There is so much snow outside I was wondering if I could get out to go to the store. I made it with no problem. Really, snow is not the problem usually, it is the mud after the snow melts. I had to go into town to get the stuff to make sugar cookies for tomorrow nights Young Women's activity. The ride in to town was beautiful. The trees were all frosted with snow.
I made my trip into Walmart with no problems. I came home and mixed up the sugar cookie dough and put it in the frig to chill. While the dough was chilling I worked on my Valentine treat bags for the young women. I also ran off New Beginnings invitations and got addresses to give to Shelly so she could get the invitations out this week.
James got home around five. Tomorrow is his dad's services in Ramah so that's why he came home. Of course he brought me a green chili burro from Burger House. He really does know the way to my heart.
After baking the cookies and making frosting I went down to the church and left everything in the kitchen with Natalie who was there for the Relief Society activity. There was the box of invitations for Shelly, cookies, frosting, decorations and bags to put the cookies in, and my valentines for the girls, Natalie, and Kaeli. The girls are suppose to deliver valentines and cookies to the inactive girls.
I went home and got ready for company. James was a big help. He set up air mattresses downstairs, moved a bed into my office for Aunt Flora, and helped me put clean sheets on all the beds. Brent, Rebecca, Jason, Mari , Ethan, Christina, Scott, and Aunt Flora didn't arrive until after midnight. James waited up for them and even had a fire going in the fireplace. I was exhausted and already in bed.

James said it snowed on him all the way to Sunflower this morning as he traveled to the valley. It started up here early afternoon and we got about eight inches. I love watching it snow!
The Heyman's returned to their mission in Argentina. They have been in Chandler since November because of Dianne's health but were able to return. I have seen pictures of Dianne on their blog and she looks great.
Dallin had a school choir concert this evening. Since I wasn't able to be there it was nice that both Paul and Michael posted videos on Facebook. He had some solos and also sang I. A quartet. He is very talented!
Something happened in the catholic church that hasn't happened in 600 years. Pope Benedict resigned for health reasons. Interesting.

Did my early morning study and then found some New Beginning ideas for Shelly Apple gate who is doing New Beginnings for a value project.
Pam Wood and Jim Diewald were the speakers in sacrament meeting today. They spoke on the plan of salvation. In Sunday School we learned about how to receive personal revelation. Kaeli Nicoll taught the lesson in Young Women's. The title of the lesson was Why should I treat my body as a temple?
After my nap I began preparing for our dinner guests. I put the chicken in to marinate. I put a tablecloth on the table and set it with my china. I made brownies, rice, corn, and a salad.
Dinner was suppose to be at five but no one arrived until after five thirty. Dennis and Denise got here first and then Harold and Vickie. Harold had fifteen jobs to do today. He installs satellites for Dishnetwork.
James grilled the chicken and everyone thought it was delicious. We also had rice pilaf, corn, salad and rolls. For dessert we had brownies and ice cream with hot fudge sauce. It was fun to visit with my brothers and their wives. Denise and I did the dishes while everyone else discussed a couple of pieces of property of dad's that we still have and what we should do with it. The consensus was to sell it.
After everyone had gone home I typed James's talk and watched Downtown Abbey.

We woke up this morning to a snow storm which was quire a surprise. It didn't stop the youth from going to the temple. I parked my car at the church and rode with Natalie Soderquist. LeeAnn and Mary rode in the backseat. There was no snow in Snowflake but it was very cold. We had six girls: LeeAnn and Kilee Hunsaker, Jordyn and Shelly Applegate, Trenda Wilhelm, and Mary Swift who all did baptisms and confirmations. There were also six boys: Jace Applegate, Talon Wilhelm, Kendall and Westin Hall, Tyler Hunsaker, and Cy Westbrook. Bishop Hall baptized the girls and Sean Hunsaker the boys. We had plenty of adult leaders with us: Bishop Hall, Brother Applegate, Brother Smith, Brothers Hunsaker, Diewald, Curtis, and Lauritzen and Sister Applegate along with Natalie Soderquist and myself.
As we were leaving the temple I saw Rita and Bill Solomon going in. They are temple workers.
After the temple we all went to El Cupidos for lunch. Their burros are delicious. I had the Big Jake.

I came home to find James working on the talk he is giving in church next week. I put boxes away downstairs, made two recipes of hot fudge sauce, made chicken quesadillas for dinner, listened to my scriptures and some music on my phone and went to bed. James was still working on his talk when I went to bed.

