General Conference
Saturday Morning Session

After the morning session of conference Tamara, Wendy DeWitt, Donna Beckham, and I all went to visit Kerri to wish her a Happy Birthday. She is 62 today. Tamara and I work with Kerri in the RS Presidency. Maxine, the secretary, went out with Kerri last night for her birthday. Maxine and Gary, Kerri and Catherine all love to go to Charlie Clark's for steak. Wendy and Donna are Kerri's ministering sisters. Wendy brought homemade bread, Tamara brought well-done chocolate chip cookies, and I brought her the journal I bought for her. It was a good visit. Kerri doesn't show emotion but I'm pretty sure we made her happy.

For lunch James and I finished the chili that Brian made. We got several meals out of this one pot of chili. Thanks Brian.

Saturday Afternoon Session

Today was a busy but wonderful day. After the afternoon session of conference, at 4 p.m. James and I attended Anne Johnson's baptism.
Anne was baptized by our ward mission leader, Greg Anderson. Bishop Hunsaker conducted, his wife Alicia was the chorister and Pierce Goodman played the piano. The opening song was "Come Follow Me" and the opening prayer was given by Kim Anderson who is a ward missionary and the wife of Greg Anderson.

One of our missionaries, Elder Goodwin gave the talk on baptism. He shared Mosiah 18:8-10 and said that as we bear one another's burdens and mourn with those that mourn, not only are we taking upon us the name of Christ but we are taking upon us the character of Christ.

After Anne's baptism, Jimmy Applegate gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is our Comforter, He witnesses of the Father and the Son, He reveals and teaches the truth of all things, He guides us in our decisions and protects us from physical and spiritual danger. We can receive gifts of the Spirit for our benefit and for the benefit of those we love and serve. The Holy Ghost can fill us with "hope and perfect love" and teach us the peaceable things of the kingdom. Through His power we are sanctified as we repent, receive baptism, confirmation, and remain true to our covenants. He is the Spirit of Promise. He can teach us all things.

Tamara Applegate welcomed Anne into Relief Society and Bishop Hunsaker welcomed her into the ward.

In closing we sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and Barbara Bartels gave the closing prayer.

Anne will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost next week in sacrament meeting.

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Saturday Evening Women's Session

James went on a hike while I was watching the women's session. He said he found an elk bed where three bull elk had bedded down. I didn't know they slept together like that. James said, only certain times of the year.

I watched the new Hallmark movie, "Only One Kiss."
James and I walked and listened to "The Valet's Secret."
