"Behold! I Am a God of Miracles"
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
The Lord performs miracles to remind us of His power, His love for us, His reach from the heavens to our mortal experience, and His desire to teach of that which is of most worth. "He that hath faith in me to be healed," He said to the Saints in 1831, and the promise continues today, "and is not appointed unto death, shall be healed." There are laws decreed in the heavens, and we are always subject to them.

Restoration Proclamation
#2
Two hundred years ago, on a beautiful spring morning in 1820, young Joseph Smith, seeking to now which church to join, went into the woods to pray near his home in upstate New York, USA. He had questions regarding the salvation of his soul and trusted that God would direct him.

I am in a lot of pain when I first get up in the morning. The first thing I do is get something to eat and take my tramadol pills. Since yesterday and my fall, I've been taking aspirin too.

Sister Elmer is so understanding and has never asked me to get a substitute. I told her I really wanted to be there tomorrow but I did not think I was going to be able to make it. James will be coming so that made Brother Elmer happy.

I got a call from Frances who works at the office where I get my infusions. She said they were going to have to cancel my appointment on Monday because they did not receive any Actemra. Wow! This has never happened before. We will see what happens.

James needed to run off a copy of his permits for the LaCroix job but he couldn't find them. I finally remembered and told him to go to the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen and click on them. Go to history. He found it and was able to make copies. He was so happy and said I saved him hours of time. Glad I could help.

James is racking up the doctor's appointments for his treatments. My goodness, so much to do.

I read from "God Will Prevail" and I am loving it so much!  I also listened to Emily on Inklings for this week's discussion. The message was about Light. I also listened to "Teaching with Power" while working on my blog.

It rained again today and there was lots of thunder. I finished another season of "The Great British Baking Show".

My friends the Halcomb's, Catherine and Kerri came by for a visit this afternoon. They brought me a birthday card and a bouquet of flowers.

So beautiful!
You can't really see them in this photo but there are marbles or as
Catherine called them, "jewels" in the bottom of the vase. Catherine said that's because I am her jewel.  She is such a sweetie!

James made and brought me dinner this evening, chili, cornbread and a shrimp or two from his plate. We also finished off the last of the Texas sheetcake. It's something that both of us like.

We listened to several chapters of "Cecelia's Celebration." James went to bed around 9 because he is getting up early in the morning to go to the temple. I'm still in a lot of pain and will be staying home.

Today is Charlie's actual 3rd birthday. It looks like she celebrated with her family at home.

Some of the birthday cards I received this year.

We should never assert that a faithful Latter-day Saint cannot belong to a particular party or vote for a particular candidate. We teach correct principles and leave our members to choose how to prioritize and apply those principles on the issues presented from time to time. We also insist, and we ask our local leaders to insist, that political choices and affiliations not be the subject of teachings or advocacy in any of our Church meetings.

Restoration Proclamation
#1
We solemnly proclaim that God loves His children in every nation of the world. God the Father has given us the divine birth, the incomparable life, and the infinite atoning sacrifice of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. By the power of the Father, Jesus rose again and gained the victory over death. He is our Savior, our Exemplar, and our Redeemer.

I slept on the recliner last night. I had some early morning cereal and two aspirins and two tramadol. When James came in we had scriptures and prayer together. I signed up at the beginning of the month to feed the missionaries today. I spoke to them and they are expecting a meal. One of the missionaries, Elder Cluff, is not feeling well so we are going to deliver the meal to them this afternoon after 5.

I made a list and James did my errands today. Not only did he buy groceries but he went to the post office to mail a thank you to Dawn and Lois, a gold #3 balloon to Charlie, a box of Built bars to Ben, and to return a teapot to Amazon. Bless his heart!

I got a call from my friend Karen S. today. She sent me a card earlier. We had a nice visit. She told me about Lance's experience with prostate cancer and his treatment. She is still doing treatments for her cancer also and doesn't get out too much of anywhere else.

We had lots of thunder, lightning and rain today. I love these kinds of days. While James was gone the Dish tech, Justin, came. He put in a new satellite dish for us and now all of the channels work fine. Thank you Justin.

I talked to one of the sisters that I minister to, Tanna today. She is still waiting for someone to bless her baby so I told James to get things moving. I also spoke to my good friend Ginger. She contacted me and said she "wanted to talk" but I was sick. Now I think she is getting close to being ready to talk. She came to church for awhile but something is bothering her and she has not been for months. She is one of the sweetest sisters I have ever met, and so kind!