Happy 41st Birthday Stacy! I still remember the day you were born and how happy I was to finally be a mother. When we brought you home from the hospital Willis Rd. was a bumpy dirt road. I have never seen Dad drive so slow. It was a memorable moment.
Stacy got the royal treatment today. Michael brought her breakfast in bed. Paul made her a cake and then fixed steak, crab legs, and cornish game hens for dinner.
James and I actually got to have scriptures and prayers together this morning. Usually we listen to our scriptures on our phones, but we each read the same chapters so we are together.
I began packing things from the china cabinet today. I filled up ten boxes. It didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would. Max and Evan had an early release day and so Sheri brought them over around noon. They had already had lunch. James was home early from work. While he took a shower I went to El Sol to pick up some lunch for us. I got him a carne asada burro and me a bean and cheese with a side of guacamole. I also got a green chili burro for us to share. I had forgotten how delicious their food is. I will definitely go back!
At 2:30 I picked up Alex from Chandler Eyecare and took him home, then I began packing my car for home. Adrienne Ellsworth came by to bring Stacy a treat for her birthday and I visited with her for at least 30 minutes. After my car was loaded I met James at Darrel & Trina's to take her birthday present. James picked her up a plant at Safeway. James left before I did and he went the Globe way. I went through Payson and stopped at the Safeway in Show Low for groceries and gas.
When I got home I unloaded everything while James put away the groceries. We watched "Person of Interest." I am afraid I fell asleep. We came home today because I am scheduled to go to the youth to the Snowflake temple in the morning.

James's Dad passed away this morning. He had been in the hospital for a few days but everyone thought he was doing well. James spoke to his Uncle Delbert who said: "Don't come because you think your Dad isn't going to be around. He will be here at least another year." I guess everything happens for a reason and I think George was ready to go. He had health problems that were plaguing him and he was tired of dealing with them. Now he is at peace.
I picked up Kalynn and Kheli at the Hunsaker's and we headed for the valley. We stopped in Globe at Taco Bell for lunch. I took Kalynn to her home. She lives off Chandler Heights and Ellsworth so we turned at the Florence Junction turnoff. We went past Johnson Ranch where we had two houses before arriving at our destination. Kheli slept most of the way but was excited to get out of the car at her home. She is a cutie.
This is a picture of Kalynn and her siblings when she went through the temple to be sealed to her husband and Kheli.
I made it to Chandler in time to go to the meeting at Dave & Laura's about George's arrangements. Others attending: Dawn, Rebecca, Cathi and Terry. Laura had taken Lois to the doctor and they waited in the living room together. Here are some of the things decided: Terrazas Mortuary in Demming will freeze the body and store it until next week. A friend, Eli Nicoll, will transport the body to Ramah for burial. Lee Lambson in Ramah will arrange for the grave to be dug. The burial will be next Wednesday in Ramah at 1pm. James will dedicate the grave. After the burial we will go to the church for a memorial service which Dave will conduct. Afterwards there will be a meal prepared by the Relief Society. George did not want anything but a graveside service but I am sure that where he is now his perspective has changed. Gail will be coming from Oregon to go to the service. Cathi gave Carmen an airline voucher and she is flying out from Pennsylvania. Connie will be coming from Texas. It will be nice to see everyone but wish it were under more favorable circumstances. Does someone have to die for this family to get together?
Sheri gave James a gift card to Red Lobster for his birthday. That's where we went for dinner.
James spent several hours typing an invoice to Troy Andersen and then sending it to him via email so he can get paid tomorrow.

What do you do with a leftover spinach and arugula salad? Make an omelet.
Very tasty.
More salad for lunch.
I had a productive day. This morning I fixed my vacuum. I am pretty handy with a screwdriver. While I was working I listened to my Christina Perri station on iHeart radio. I heard four of my favorites: "A Thousand Years", "Bluebird", "Distance," and my all time favorite "Arms."
Natalie Soderquist came over for a presidency meeting this afternoon and brought the ingredients for the food we are making tonight as part of our young women's service project but she left early because her daughter Adalyn has a concussion. I was on my own tonight with the girls as Kaeli Nicoll is out of town helping her husband with work.
I prepared some snacks for the girls to eat while we were fixing food for someone else. They are always hungry. There is a girl on pom and cheer who is going to be responsible for taking care of her 9 year old brother while her mother is working out of town for a few months. That is who we are making the meals for. We made mini-meatloafs which the girls sampled and said were very good, and sloppy joes. It was a fun evening but we missed MaKenzi, Jordyn, and Natalie and Kaeli. I was so busy working I didn't have a chance to take any pictures.
