While Sheri was at work today I took Alex to the orthodontist for a routine checkup on his braces. On the way home he told me how much fun he had going to dinner at Red Lobster last night with Adam, Joe, Michael and Dallin and then afterwards coming to our house to play games. (I missed out on the fun because I was already in bed). Stacy had told me how loud they were in the basement and how she kept telling them to be quiet. One of the games they played was "Kitties in the Blender." How fun does that sound? Alex proceeded to tell me how to play but I'm afraid I just don't have the stomach for it.
In other news I made a trip to Scottsdale to deliver a check and packet of information to the attorney who is representing us in our lawsuit against Norquay Construction. I had intended on working in the yard this afternoon but since James was at his Aunt June's with Michael taking up her old kitchen floor I was elected to go to Scottsdale.
Spent the evening at Young Men and Young Women's watching Terry's power point presentation on Family History. He did an awesome job!

Dear Kim,
Maybe the reason so many of the lights for my tree don't work the next year is because they are so hard to get off the tree I have a tendency to pull too hard. Sorry. How many lights did you put on this tree?
The Sunday School course of study for 2012 is "The Book of Mormon." Hooray.
The Relief Society/Priesthood course of study is The Life and Ministry of George Albert Smith.
Today is my dear friend and sister-in-law Cathi's birthday. She is one of my heroes. She is fulltime caretaker for her invaide mother Evelyn. Her example of dedicated love and service is such an example to me. Happy Birthday Cathi, I love you!
Joshua went to the doctor today. He has an ear infection and bronchitis. After his visit he made the comment: "I'm all better now that I saw the doctor. I need to go to Cafee's (Cathi's) with grandma cuz it's her birthday."

Stacy vs. The Christmas Toys
Stacy is obsessed with keeping track of Josh's Christmas toys. Yesterday she got super glue on her teeth while gluing his Legos together. I think it was the way she opened the tube by putting it into her mouth and biting down on it. This from a girl trained in the art of having healthy dental hygeine. We've come to the conclusion that 5 year olds should not have Legos or toys with small pieces that are prone to fall apart. I am concerned the poor girl is wearing herself out trying to keep track of all of these tiny toys.
Trina and her family have had their two Christmas trees put away since the day after Christmas. We were over there for dinner last week and if I didn't know better I would think they didn't even celebrate Christmas. The house was devoid of any clutter, Christmas or otherwise. Today I took the decorations off our tree only to find that Josh had rearranged the pipe cleaners on a bear ornament I made years ago. Now it looks like a spider and had to be thrown away.
In other news, I only have two more Christmas movies to watch before I can return to my regular TV programs.
One of the highlights of my day was visiting Sister Betty Windle for her birthday. Sister Windle is an older sister in our ward who doesn't get out much because of failing health. When she realized I was there to wish her a happy birthday her face just lit up. It made my day!

Happy New Year!
Thank goodness we didn't have Church until 11 am today. I love this schedule, especially on days I have a lesson to give, like today. My lesson was for Relief Society and was on the life and ministry of George Albert Smith. What a wonderful, inspiring Prophet of God he was.
When we got in the car to come home I looked at the thermostat and it said 81 degrees. Not the way I want to start the new year! We need some clouds, rain, and cooler weather.
James came home and made one of our favorite meals, steak and gravy. It's yummy over the frozen Pillsbury biscuits I buy at Sam's Club. After a late lunch/early dinner it was nap time. When I started to awaken from my nap, I noticed it was dark outside but my alarm clock only said 5:09. James reminded me that the electricity had been off and I needed to reset my clock to 6:09. Wow this new Sunday schedule makes for a late nap time.
No day would be complete without Joshua watching "A Miser Brothers Christmas" and singing all of the songs.

BROOKE WHITE SIGHTING

I got a call from Darrel on Saturday in which he said: "Guess who's in front of Trina in the Paradise Bakery line?" "Who? " "Brooke White." "I'm there, don't lose her." Dallin and I jumped in my car and I grabbed Brooke's CD "Songs From the Attic" as I rushed out the door.
On the way to the Chandler mall I called Darrel and asked if she, Brooke, was still within sight.
"Oh, no, she left the food court awhile ago, but Trina knows where she is going. She's going to the Quicksilver store and then on to Nordstroms. I drove to the parking lot closest to Nordstrom's and quickly found a spot, not easy to do on a Saturday afternoon. As Dallin and I entered the store I was wishing I had remembered to bring my camera. I told Dallin we needed to go to the shoe department because I know Brooke really likes shoes. Trina had told me she was with her Mom and sister and she was wearing a green top and a white skirt. She was easy to spot right in front of the shoes and next to the makeup department. She was speaking to a woman who worked there and we just casually waited, pretending we were looking at the women's shoes. As she started to leave I sent Dallin after her with the CD cover and told him exactly where I wanted her to sign it. Bless his heart, he stopped her and that gave me time to casually saunter over. When she saw me she asked me where I got the CD but all I could say was "Thank you!" Now I realize that the CD was re-released without her permission. After we left I was wishing I would have said: "I loved you on American Idol." But I always think what to do and say after the fact. Thanks Darrel, Trina and Dallin for making my day before Mother's Day so great!!