I spent the afternoon in the kitchen cooking. First I made a pot of Wendy's chili and turned it down to simmer. I also made cornbread, green beans with bacon, and a Texas sheetcake. James boxed it all up and delivered it while I sat down to rest. I watched "The Great British Baking Show" on Netflix. James and I listened to "Celebration for Cecelia."

After James cleaned the kitchen we watched the latest episode of "Aurora Teagarden."

I read chapter 5 of "God Will Prevail", The Covenant. The chapters in this book are so good and I am learning so much about The Abrahamic Covenant.

Elder Michael John U. Teh
Of the Seventy
An increasing understanding that the Atonement of Jesus Christ applies to us personally and individually will help us know Him. Oftentimes it is easier for us to think and speak of Christ's Atonement in general terms than to recognize its personal significance in our lives. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is infinite and eternal and all-encompassing in its breadth and depth but wholly personal and individual in its effects. Because of His atoning sacrifice, the Savior has power to cleanse, heal, and strengthen us one by one.

"Christ Is Risen; Faith In Him Will Move Mountains"
President Russell M. Nelson
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Study. Become an engaged learner. Immerse yourself in the scriptures to understand better Christ's mission and ministry. Know the Doctrine of Christ so that you understand its power for your life. Internalize the truth that the Atonement of Jesus Christ applies to you. He took upon Himself your misery, your mistakes, your weakness, and your sins. He paid the compensatory price and provided the power for you to move every mountain you will ever face. You obtain that power with your faith, trust, and willingness to follow Him.

Faith
Great buildings were never constructed on uncertain foundations. Great causes were never brought to success by vacillating leaders. Faith has always been, and always must be, at the root of any meaningful practice and endeavor.

One of the first things I did this morning was go outside to take pictures of sunflowers. I was not watching where I was going and fell through the rotten place in the decking. I should say I fell half way through as I did not land on the ground. As I was lying there I was debating whether to call James who was in the dining room, or get up myself. I decided it would be less embarrassing if I got up myself, which I managed to do. My right side where my ribs are, felt like someone had shot me. I had a knot on my left knee and later realized I had three large bruises on my right leg. Good News, I can walk!

I went in to tell James and he reminded me of how he broke ribs when Luna bucked him off last November and how long it has taken for him to finally get over most of the pain.

August has been an interesting month. First Covid and now this. It really was the best of times and the worst of times. The best of times, my birthday and having Jared, Kacey, and Charlie come to visit so James could ordain Jared a High Priest and we could celebrate Charlie's 3rd birthday. Also, Darrel and Trina allowed their kids to get a pet, Tater Tot, all because of Ruby's power point presentation.

I can barely move. I move from the recliner in my room to the recliner in the family room. My left leg is stiff and sore and boy those ribs make it where I can barely move.

The tech from Dish came while I was lying on the recliner in the bedroom. Thank goodness James was home to let her in, etc. She was here just a few minutes. She got the satellite working, or so we thought, but said if we had more problems to just call again.

I read several chapters from "God Will Prevail." James and I listened to a chapter from our book. Now I'm watching "The Great British Baking Show." James is so happy to have gotten his permits for the LaCroix job.

Hallmark channel 187 HD is not working. I already paid $95 so I want this channel to work because it is one that I watch often. I called Dish and they are sending another tech out tomorrow.

Sheri offered to come and take care of me. She is so sweet! Stacy, Paul, and Joshua were going to come up this weekend but I think they decided not to come.

I really want to work at the temple on Saturday. I think I will be able to but James says, no way. I need to call my co-ordinator, Sister Elmer.

Notes from MindBody Toolkit chapter 4. "Use Your Words."

Your words are the beliefs you hold most strongly. The voice that has the greatest impact on your cells is your own.
AFFIRMATION: "I speak possibility and life responds accordingly."

Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the Restoration, was chastened. After Joseph lost the 116 pages of the Book of Mormon manuscript, the Lord both corrected and showed love by saying: "You should not have feared man more than God. . . . You should have been faithful. . . . Behold, thou art Joseph, and thou wast chosen. . . . Remember, God is merciful; therefore, repent" (D&C 3:7-10).

