Jesus Christ, Creator
Isaiah 40:28
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Book of Mormon
Alma 28:9-29:7
*"I ought not to harrow up in my desires the firm decree of a just God, for I know that he granteth unto men according to their desire." What does this mean?
-Just like parents with their children, God sometimes allows us to pursue unjust desires, especially if there is a lesson to be learned. In any case He almost always does not interfere with our agency. The only exception is if we ask the Lord to help us resist bad choices, or some one else close to you is asking and fasting on your behalf. (Alma for Alma the younger).
Old Testament
2 Chronicles 3-4
3 Solomon begins to build the temple - He makes the veil and the pillars, and uses much gold and many precious stones.
4 Solomon makes a basin and places it on twelve oxen - The altar, basins, pots, and various items are made.

Meek and Lowly of Heart
Elder David A. Bednar
"Meekness is a defining attribute of the Redeemer and is distinguished by righteous responsiveness, willing submissiveness, and strong self-restraint."

James had an early meeting with Francisco this morning. He gave him a check for $4,500 for labor on the Phoenix Country Club job which lasted 2 1/2 days.

Darrel went to work this morning and Trina and Addy went to the gym. That left Rowan, Ruby, and Lola and I home together.

The kids watched Studio C while I worked on my blog.
At 10:00 I gave them all a hug and said goodbye and left for my infusion appointment.

My appointment was at 10:45 but they are running late and it's after 11 before I get called back. They are always late after a holiday in the middle of the week.

After my infusion I went across Baseline to Fry's to get some lunch and snacks to eat on the way home. I also got some gas and then headed for Payson.

James is ahead of me and so are Stacy, Paul, Joshua, and Rowan.

I zip right on through Payson. When I get almost to Show Low it starts raining really hard. Stacy said they came through the canyon and they got into a hard rain before getting into Show Low too.

When I get home I am crying. I finished listening to President Eyring's biography. His wife has alzheimer's and sometimes she doesn't remember who he is.

Paul and James help me unload the car. Once I get everything put away I sit down to relax. Joshua and Rowan are playing laser guns. Joshua is so excited to have someone to hang out with. He has really missed Evan since he has been gone to Europe.

Paul looks really good. He has lost 70 lbs. He says he has 30 more to go. So do I but I have not been doing very good the past few days.

Vader and Shipley are here too. They can't go outside unless they are on their leash. They like looking at the bunnies, especially Shipley, through the dining room window.

Paul fixes the boys burgers for dinner. After dinner the boys go into our room to watch "Private Eyes" and Stacy, Paul, and I watch "The Greatest Showman" in the family room. James keeps going back and forth but I know he favors "Private Eyes."

We went to bed around 11.

Jesus Christ Atonement through
Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Book of Mormon
Ether 9:23-35
Why must we first be humble before the Lord hears our cries?
Doctrine Covenants Favorite Scriptures
DC 29:1-2
1 Listen to the voice of Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, the Great I Am, whose arm of mercy hath atoned for your sins;
2 Who will gather his people even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, even as many as will hearken to my voice and humble themselves before me, and call upon me in mighty prayer.

"A man can live in the dark for a period, but there will come a time when he will long to come into the light."

This morning's sunrise

I had lunch with my friend Pam at the hospital today. She works at the hospital and today was the holiday feast. The food is free and everyone who works at the hospital can bring a guest. We were at the beginning of the line and I am glad we were. When we left it looked like all of Show Low was lined up for freed food.

There were three main dishes, stuffed chicken, prime rib, and butternut ravioli. I had the ravioli and Pam had the prime rib. The food was delicious and the company was great.

After lunch Pam walked out to the car with me and I gave her her Christmas gift. A pair of mittens with a quote from President Monson about being "His hands," and a blanket.

As I was thinking about some of my favorite things about Christmas here is what I came up with. My favorite song is "O Holy Night."  Favorite holiday movie, "Elf."  One of my favorite Christmas memories is having the Tinsel Tour at our house and James nailing up the last piece of crown molding just at our first guest arrived.

Another favorite memory is Darrel reading "The Little Fir Tree" at one of our adult parties and tears coming to his eyes. He really does have a tender heart.

Christmas movies for today: "Wrapped Up in Christmas," starring Kim Fields, and Tatiyana Ali.

Light the World:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
This is called the Golden Rule, and if everyone followed it, the world would be a better place.

Ways You Can Show Kindness toward Others

Have you seen someone get bullied on social media?

Reach out to the person today and send some positive vibes his or her direction.

What's something that could really brighten your day?

Do that for someone else.

Today is Carmen's birthday.
Someone made her this cake.
Happy Birthday Carmen.

While he was here James: changed the fluids in the Razr and got the tire fixed.  He finished fixing the toilet paper holder in the hall bathroom and did the touch-up painting.  He fixed the fender and undercarriage on my car.  Wherever he goes he makes things better.  I love him and this morning he had to leave.  His truck has a terrible knock and his brakes are going out.  We said a prayer before he left and started a new Sarah Eden book called "As You Are."  I love that he loves my books and Hallmark movies!  I made him some breakfast before he left:

The news for the day according to Facebook: Robin Williams committed suicide.  Very sad.  One of our young women, Hope Lootans says she's in a relationship.  Arizona, another of our young women whom we seldom see is practicing with her bow to go archery deer hunting.  Something else from Facebook:

I made a trip to town today.  I stopped at the Vernon post office and saw another of my young women, Maddie Carroll.  She was supposed to have started school today but I guess she didn't.  I am afraid she won't be able to get in because she was home schooled last year and probably did not graduate from the 8th grade.  She is such a sweet girl and it will be so sad if she doesn't go to school.

I went to Chase Bank and then Walmart.  Walmart wasn't busy and I would say Monday morning might be a good time to shop but not only was the store bare of customers it's shelves were bare too.  The produce was pathetic.

I spent a lazy day at home.  It's what I call a recovery day.  I was a little lonely so I watched quite a bit of TV.  I was also physically exhausted.  Here are some of the shows I watched: My new favorite, Sue Thomas F.B.Eye, The Next Foodnetwork Star finale.  The cowboy, Lenny McNabb was the big winner, Cedar Cove, and Master Chef where two people were sent home.  One of the contestants sent home was a gay woman named Victoria who has short hair and kind of dresses like a man.  The was Evan's remark: "Finally, the boy woman goes home."

There were clouds here today but no rain.  A big monsoon storm did hit the valley. Here's what's going on in Colorado:

I went to bed early, around 9pm.

The Groundhog saw his shadow today so that means six more weeks of winter. Woohoo! It looks like rain outside right now. Oh, let me check my iphone and see what the forecast is.....grr no rain forecast just weather in the 60's and next week the mid 70's.
I decided on my walk to Walmart in the morning I am going to pick up trash. I take a grocery bag and make a deposit in the trash can before going in to do my shopping.
Max was Thomas Jefferson today in a class presentation and Sheri and I missed it because Sheri thought it was tomorrow. Thomas Jefferson is one of my favorite historical figures.
Mitt Romney won the Florida primary by a landslide. It seems the women in Florida don't like Newt Gingrich. I wonder why?
Stacy took me to see her dream house this afternoon. It's just down the road on Dobson past Germann. I fell in love with it too. Model homes are so nice and clean and new and beautiful!
My feet are really hurting tonight. I hope I can keep up my daily walks in the morning without paying dearly for it at night.
