our connection with the Lord Jesus Christ as we progress along the covenant path.

We invited the Giles's to watch conference with us. Pam seemed excited to come yesterday but this morning she said she woke up with a migraine, so she cancelled. Because of this, James and I watched conference alone. We both took notes. For our snack we had dark chocolate almonds. They were quite delicious!

Sunday Morning Session

My lunch
Coconut shrimp and salad

I got a text from Evan today wondering when and if we had the condo this year. I told him we did have it and the week we have it is May 29th - June 4th. He asked if he, Rowan, Joshua and Max could come and I said, of course. He thanked me and that was it.

James fixed veggies and noodles for dinner.

I read an article from the Liahona by Ulisses Soares called "Always Remember Him."
"The more we remember the Lord, the more power we will have to stay on the path, doing what He expects from us."
Doing is an essential part of remembering

General Conference
Saturday Morning Session

After the morning session of conference Tamara, Wendy DeWitt, Donna Beckham, and I all went to visit Kerri to wish her a Happy Birthday. She is 62 today. Tamara and I work with Kerri in the RS Presidency. Maxine, the secretary, went out with Kerri last night for her birthday. Maxine and Gary, Kerri and Catherine all love to go to Charlie Clark's for steak. Wendy and Donna are Kerri's ministering sisters. Wendy brought homemade bread, Tamara brought well-done chocolate chip cookies, and I brought her the journal I bought for her. It was a good visit. Kerri doesn't show emotion but I'm pretty sure we made her happy.

For lunch James and I finished the chili that Brian made. We got several meals out of this one pot of chili. Thanks Brian.

Saturday Afternoon Session

Today was a busy but wonderful day. After the afternoon session of conference, at 4 p.m. James and I attended Anne Johnson's baptism.
Anne was baptized by our ward mission leader, Greg Anderson. Bishop Hunsaker conducted, his wife Alicia was the chorister and Pierce Goodman played the piano. The opening song was "Come Follow Me" and the opening prayer was given by Kim Anderson who is a ward missionary and the wife of Greg Anderson.

One of our missionaries, Elder Goodwin gave the talk on baptism. He shared Mosiah 18:8-10 and said that as we bear one another's burdens and mourn with those that mourn, not only are we taking upon us the name of Christ but we are taking upon us the character of Christ.

After Anne's baptism, Jimmy Applegate gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is our Comforter, He witnesses of the Father and the Son, He reveals and teaches the truth of all things, He guides us in our decisions and protects us from physical and spiritual danger. We can receive gifts of the Spirit for our benefit and for the benefit of those we love and serve. The Holy Ghost can fill us with "hope and perfect love" and teach us the peaceable things of the kingdom. Through His power we are sanctified as we repent, receive baptism, confirmation, and remain true to our covenants. He is the Spirit of Promise. He can teach us all things.

Tamara Applegate welcomed Anne into Relief Society and Bishop Hunsaker welcomed her into the ward.

In closing we sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and Barbara Bartels gave the closing prayer.

Anne will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost next week in sacrament meeting.

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Saturday Evening Women's Session

James went on a hike while I was watching the women's session. He said he found an elk bed where three bull elk had bedded down. I didn't know they slept together like that. James said, only certain times of the year.

I watched the new Hallmark movie, "Only One Kiss."
James and I walked and listened to "The Valet's Secret."

I listened to "Teaching with Power" today and was amused by some of Brother Wilcox's artwork.

Kim and Brian left this morning and Kim did not finish her puzzle. As she took it a part she put each section in a small baggie. She had put too much work into it to do anything else.

We hated to see them go because we enjoyed their visit so much.

After Kim and Brian left we got ready and went to town to do our weekly errands. We listened to "The Valet's Secret" there and back. Our first stop was at the bank we I got some cash so James could pay for the glass panel he bought for my doll cabinet. If he pays cash it is $20, if he uses a card it's $25.

We stopped at Taco Bell for lunch and I had my usual two tacos. James had a chicken quesadilla and a taco. James dropped me off at Walmart while he went in to Lakeside to pick up the glass panel. He also got gas for the car and washed it.

He was back at Walmart in time to help me check out. On the way home we stopped at Goodwill and dropped off a couple of boxes of books. James decided he needed to get some horse feed so we stopped at Tractor Supply.

It is a gorgeous day with the high around 65 and no wind. After putting the groceries away I took a short nap. James went for a hike and was gone for a couple of hours. I clean the wood floor, walk, and blog while he is gone. I began a book called "The Girl at the Gate."

We won't be having our Easter potluck this year as Trina and Darrel's family are going camping with Trina's parents and brothers.

James had some bad news today. He had planned on pouring the floor for Mr. Rademeyer's airplane hangar on Monday. He got a call from Rock Solid, the concrete company today. They said they could not get him any concrete on Monday because they have no cement. No one else does either. This is such a letdown not only for us because we would have received a check for $2,500, but for Mr. Rademeyer too.
