I fixed James a nice breakfast before he left for Chandler, bacon, eggs, and biscuits. We read our scriptures and said our prayers and then said our goodbyes. I actually saw clouds when I went outside and this made me excited. Haven't seen any in awhile.
Yesterday in the mail I got a holiday specials magazine from Deseret Book and one from The Book Barn. The Book Barn is the LDS bookstore in Show Low. I poured over them and wrote down things that I wanted to get on my Christmas wish list.
I came home and watched some Christmas movies while paying bills and working on my budget. I watched "A Nanny for Christmas", "The Road to Christmas", and "Battle of the Bulbs." It's a little lonely here by myself and the TV keeps me company. I also texted Jared about what his plans were as far as going to Phoenix. He is leaving on Wednesday. The memorial service for Aaron Esch is Friday at 2pm.

Today is Jared & Tricia's 13th anniversary, and they don't even get to spend it together. Jared is in El Paso, and Tricia is in Phoenix helping to plan her brother's memorial service.. I guess they will have to celebrate at a later date.
James and I read from 3 Nephi and from our book The Time Keeper this morning. Afterwards James went out to do some work on his tractor. While he was working one of the tires came off. The lug nuts were gone. This means a trip into town to the tire shop. While we are there we might as well go to lunch, pick up some prescriptions and do a little shopping. LaCasita is closed on Monday's so we drove all the way to Pinetop to go to El Rancho. I had the beef stuffed sopapilla. It was good.
This evening we watched a Christmas movie, "A Christmas Wish", The Mentalist, and Person of Interest.

Molly knocked on my door this morning around 7 o'clock to show me where Buddy the elf was hiding. I had originally planned to leave after going to sacrament meeting and Sunday School, which would mean I would leave around 12 or 1. I was worried about this because of my tendency to fall asleep when I am driving in the afternoon. I decided to say a prayer. After saying my prayer I felt like I should leave this morning, so I packed everything up and said my goodbyes. When I said goodbye to James Hayden he helped me by carrying my suitcases to the car and loading them in. Such a gentleman. Tricia's flight home is scheduled for this evening. I left around 8 am. Today is fast Sunday so I didn't have anything to eat but I did take sugar free cough drops and diet Pepsi. I am sorry that I will miss taking the sacrament and hearing Jared give his Sunday School lesson.
El Paso's radio station 99.9 plays Christmas music just like 99.9 in Phoenix, so that's what I listened to until I got to Silver City. I love the 75 mph speed limit on the Texas part of interstate 10.
I never stopped once and was home before 1:30. James was so happy to see me and I was happy to see him.
We had some sad news this afternoon. Aaron, Tricia's brother took a turn for the worse. He developed a blood clot that went to his brain and caused his death. This all happened just before Tricia left for the airport, so she stayed with the family. They are all devastated especially after thinking yesterday he was going to get better.
James and I watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional this evening featuring President's Monson, Eyring and Uchtdorf. We considered this our FHE.

Jared left for work around 9 this morning and he gets off at 2. My assignment is to take James to get his football pictures taken with his team, and to take Molly to her dance class. We left around 9:15.
Football and dance.
I had no problem finding Franklin High School where James's pictures were to be taken. Molly and I dropped him off then I took Molly to have breakfast and play at McDonald's. When it was time to take Molly to her dance class I had no problem finding the house. I just typed the address into MapQuest and bingo, I am there. I love MapQuest on my phone! Well Molly refused to stay and I didn't want to force her so after about 15 minutes of trying to bribe her we left to go pick up James. Oh did I mention that Heather, the dance teacher is from Mesa, Arizona. Wow, it's a small world.
The Championship team, The Tribe. James is #33.
Can you find him?
Going back to the football field from the dance teacher's house presented a problem. I got lost and ended up on the freeway going east. It was awhile before I found my way back. I Map Quested Franklin High and found my way back to James. He was the last one to leave but he said it was okay because he got to play around. Wow! It's a wonder that Jared trusts me with his kids.
When I got back home I found that Molly had spilled her cereal all over the floor and bench and it was pretty hard and crusted on. I spent some time cleaning up that mess. I also swept and mopped the floor and did the dishes.
When Jared got home he began getting the Christmas decorations out of the attic. Emmy was excited to go up in the attic and do some exploring.
I should be helping instead of taking a picture.
After attempting to put up the outside lights with not much success, Jared left to go get Rudy's for dinner. He is very kind to do this since that was my one request while I was here. He got 3lbs. of moist brisket, potato salad, beans, and Little Miss Sunbeam bread. I haven't seen Little Miss Sunbeam in years! It was a delicious dinner.
Molly loves the potato salad.
After dinner and baths there was a Christmas story and then we watched the movie, "The Perfect Game."
Tricia Skyped and said that Aaron had surgery and was doing better. The doctor was hopeful that he would learn to walk and talk again. The family is very hopeful.
Back at home in Arizona today is our day to start the holiday season by going to Serrano's for dinner and then going to look at temple lights. We were sorry to miss this fun night. James is back home in Vernon.
Family dinner at Serranos.

