Quote:
"Our observance or nonobservance of the Sabbath is an unerring measure of our attitude toward the Lord personally and toward his suffering in Gethsemane, his death on the cross, and his resurrection from the dead. It is a sign of whether our conversion is so shallow that commemoration of his atoning sacrifice means little or nothing to us." -Mark E. Petersen (former Apostle)
It is critical that we teach our children in truth and righteousness, setting a proper example for them.
Republican Primary in Arizona and Michigan. Romney won in both states. Stacy acts like she likes Rick Santorum better but when it came right down to it, she voted for Romney.
For dinner we went back to Golden Corral because of the grilled tilapia. Mine wasn't as good this time. We decided we can't come again for awhile because James says he always overeats.
We went home and watched Castle before going to bed.

Walk to Walmart.
For his birthday Adam asked for a bookshelf. I gave him one that I had downstairs filled with old photo albums and journals. I spent some time this morning going through some of those photo albums. It's fun to take a stroll down memory lane once in awhile. I saw pictures of Darrel and Jared as they were preparing for their missions. There were pictures of Adam, Jared Ammon, Dallin, Michael, Joe, and Alex when they were little. Some old albums of Sheri's with some pretty wild looking hairdos. I forgot how crazy the 80's were. It was a fun way to spend the morning.
Michael had his last baseball game as part of the Hamilton Prep team today. Stacy went and said it was cold and windy. Speaking of cold, Show Low had no school today because of snow. Anyway, back to Michael's game. It was one of the only games they actually won. I think Michael is glad the season is over and he's moving on to track.
James sold the last two of our lots in the Third Estate last week. One is going to Wes Lueck, a friend from our ward, and the other to Nathan Lambson, Terry's son. We are getting $11,000 as a down payment on Nathan's lot and then he will pay us $500 a month until it is paid for. When James get's Wes's lot cleaned up we will get $57,000. We feel like Heavenly Father is really watching over us.

Happy 22nd Birthday to Adam and 15th to Joe!
I got up early and finished preparing my talk. I also put chicken enchiladas in the crockpot for lunch. At 9 am I went with Sheri and Christy Wanlass to return the van's they rented for Ragnar. The place was on 22nd and Washington so it took about an hour for me to follow them over there and come back.
The Gonzales family did not attend our ward today. They are going to Justin Johnson's and Ian Hatch's farewells in Galveston 2nd ward.
Sheri and her boys were all there, including Max. Our talks went quite well. I spoke on the Family Proclamation and James spoke on strengthening families. Afterwards Paula Casto gave me a big hug which made me feel great.
Jeff Chubbs taught the teacher development class today. The lesson was on using different teaching methods. It was great. Cathi, Morgan Skeen, Julie Johansen and I attended.
Morgan taught Relief Society today and did an awesome job with Elder Scott's conference address on the power of scriptures. She had an awesome handout and it was one of the best RS lessons I have been to.
James kept busy most of the afternoon. He had Young Men's Presidency meeting and then he went home teaching. I caught up on some of my Sunday journal writing.
We got out of bed to sing Happy Birthday to Adam.
Oh by the way, our chicken enchiladas were delicious! Adam loved them too.

Study for my talk, walk to Walmart, and then yardwork. I am so tired and hurting.
Stacy and Paul went to the temple today with Paul's family. Paul's nephew, Justin Johnson, (Devin and Kim's son) is leaving on his mission for Argentina in a few days.
Darrel came over this afternoon with his kids. He left around 5 to go pick up Trina at the end of the Ragnar Race at Tempe Town Lake. Everybody is calling Trina the MVP because she ran for Hillary Whalen when Hillary got hurt. Trina and Sheri both had a great time! Sheri ran for Christy Wanlass and had to run up a huge hill in Fountain Hills. I am proud of both of them!
A friend from the ward, Katy Glemser, talked about how good Jersey Mike's Subs are so we went there for dinner. Katy recommended Jersey Shore's Favorite with provolone, ham and cappacualo. I dont' know what that last ingredient is, but the sub was delicious! James got a hot pastrami and loved it! We are definitely coming back to this place.
I spent most of the evening typing James's talk for him. He narrowed it down from 27 pages to 7 pages. Mine is about the same length. I went to bed before nine, which is my goal.

