"One Percent Better"
Elder Michael A. Dunn
Of the Seventy
Elder Neal A. Maxwell taught, "Each assertion of a righteous desire, each act of service, and each act of worship, however small and incremental, adds to our spiritual momentum."
Truly, it is by small, simple, and, yes, even just 1 percent things that great things can be brought to pass. Ultimate victory is 100 percent certain, "after all we can do," through the might, merits, and mercy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

"Facing Our Spiritual Hurricanes By Believing In Christ"
Elder Sean Douglas
Of the Seventy
In the first place, God desires that we believe in Him. We face our spiritual hurricanes best by believing in Christ and keeping His commandments. Our belief and obedience link us to power beyond our own to overcome "whatever is happening - or not happening - in our lives." Yes, God "doth immediately bless us" for believing and obeying. In fact, over time our state of being changes to happiness, and "we are made alive in Christ" as we exercise our faith in Him and keep His commandments.

There was a beautiful sunrise this morning. Both James and I took pictures around 6 a.m.

We played Five Crowns with Max this morning. He won and I got second, beating James by two points. I wanted to share a scripture with Max but I just didn't feel comfortable doing it. I have some unfinished business to attend to.

As I was working on my blog I listened to Dave and Emily on "Don't Miss This." The lesson this week is about the plagues and the Passover.

It was after 2 this afternoon when Max left for home. Here are some pictures I took.

We had family prayer with Max before he left
and told him to please let us know when
he gets home.

It was overcast today and Sheri texted me and said it was raining in the valley. This afternoon I took a nap, did the dishes, and had just finished cleaning the floors when Kim and Brian arrived at 4 p.m.
James left for town. He is going to look at a house in Lakeside. It's a house that he is bidding some work on. He also went to the post office. I had asked him to pick up some KFC while he was in town. When he returned home he had the cake tools I had ordered from CakebyCourtney, but no chicken. He said he forgot. I was a little hurt. It seems like he forgets the things that I ask him to do. He offered to go back into town but of course I said no.

James got back from town in time to go to "Come Follow Me" at Pierce's. They discussed this week's lesson and the Hipps's came. They are building a house near Peeler's, Barbara, and Pierce. I stayed home with Kim and Brian. Kim started to do her puzzle. It's the 1500 piece puzzle I gave her last summer. Here is what it looks like:

Mandala art. I love it!

Brian showed me how to use Dish on Demand and I was able to watch last week's "When Calls the Heart." When I was finished I watched this week's episode. Thanks Brian!

Kim, Brian and I got into a discussion about meditation.  They both meditate and Kim said there are two methods, the first one you empty everything from your thoughts and then you focus on the impressions that you get. Kim and Brian don't like living in the valley. Kim likes cold weather and so does Brian. They have been talking about moving for years. One day when Brian was meditating he asked: "What do you want me to do?" It was that day that he got called to be a counselor in the bishopric.