I was up at 6:30 for scriptures with Jared and his kids. They have them at 6:30 because James leaves for school shortly after. Emmy wanted to borrow a scarf from Anna but Anna said no so I went to Walgreen's and got Emmy a purple scarf before she went to school. I had to go get some mascara anyway. When Emmy saw it she said: "It's hairy."
After the kids left for school and Jared left for work Molly and I spent the day together. She found a Capri Sun so I put them up out of her reach along with the chips and other snacks. Later we were playing hide and go seek and she found some Koolaid Jammers in the living room bar cabinet. Anna put those in the freezer. After watching a couple of episodes of Dora, Molly wanted to go outside and play. We went out in the front and she rode in her Barbie jeep and then we went out in back and she jumped on the trampoline. When it was lunch time Molly said she didn't want anything. Maybe that's because she had snacked on a granola bar, chips, a cookie and a Capri Sun before I hid them. After my lunch, a nuked hotdog, we laid down for a nap. Molly had a birthday party for a little boy named Isaac at 2. When Jared came home for lunch he brought Molly a present to take to the party. There was a bounce house at the party so Molly had no problem saying goodbye and jumping right in. The Mom at the party informed me that she was from Arizona. So far I have met two people here and they both have been from Arizona.
When James got home from school today he spent alot of time on his ipod looking up jokes. He shared some of them with me. Anna had a party this evening. She looked so cute.

Anna looking all grown up.
Ready to party.
While Anna was gone to her party Jared made us grilled burgers for dinner. He used mesquite charcoal and they were delicious. Afterwards we watched "Mirror, Mirror" and Jared read the Elf on the Shelf book and everyone said hello to Buddy the elf. Buddy will be hiding somewhere each day watching the kids to report to Santa if they are good for Christmas. Here was Buddy's first hiding spot.
Can you see Buddy. He is very high for such
a little guy.
A closer look.

I left for El Paso this morning at 6:50. I arrived, after 3 stops, at 1:30. I stopped at Allison Schobe's to pick up Molly. Allison is from Arizona. She lived in Holbrook and was born in Snowflake. Molly was asleep but was excited to see me when we woke her up. We went home and had hot dogs for lunch then we watched Toy Story 2. Molly proceeds to climb on top of me and says: "Let's snuggle." Love this girl!
Later she decides she wants to read one of her favorite books, Pie for Piglets. While she is turning the pages she accidentally rips one of the pages and says: "It's ok it's just a library book."
Later after the kids get home from school Molly is doing a cheer for me and Emmy is singing the 50 states song. It's confusing and Molly ends her cheer with "Utah Washing Away." (Utah, Washington, Wyoming from the states song.)
James loves to play the piano. While he plays "Carol of the Bells" Molly and I dance. We are the dancing Christmas fairies. Molly runs her fingers through my hair, pats it and says: "Your hair's pretty Grandma, but you're not." Ouch! We also watched Brave, and part of Kung Fu Panda 2.
Now Emmy is singing the president's song. She had a list of the presidents and we discovered that Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and the 24th president. Emmy says: "I'm going to tell my teacher that there are only 43 presidents instead of 44."
Later, after dinner which was brought by a member of their ward, we had an ice cream party. Anna wasn't with us because she went to volleyball tryouts. Here are some pictures.

I love the look on Molly's face.
James loves going shirtless at home.

James left this morning for the valley. He is doing a job for Susan Jacobson.
I made a trip to town this morning. I hate big logging trucks that drive too fast, and stir up the dust and crowd you off the road here in our little town of Vernon. I also hate prescribed burns.
This evening the Young Women had a cooking contest at our house. Each class, the Beehives, Mia Maids, and Laurels were given chicken, green beans, and potatoes. The Beehives made chicken pot pie, the Mia Maids made chicken and cream cheese with croissants, scalloped potatoes, and parmesean green beans. The Laurels fried their chicken, roasted their potatoes, and green beans. Everything was delicious and we had a great time. It was also MaKenzi Hunsaker's 18th birthday so we celebrated by singing to her and having cake and ice cream.
