Saguaro Lake

Dave, James, and Terry took the day off and hooked up Dave's boat and went fishing at Saguaro Lake.  No one caught anything but they had a good time.

I had a dentist appointment to get xrays and have my teeth cleaned.  On one of the xrays there is a dark spot under an old crown which indicates decay, which means the crown will have to be replaced.  Jackie said I could schedule it the next time I have my cleaning, which is in June.

I drove Cathi's car to my appointment because Lexy is at Erik's having some work done.  We had to have a new battery which was covered under the warranty.  Erik installed the motor mounts and since we were low on antifreeze he put some in.  The bad news is that the antifreeze kept bubbling which indicates there is a leak somewhere.  We either have a cracked head which will cost around $1,100 or, if we need a new engine it will be $10,000.  Erik thinks we should trade Lexy in but I say no.  He says it is safe to drive but we just need to keep checking the antifreeze levels.

This afternoon we took Max and Evan on a date to the mall.  We went to Auntie Anne's to get pretzels and See's Candy.  We tried to get magic cards at Barnes & Noble for Ben but they didn't have the right ones.
Two fun boys!
After our date with Evan and Max we went to see Darrel & Trina.  It is rare that we catch both of them home at the same time.  Trina invited us to eat with them.  At first we said no, but she insisted.  They are both doing the autoimmune diet and Trina had made a most delicious stew for dinner.  Instead of potatoes she used sweet potatoes.
Trex Valentine delivered balloons and candy to the kids.
 Ruby opens the door.
The kids checking out their loot.
Lola wanted nothing to do with the dinosaur.  She loved her balloon.  She also loved grandpa rubbing her feet.
After dinner and the visit from the dinosaur Addy and Trina got ready to go to New Beginnings.  I can't believe Addy will be going in to Young Women's this year! (I am kicking myself for not taking a picture.)
Addy was supposed to dance at the MCC basketball game tonight but she hurt her toe last night in tumbling.  Friday night she dances at the Sun's game.

We went to bed a little earlier than usual tonight and so did Cathi and Terry.  Tomorrow they will be at the ROC all day serving their mission.
Cathi introduced me to Noosa salted caramel yogurt.  It is my newest flavor addiction!
This is like a dessert and I love it!

Fountain Hills

James went out to Fountain Hills this morning to prepare for the job he is doing there.  He was back before 10.  He had a dentist appointment at Dr. Douglas's to get x-ray's and to get his teeth cleaned.  My appointment is tomorrow.

I dropped James off at the dentist and then went to In'n'Out Burger to get something to eat.  After eating, I went to Hobby Lobby to get some ideas on what to give the grandkids for Valentines Day.  Instead of finding something for the grandkids, I bought myself some markers and two new coloring books.  I told James I bought my own Valentine's gift.
These make me smile.
I picked James up from the dentist and took him home.  Terry and Dave were waiting for him to go to their mom's to work.  They are remodeling her bathroom.  It is our Christmas present to her.

Colin wanted to go home to see his dad so Cathi took him.  When they got there he wanted her to stay and play for awhile, so she did.  She  is so good with him!

I came home and took a nap and did a little shopping at Target.

Holly loves to get in the car and go to pick up Joshua after school.

This evening Kim, Brian, Sheri, Ian, Alex, Ben, Michael, Joe, and Chelsea went to see Guster in concert.
Guster concert at the Marque theater.

Sheri asked if we would check in on Max and Evan, which James did.  I stayed at home and watched Hallmark movies and colored while Cathi made earrings.  It was fun and relaxing.

Happy Birthday Stacy!
Has it really been 44 years?
I finally made the decision to go with James to the valley today instead of waiting until Wednesday.
We left Vernon around 10 but had to wait almost an hour at the carwash.  It was almost 11:30 when we left Show Low.

We went the Globe way.  We met Jared and his friend Kelli in front of Cathi and Terry's.  We gave him James's snowboard and Emmy's blanket.  Kelli seems nice but not nearly as friendly and outgoing as Cami.  She has three children and her six year old had juvenile diabetes.  We visited a few minutes before Jared had to leave for home.  He texted me later and said he had spent some time with Cami on this trip.  I am glad and hope they continue to be friends.
Also, before Jared left he told us that Alex bore his testimony in church yesterday which made us both happy.

James went with Dave and Terry to work on his mother's bathroom remodel for a couple of hours.  I went to Walgreen's to get a card and some candy for Stacy.