"They Cannot Prevail; We cannot Fall"
Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong
Of the Seventy
Some of us may think, "The gospel is good, so we need to put it in our lives, maybe once a week." Just going to church once a week is not enough to build upon the rock. Our entire lives should be filled with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is not part of our life, but our life is actually part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Think about it. Is that not true? Our mortal life is only part of the whole plan of salvation and exaltation.

Optimism
My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we "accentuate the positive." I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort.

I got up at 5:30 this morning. I left my portable Mifi (Wifi) at Sheri's so I had to go into the dining room to work on my blog. James fixed me oatmeal for breakfast. We had scriptures and prayers together and then I sat down on the recliner for a few minutes to rest. I watched The Great British Baking Show.

James went out to work on the Cat, trying to dig the mud out of the trenches he dug. He actually wound up sliding into the fence. It is still too muddy. He was quite frustrated.

I indexed for over an hour and did two blog posts.
Kacey said Charlie slept in this morning. Last night when they got home, around 10 p.m. she wanted to play with all of her toys, which she did.

James talked to his friend Sal J. today. He has had Covid. He said he lost over 40 lbs. Wow! Wouldn't that be nice.

Sal is trying to push the Chacon job through and James is excited about getting the permits for LaCroix.

I am so overwhelmed and excited about the sunflowers that I walked around outside taking pictures of them today. Our yard and field is filled with them.

We have completely lost our satellite signal. I texted Vickie first but she said they no longer have any equipment so I would need to call Dish, which I did. I had to pay $95 up front for a technician to come out. One is coming tomorrow.

James and I took a drive to Dollar General to get me some milk for my cereal. James also got himself a bag of Dove chocolates and me a bag of chocolate covered raisins which we didn't need but enjoyed.

We stopped at the post office and picked up the mail. My Mifi was in the mail. Thank you Sheri!

For dinner James had fish and cabbage. I had a Kodiak protein cake.

I listened to "Don't Miss This" and last week's "Inklings" where we discussed Elder Wakolo's talk, "God Loves His Chilren" and Jeremiah 29-31.

I also had so much fun playing with my sealing wax today, practicing.

When I send birthday cards I want to seal
the envelopes with one of these seals.
I have a couple of other designs too but these are my favorite.

I read chapter three from The MindBody Toolkit. The title is: Focus on What You Want. "Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them." AFFIRMATION: "I am powerful and create whatever I truly desire.

I also read a chapter from "God Will Prevail about Hesed, or Covenant Love. Awesome!

Gratitude

Last night we said goodbye to Charlie and her mom and dad. Today we went home to Vernon. We stopped by Chandler Eyecare to get James's glasses that Sheri fixed. She gave me mine in my new frames on Friday when we got there.

The desert is so lush and green and there are little yellow flowers scattered throughout. It was a pretty normal trip with a stop at the gas station in Payson. We went on to Show Low and stopped at Arby's for lunch. James's choice, not mine. James got his favorite sandwich, a turkey Reuben. I got a cheddar beef, the first one I've ever had. It was okay with a little Arby's sauce. We got home a little after noon.
After unloading and putting away James took a nap. He gets tired after driving home from the valley.

I sat down to relax and watch some TV. The satellite is off. I try to restore. It did not record one of the shows I left to record, Aurora Teagarden. I watched the new Hallmark movie starring Jen Lilley and Ryan Pavey, "A Little Daytime Drama." I love both of them but I thought this movie was extra boring. I also watched this week's episode of "Chesapeake Shores."

I tried calling Apple to make sure they had my correct address for sending my bill for my new phone. I had to speak to five people to finally get the answer I was looking for. Why does everything have to be so complicated?  Afterwards it was time to take a shower so I could relax and feel refreshed.

James and I have separate dinners. He makes himself some tilapia and I have macaroni and cheese. I did some indexing and then I was going to work on my blog but I decided I needed a 30 minute nap before I started. I laid down on the recliner in the family room and slept longer that 30 minutes. James was at the dining room table doing indexing. I actually woke up and decided it was time for me to go to bed. No blogging today.

Sheri did two things for me today. I forgot my Mifi and she sent it to me. She also took my old phone into the Apple Store because that was suggested to me by one of the agents I spoke to today. Thank you Sheri for being the kind of person who gets things done and helps other people!