Happy Birthday Karen Schneider. Have a great time in Hawaii!
Sheri left for her Ragnar Race this morning. She's been training for it for months. She was heart broken when she thought she might not be able to go because of Max. Thank goodness he's "out of the woods" and she felt comfortable going. There are twelve girls on the team, "Sole Sisters":
Sheri, Trina, Christy Wanlass, Hillary Whalen, Hillary Jiminez, Karin Gonda, Adrienne Ellsworth, Kate Gunther, Beth Bluth, Shaylyn Nansel, Sara Hansen and Chelsea Wolfley. The race is 200 miles long. It starts in Wickenburg today and ends at Tempe Town Lake tomorrow evening. Each girl will run either 16 or 22 miles. They rented two large vans and won't be spending the night in a hotel so I hope they are able to get some rest. It sounds crazy to me but I do hope they have fun.
Max spent most of the morning at home playing video games. I checked on him about every 30 minutes. After I picked up Evan and Joshua from preschool I went to Target and got Max a pizza and then to Burger King to get the other boys burgers. (Joshua calls his a crabby patty.)
I was able to take a short nap this afternoon which was good because James and I went to the 5:00 session at the temple. It was such a small session it went fairly quickly. I really enjoyed it. Afterwards he wanted to go to our ward activity at the visitor's center but I was too tired and hungry. We stopped at the drive thru Subway in Chandler on the way home.

Since I was up past midnight last night there was no getting up at 4am and then walking to Walmart at 6:30. It was almost 7 when I got up.
I watched Evan this morning and he and Joshua wanted Grandpa to get the light sabre out of the tree, so Grandpa climbed the tree and got the light sabre down. I got a picture which I will post later. He really is a dare devil in spite of all of his injuries.
Ian went to the hospital to learn how to change the dressing on Max's head because Sheri didn't think she could handle it. The did a proceedure this morning and everything went well. They were home around noon just as Evan was asking for his hamburger, ketchup only.
James and I took Joe and Adam out to eat for their birthday this evening. We can't afford Red Lobster right now. We went to Golden Corral and had a great time. I had some freshly cooked grilled tilapia and it was delicious. I am craving some right now! I am proud of Joe. He abstained from the sugary desserts, something he has done since before Christmas. He is a great example!

James and I attended the Mitt Romney rally here in Chandler at the Tri-City Christian Academy with my friend Jacque Hatch. Laura was kind enough to save us a place in the bleachers because I don't think I could have stood after standing in line for an hour. Afterwards James, Dallin, and I all got to shake hands with Mitt. It was worth the wait!
It was a funfilled day for Dallin. His favorite band "Fun" did a live performance at Zia Records here in Chandler. All you had to do to get in was buy their newest CD. Did I say Dallin's favorite band? Joe, Alex, Ben, and Michael are also big fans and they were there too, along with Kim. (Thank goodness for Kim!). Michael came from his baseball game and "changed clothes" in the back seat of the PT Cruiser. I guess you could say they all had a great time. Grandpa went to Mutual by himself this evening.
I got home from my RS presidency meeting after 9pm only to find out that Sheri was at Banner Desert Hospital with Max. Max and Michael had a collision on the trampoline on Monday. Michael's tooth hit Max in the forehead opening up a big gash. Ian doctored it and sealed it up and it seemed like everything was okay until this afternoon when the swelling began. James had told Sheri she needed to take him in because swelling around the brain area can be serious. The doctor had him go to the hospital where they put him on an IV. James and I met Darrel at the hospital and James and Darrel gave Max a blessing. I had to sit in the waiting room because they only allow two visitors at a time. I went back to see Max and the first thing I saw were his feet, and boy were they dirty! They were wheeling him into another room. We went with them to his new room and then James and I left. Sheri will be spending the night. They will be doing a proceedure on him in the morning to relieve the swelling and allow the wound to drain. James said that in the blessing he blessed him that everything would be fine. Thank goodness! Now I can sleep tonite.