This evening we took Paul, Stacy, Michael, Dallin and Joshua to dinner at Cheesecake Factory for Stacy's birthday.  Joshua made sure that the waitresses sang to her.

This isn't a tiny house, it's a castle.
I like castles too.
I missed sacrament meeting and Primary sharing time and only came to teach my class today.  The lesson was about Nephi building a ship so I brought my big Noah's ark as a visual aid.
Zemira and Curtis were the only ones in class and they loved my ship!
After lunch and a nap I worked on my Primary lesson for next week and my handouts.  I am doing handouts for the inactive children too.

James and I made chicken tacos together for dinner and then watched a movie called, "Dad's Home", about a single dad who loses his job.  Everyone else in the world was watching the Super Bowl.  The Broncos beat the Panther's 24-10.

Sheri and Ian had a Superbowl party at their house.  Jared and Kelly came and so did Darrel and Trina, and Brian and Kim.  Brian went outside and wouldn't watch the TV. He has made a commitment not to watch anymore sports on Sunday.  That is a pretty amazing promise for Brian who loves sports.  We are very proud of him!

I like the porch on this Tiny House.

James fixed me one of my favorite breakfasts this morning, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and bacon.  It was delicious.

I guess we are celebrating because he is all caught up on his income taxes, including 2015!  Luckily we don't have to pay anything for 2015 because we had a sizable payment for 2014.

I took a nice nap after my breakfast and then worked on my Primary lessons most of the afternoon.

Jared is meeting Kelly, the girl from Reno that he went to see, in the valley today.  Her mom lives in Chandler.  I wish we were going to be there to meet her.

James made a beautiful salad for dinner in an effort to clean out some of the veggies in the frig.  After dinner we watched an Aurora Teagarden mystery starring Candace Cameron Bure.

This is a picture of our friend Carol Ray Decker and her five boys.  Carol is a friend of ours from Chandler.  She lost her husband Mario back in 1990 and has since remarried.  Our kids grew up with her kids.  Her son Peter is now Sheri and Trina's dentist and was Jared's best friend growing up.

Snow, Shiprock, New Mexico.
Friday, and I am still miserable.  I did manage to make a couple of blog posts.  James was going to fix me an omelet for breakfast but he got up late and I had already eaten.  I said he could fix me bacon, eggs and hashbrowns for lunch if he wanted. When lunch time came around we decided to go into town and get chinese food and look for Pero  We miss our nightly Pero drink  We checked Walmart and the Safeway in Show Low and Pinetop.  Still no luck.

I got orange chicken and angus beef at Panda.  The angus beef was James's suggestion and it was yummy!

Although it's been sunny since it snowed on Monday, the temperatures have been in the 20's and 30's so it's taking awhile for the snow to melt.  We do have mud though.

Before we turned into Vernon we saw three large herds of elk in the fields just outside of town  When it's cold and snowy in the high country, they come down looking for feed.  Quite a few people were stopped taking pictures.  We didn't get any pictures but I stole this picture of some whitetail deer off Facebook.
A nice family portrait.

This is Elder Tyler Hunsaker who left for his mission to West Virginia from our ward in January.
Elder Hunsaker with his mission president and his wife.

I made banana nut muffins for dinner and James and I watched, "The Wishing Will", a Hallmark movie of course.

Happy Birthday Harold!
This is my brother Harold. He is a year and a half younger than I am and turned 66 today.  Harold is a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He is always there if you need him.
I love you Harold!  He also makes some awesome wood furniture!

James has had several job prospects come up in the last couple of days for work.  One is a building for Brian Lemmerman and another is a building for Marvel Masonry  He went from having no work to several good prospects and we are very grateful.

In honor of Harold's birthday James and I had chocolate cake for dinner.  I messaged Harold on Facebook and wished him a Happy Birthday and told him we would go to lunch as soon as I got over my cough and cold.

James went coyote hunting.  He has some new "toys" he wants to try out.  He bought them at Bass Pro Shop. Our friend, Ed Miller, says he can get anywhere from $40 to $70 for coyote hides.  Also James has declared war against the coyotes since he found a dead deer carcass and two baby elk carcasses. He had no luck tonight. Those coyotes are pretty smart.

I vegged out on the couch most of the day.  I had a Mystery Book Woman marathon.  I watched "Redemption", "At First Sight", "Wild West Mystery", and "In the Shadows."

I was supposed to have an appointment at the Arizona Arithritis and Rheumatology Center in Mesa on Monday morning for an infusion.  They don't want you to come in if you are sick, so I called and got an appointment set up for next Friday at 1:45.
