Our plan was to come home from Church yesterday break our fast, take a short nap and leave for the cabin. Two out of three isn't bad. We did break our fast and we did take naps. Well James insisted that we needed to leave by 5 am this morning. I was up at my regular time, 4 am, but instead of gospel study and then a walk to Walmart, I packed and we left for the cabin shortly after 5 am. Since there is road construction the Payson way we headed towards Globe. Bummer that we couldn't stop at Burger House in Miami for a green chili burro. We did stop in Show Low, three times. First at Circle K so I could get a drink. James saw Dr.Clifford Goodman. His family has a place in Linden. Next we stopped at Arby's because James was hungry. I got a sausage biscuit. He got a ham croissant but they forgot the egg so we had to stop at Burger King for a ham croissant with egg and cheese.
It was 20 degrees when we got to Show Low but I think it warmed up to 30 during the day in Vernon. Oh, I forgot to mention we saw a coyote, deer, elk, and an antelope. James loves this place!
He worked on a bid most of the day. I did a little floor waxing, but mostly I watched "Little House". This evening we caught two episodes of "Rizzoli and Isles."
This afternoon we went in to Walmart to pick up a few items. I ended up spending $70 and then we stopped at KFC because James was hungry for chicken!
A relaxing day for me.

From my Patriarchal Blessing:
"I bless you that you will have material blessings, that you will never want for the necessities of life, that the way will be opened before you and your companion that you will be able to rear your family to honorable maturity and be able to help many others who are not so fortunate as yourself."
I was up early and put a roast and all the fixings in my cast iron pot. I turned on the oven to 250 degrees and put the pot in the oven. Dinner will be ready when we get home from Church a little after 2pm.
Sheri, Alex, and Ben all bore the testimonies in Sacrament meeting today.
I had a family history meeting with Karen Schneider and Terry Lambson during Sunday School. We are discussing our upcoming approach to family history in the ward. Terry's main concern is getting some more consultants called since I will be gone at the end of March.
Drea Boles taught the lesson in Relief Society on the "Blessings of the Temple." It was great.
James and I came home, said a prayer to break our fast, and ate our dinner and then took a nap. We were going to go to the cabin this afternoon but decided to leave in the morning instead.
Today was the Super Bowl and Nana's (Ian's mom) birthday so there was a party at the Trezise's. The Patriot's are playing the Giant's in the Super Bowl. Alex is a big Patriot's fan but they lost 21 to 17.
Joshua told James and I this evening that Michael told him that he got bit by a giner and now he has gingerbitis. Where does he come up with these things?

I read this from my Patriarchal Blessing:
"If we pray always we will be shielded from temptations greater than we are able to withstand, thus the righteous desires of our hearts can be realized as we live under His divine influence."
I battled the bougenvia in the backyard today and I won, but not without battle scars.
James hurt himself today using the compacter down on Saki's lot. But he did some really good things today so I couldn't be too upset with him. He got up early and took Alex and Michael fishing at Discovery Park. He came home and fixed steak and gravy and I popped some frozen biscuits in the oven. MMMMM Delish!
I called and wished my brother Harold a Happy Birthday. He is 62 years old today.
I went to Ben's football game this afternoon. That boy can throw the ball and that boy can catch the ball....he has good hands. He made one diving catch right on the ground. Ian Wanlass is good on defense. They are the stars of the team as far as I'm concerned.
James and I began our fast this afternoon. We will fast until tomorrow after Church.
I took all the dolls out of my doll closet tonite and arranged them in the living room and invited Addy and Ruby over to go doll shopping. Addy picked out a "fancy lady doll" in a beautiful red dress by the name of Rosalind. Trina picked the doll I thought looked the most like Ruby for Ruby...it's a cute little girl doll with two ponytails and her name is "Sunshine and Lollipops." She reminds me of Ruby because of the ponytails and the lollipop she's holding in her hand. Ruby always goes for the candy jar when she comes to our house.
Trina lost Ruby the other day when she told her to go get in the car with the other kids. Instead of getting in the car Ruby jumped on her bike and rode two blocks down the street before Trina caught her.
Darrel and Rowan didn't come this evening because they were out on the desert somewhere roasting marshmallows. Rowan wanted to go camping.
After the girls left our house they were going to Cold Stone Creamery.

I actually got to see Max as Thomas Jefferson today. He was awesome! I didn't get any pictures because the battery was dead on my camera. Sheri is suppose to email me some pictures but so far I haven't seen them.
I went shopping at Walmart two times today. Once on my morning walk and once later in the day to get a birthday gift for Tammy Wilson, our bishop's wife.
This evening our ward Relief Society and the Young Women and activity day girls did a service project at a place called "Feed My Starving Children." I didn't think I was going to be here so I didn't end up going. I stayed home and started packing my dolls. What am I going to do with 50 dolls? I guess I will probably sell most of them on Craig's List.
Michael got his ACT test results. He scored high in all areas but science was the best. He got 100%.
Joshua and Evan went to a birthday party for two of their friends at preschool, Arlo and Waylan. It was at Tiffany's house.

The Groundhog saw his shadow today so that means six more weeks of winter. Woohoo! It looks like rain outside right now. Oh, let me check my iphone and see what the forecast is.....grr no rain forecast just weather in the 60's and next week the mid 70's.
I decided on my walk to Walmart in the morning I am going to pick up trash. I take a grocery bag and make a deposit in the trash can before going in to do my shopping.
Max was Thomas Jefferson today in a class presentation and Sheri and I missed it because Sheri thought it was tomorrow. Thomas Jefferson is one of my favorite historical figures.
Mitt Romney won the Florida primary by a landslide. It seems the women in Florida don't like Newt Gingrich. I wonder why?
Stacy took me to see her dream house this afternoon. It's just down the road on Dobson past Germann. I fell in love with it too. Model homes are so nice and clean and new and beautiful!
My feet are really hurting tonight. I hope I can keep up my daily walks in the morning without paying dearly for it at night.

"Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God." Helaman 3:35. This is one of my favorite scriptures.
"To be pure in heart is to achieve that condition in which motives, desires, and attitudes are acceptable to God and consistent with the eternal progress that is the ultimate destiny of his children." Dallin H. Oaks
Sheri and I went to Kim Tolman's funeral today. Kim is Janny St. Onge's sister. Janny is my visiting teacher and Sheri is Janny's visiting teacher. Kim was 38 years old and in October she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. There are 8 girls in the Tolman family and it seemed as if Kim was the favorite sister of all. She was the oldest. I remember her coming to church for 2 or 3 years with Janny to help her when her children were small. Kim only recently got married, in November after being diagnosed with cancer. She never had children of her own but she loved her nieces and nephews. Attending this funeral reminded me how fragile life is and how important my family and friends are to me.
This afternoon I had my annual appointment with Dr. Walters. It cost me $287 for an office visit and to get my bloodwork done because Dr. Walters does not take insurance. Why do I go to him? I don't know for sure. He prescribes my thyroid and my hormone creams. I picked up my prescriptions on the way home and they cost me another $105. I am a high maintenance woman.
You'll have to ask James if I'm worth it.

Janny St. Onge is my visiting teacher. She is Sheri's age and I am always learning from her. She is married to a non-member and went through the temple for the first time two years ago. Since that time she has gone to the temple every single month. She says she schedules it in early in the month and makes it a priority. Because of her example I set a goal to go to the temple at least once a month. Today was my day for January. I missed the 10:30 session by about 5 minutes so I was a little late getting home. James watched Evan for me for about 20 minutes. Now my goal is to get the rest of my family members to make temple attendance a priority. Now matter what I did the rest of the day this was the most important thing I could have done.
