'Sustainable Societies'
Elder D. Todd Christofferson
What are the fundamentals that sustain a flourishing society, one that promotes happiness, progress, peace, and well-being among its members? We have scriptural record of at least two such thriving societies. What can we learn from them?

Restoration Proclamation
P4 S4
Others came as well, including Elijah, who restored the authority to join families together forever in eternal relationships that transcend death.

Terry, Dave, and James got up at daylight to go scouting for elk. They were back within a couple of hours, just before it started to rain. Dave and Terry left before James and I got a chance to say goodbye or to take a picture on the front porch. I guess they were anxious to get home.

It was rainy, windy, and cold all day long which set the mood for the media's announcement that Biden and Harris won the election. They got over 270 electoral votes but there is concern over voter fraud. We will have to wait and see what happens.

The way I see it, this is not good news!

More qualified for the job:

Wouldn't it be great if President Nelson could
be the president of the United States!

These two would be wonderful as the President
and First Lady

James went to town this afternoon to get horse feed He made a stop at Walmart and got me a mini-cheesecake. He said he didn't want any but of course he couldn't resist.

I watched Hope at Christmas, and Write Before Christmas both from last year while blogging and walking. James and I watched one of this year's movies, "Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater." It was raining so hard on our metal roof at times we had a hard time hearing the movie.

Evan and his chocolate cake. He

'Love Your Enemies'
President Dallin H. Oaks
As followers of Christ we must forgo the anger and hatred with which political choices are debated or denounced in many settings.
'But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you" (Matthew 5:43-44)

Restoration Proclamation
P4 S3
Three of the original twelve Apostles - Peter, James, and John - restored the apostleship and keys of priesthood authority.

Studied "Come Follow Me." Read scriptures and prayed with James and then read to him from "Blackberry Crumble." When I was finished studying I walked and then went into the kitchen to start the stew and the rolls I am fixing for dinner. I also fixed a key lime pie and put it in the refrigerator.

Dave and Terry arrived around 11:30. James took them out on the Razr scouting for elk after lunch and going to the post office. I guess they saw lots of big elk up by Greens Peak.

Today is Evan's 14th birthday so I texted him happy birthday even though I already sent him a card and gift. He said his gift looked pretty awesome.

The four of us, James, Dave, Terry, and I had dinner together. After dinner the guys sat down to watch "Genesis" the movie about the creation of the earth. I went in to the bedroom to work on my blog and to watch Christmas movies. Here are the movies I watched today:
"Christmas List" starring Alicia Witt and Gabriel Hogan
"Christmas Cookies: starring Jill Wagner, Wes Brown
"Christmas on My Mind" Andrew Walker, Ashley Greene
These were all last years movies

Happy Birthday Evan!

Jesus Christ, Messiah
2 Nephi 25:18
Wherefore, he shall bring forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them at the last day, for they shall be given them for the purpose of convincing them of the true Messiah, who was rejected by them; and unto the convincing of them that they need not look forward any more for a Messiah to come, for there should not any come, save it should be a false Messiah which should deceive the people; for there is save one Messiah spoken of by the prophets, and that Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews.

'Recommended to the Lord'
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
Temples, no matter where they are, rise above the ways of the world. Every Latter-day Saint temples in the world - all 168 of them - stand as testaments to our faith in eternal life and the joy of spending it with our families and our Heavenly Father. Attending the temple increases our understanding of the Godhead and the everlasting gospel, our commitment to live and teach truth, and our willingness to follow the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Restoration Proclamation
P4 S2
The resurrected John the Baptist restored the authority to baptize by immersion for the remission of sins.

James was up by 4 and left before 5 this morning for the valley. He took his truck. I left at 6:45 in my car. James wanted to get there early and get some work done before he went over to see his mom.

We met at his mom's in Tempe around 10:30 and had a nice visit with her and Dawn. Today is a record breaking 98 degrees here in the Valley of the Sun. No results from the election yet. They are still counting ballots in certain states, Arizona being one of them.

Dawn sold us each a bottle of magnesium. She says it has helped get rid of her muscle cramps. Lois is so alert and talkative but is not getting around very well. She has to use a walker. Dawn asked me if I was going to be here tomorrow and I told her I was going back this afternoon. She said they were having a card making day tomorrow. Carmen was going to be online and Laura, Cathi, and Rebecca were coming over. It sounds like fun and maybe I would have come if I would have known sooner.

As we said our goodbyes I asked James if he wanted to join me for lunch at Jersey Mike's. He said he needed to get back to the job so I went by myself. To his credit Jersey Mike's was in the opposite direction of his job so I wasn't too upset. I got my sandwich, ate it in the car and then headed for Scottsdale to see Stacy.

Stacy and I arrived at the same time, about 15 minutes early. We had to wait for Nikki to finish her client before we could start. She and Stacy use the same room. I was determined I was going to lie still the entire 2 1/2 hours. I actually fell asleep. Stacy said I was snoring and stopped breathing. She said she thought  I needed a cpap machine. No way.

Stacy finished a little early and needed a break so we walked over to Boston Market to get a drink. She asked me if I would pick up Joshua from school and although I was not planning on going to Chandler, I said I would.

When I got to Chandler I stopped at Sheri's and dropped off Evan's birthday present with Ben. I waited for Joshua at the Circle K on Gilbert and Queen Creek and after waiting for awhile and not seeing Joshua, I texted him. Afterwards he came right over to my car. Before taking him home I took him to Culver's for a burger, fries, and a drink. I also got myself some sweet potato fries. He seemed very appreciative. We had a nice visit.

After dropping Joshua off at home I went to the Ross out near their home. I did my Christmas shopping and filled up the entire back of my car. James called and said he was on his way home. I told him I was headed for the Fry's on Gilbert and Ocotillo to get some tea and ingredients for tomorrow's stew that he asked me to make for Terry and Dave. They are coming up to help scout for elk.

I left Fry's at 5:45, 11 hours after leaving Vernon this morning. It was after 9 when I got home. James had already fed the horse and was waiting for me. I unloaded the car and went to bed because I was tired. Not many steps today, but I'm so glad to be home safely.
