Jesus Christ, Judge
Alma 12:15
But this cannot be; we must come forth and stand before him in his glory, and in his power, and in his might, majesty, and dominion, and acknowledge to our everlasting shame that all his judgments are just; that he is just in all his works, and that he is merciful unto the children of men, and that he has all power to save every man that believeth on his name and bringeth forth fruit meet for repentance.

"Because of the Christ on Calvary"
Brad Wilcox

I got a call early this morning from Sheri. I guess Elder Manu, the elder who wanted to go home, tried to commit suicide last night. Ben was very close to him and he is heartbroken. He feels guilty that maybe he gave him the wrong advice. Anyway, Elder Manu had to go home and now Ben is spiraling into a depression. He doesn't want to do anything. This is the fourth elder who has tried to commit suicide since Ben has been an AP. I wonder if this is characteristic of other missions. It seems awfully high. The quarantine is much of the problem right now. We are worried about Ben and are praying for him along with our fasting and praying regarding Covid-19.

I finished the "Divine Gift of Forgiveness" on Deseret Book Plus and started Brad Wilcox's book, "Because of the Christ on Calvary."

Luna is here! James, Tom, and Anthony all brought her over this morning in Tom's truck and trailer. As soon as James put her in the corral she started whinnying. Maybe we should have named her Whinny. I went out and fed her a couple of apples and a couple of carrots. She seems to like to eat things off the ground. I tried to pet her. At first she kept moving away but then she was okay with it.
I had to take some pictures and send them to Addy.

James is going to fatten her up. He says she is
too skinny.

Trina texted me to ask about the potato salad recipe in Lois's cookbook. She also asked me what butter beans were. She says she hates to cook but she is going to make these two things for Darrel for Easter. I hope they turn out well for her.

We got pictures of Charlie with her Easter basket today. She is so adorable!

I love her crinkled nose!

How can I stand not being with her?

Kim and Brian had an interesting experience this afternoon. I'm going to quote from the text they sent:

"Brian and I went for a drive today just to get out of the house for a while. We eventually ended up at the Gilbert temple.
As we approached we saw a white dove flying around the temple. I felt hope.
As we were leaving, we stopped again for a minute to take a picture. As we were leaving 7 white doves flew away.
It made me feel peaceful and hopeful. Everything will be ok
Love you guys!"

James says that white doves are very rare in Arizona. I've never seen one.

I think Kim needed something to give her hope and this was what she was given. I wonder if she got a picture. I am going to ask.

James went on a two hour ride this evening with Luna. They saw three herd of elk. James was looking for elk antlers. This is the time of year when they shed them. Anthony told of someone he knows out where he lives that rode along the fence line and found several pair.

When James got home we broke our fast with a new chili recipe.

Afterwards we watched "The Other Side of Heaven 2". James loved it and I liked it too. It was a little sad in parts.

"Power to Overcome the Adversary"
Elder Peter M. Johnson
"Brothers and sisters, I share with you my love and declare unto you my witness that I know Heavenly Father lives and Jesus is the Christ. I love Them. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's kingdom upon the earth. We have a divine appointment to gather Israel and prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Messiah. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

"Take Up Our Cross"
Elder Ulisses Soares
"Brothers and sisters, I want to testify to you that taking upon us our cross and following the Savior requires us to follow His example and strive to become like Him, patiently facing the circumstances of life, denying and despising the appetites of the natural man, and waiting on the Lord. I testify to you that following our Master's footsteps and waiting on Him who is the ultimate healer of our lives will provide rest to our souls and make our burdens easy and light. Of these things I testify in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen."

I am so enjoying Sister Freeman's book, "Grace Where You Are" especially her drawings and explanation of The Tree of Life and The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

The Crane's are gone to Flagstaff. She is scheduled to have a colonoscopy on Tuesday and they went a few days early.

We met at the Peeler's this morning at 9:00 am. Brother Goodman has to be at the church at 10:30 to help collect fast offerings.
First we sang an opening hymn and Brother Peeler gave the opening prayer. We then sang "How Great the Wisdom and the Love" and James and Brother Goodman blessed and passed the bread and water. It was a sacred experience.

For our lesson we watched on their TV Brother Ben Wilcox's "Teaching with Power" lesson on Easter. It was wonderful. Afterwards we had a small testimony meeting. James bore his testimony and so did I along with Brother Goodman and Brother Peeler.

We visited a few minutes and then Brother Goodman had to leave so we left too. It is a beautiful Sabbath morning here in Vernon.
Both he and Barbara, and James coughed during our meeting. He said, "Everytime we walk passed those juniper trees we get the Coronavirus.

We broke our fast when we got home and had a rest time.

I spent some time today catching up on my study of JS-H. I also did two blog posts and most all of my ministering interviews for this quarter.

This afternoon we FaceTimed with Jared, Kacey, and run around Charlie. Charlie said he is probably getting layed off this week and we tried to convince them to come and see us. If Jared can't come, then Kacey, Tanner, and Charlie could. If James gets the corral finished we will be getting "Dottie" this week. I'm calling the horse/mare Dottie until we come up with a better name.

It was a wonderful Sabbath day. We always look forward to Charlie's Sunday photos and to Facetiming with our Texas family.
