Jesus Christ, Prophecies about
Ether 3:14
Behold, I am he who was prepared from the foundation of the world to redeem my people. Behold, I am Jesus Christ. I am the Father and the Son. In me shall all mankind have life, and that eternally, even they who shall believe on my name; and they shall become my sons and my daughters.

"Our Sorrow Will Be Turned into Joy"

Of the Seventy
Many years later Dad told me that if not for Ann's tragic death, he would never have been humble enough to accept the restored gospel. Yet the Spirit of the Lord instilled hope that what the missionaries taught was true. My parents' faith continued to grow until they each burned with the fire of testimony that quietly and humbly guided their every decision in life.
I will always be thankful for my parents' example to future generations. It is impossible to measure the number of lives forever changed because of their acts of faith in response to profound sorrow.

Forgiveness and Mercy
The willingness to forgive is a sign of spiritual and emotional maturity. Imagine a world filled with individuals willing both to apologize and to accept an apology. Is there any problem that could not be solved among people who possessed the humility and largeness of spirit and soul to do either - or both - when needed?
I had another spiritual experience last night and I woke up early feeling filled with love. This "experience" was regarding the Book of Mormon and proof of it throughout the ages. I took someone by the hand, his last name was Townsend, and bore testimony of the Book of Mormon. I asked him to please look me in the eye so he could "feel" what I was saying. When I woke up my testimony of the Book of Mormon was strengthened. I asked James if there was someone in Church history with the last name of Townsend. I couldn't look in my "Who's Who in the Doctrine and Covenants" because my new phone was being downloaded. James looked him up.
Joseph L. Townsend came to Salt Lake City in 1872 to try to improve his health. While there, he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was the writer of many LDS hymns including "Choose the Right" and "Oh What Songs of the Heart." He also wrote: "The Day Dawn is Breaking", "Nearer, Dear Savior. to Thee", "Reverently and Meekly Now", "Let Us Oft Speak Kind Words to Each Other", "O Thou Rock Of Our Salvation", "Hope of Israel", "Oh, Holy Words of Truth and Love", and "The Iron Rod."
What was the purpose of my dream? To learn to look people in the eye when I bear testimony to them. Tomorrow this truth will be reiterated in Relief Society. I will write about it then.
Sheri, Ian, Max, and Evan gave me a birthday card they signed and an Amazon gift card. The sentiments in the card were very touching, especially Ian's.
Interesting story about Ruby, Trina, and Addy. Trina had told Ruby that she needed to stand up for herself and be able to make a decision. Case in point. Both Ruby and Addy need to take morning showers at the same time. Ruby told Addy that she could take her shower in the morning and Ruby would take hers at night. Ruby said to Addy, "It's okay Addy, you can take your shower in the morning and I will take mine at night." Addy said, "Ruby, that's what we mean, stand up for yourself." Honestly, I think that is one of the things that makes Ruby so special. She always thinks of others first. I hope that never changes.
I got up at 4:30 and did some indexing. I went back to bed around 6:30 and got up again at 8. Sheri had to work this morning and she left a little after six. When I got up at 8 I got ready to go and James and I went out to Darrel and Trina's.
The first thing we did when we got to Darrel's was go upstairs to see Tater Tot. I asked Kacey if they had had breakfast and she said no. Trina was gone hiking with friends and Darrel was at work. Rowan was on the couch, Ruby was here, Lola was still at Suzy's with cousins, and Addy was out with other seniors doing Senior Sunrise.
We invited Kacey, Jared, Charlie, Ruby, and Rowan to go to breakfast with us. I wanted to go to First Watch and get pumpkin pancakes. Kacey was ready to go. Ruby came with us too. Rowan said no. The wait was too long at First Watch so we ended up going to a place Jared had seen earlier, Egg and Joe. We waited outside about 35 minutes and while we were waiting Charlie made a friend.
Inside the place was hopping and it was so noisy. They did not have pumpkin pancakes so I ordered fresh blueberry pancakes. Ruby ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice. James got a crab omelet, Kacey got an omelet with bacon and Jared got eggs benedict. Charlie got a pancake with a face. She also got cute play masks to wear.
The food was delicious but of course I could not eat four pancakes so I took some home to share with Sheri later today or tomorrow.
Jared and Kacey wanted to do a little shopping at the new Deseret Industries right next to where we ate. Ruby wanted to get home to Tater Tot so we took her home.
Addy was home and she told Ruby that she had cleaned Tater's cage. Ruby set up an area downstairs where Tater could run around. As Ruby found out, Tater doesn't mind very well.
Maybe she feels safer there or more like she is in her cage.
We visited with Trina for awhile and before we got ready to leave she gave me an Amazon card for my birthday and a card with an Amazon gift card from Lois and Dawn. I'm striking it rich with these gift cards. Thank you everyone!
We got back to Sheri's a little after noon. Sheri helped me to order a new Iphone Pro 12 online and arranged for us to pick it up at the Chandler Mall later this afternoon.
James stayed at Sheri's while Sheri and I met Trina, Ruby, Jared, Kacey, and Charlie at Creme de Chocolat where Addy is working. James said he was going to go over to LaCroix's if she was home. He ended up doing some grocery shopping at Sprouts.
We all ordered something from Addy and then we sat and visited while Ruby played hide and go seek with Charlie. Really, there were not many places to hide because it is really a small place but Charlie had so much fun. Ruby is so great to play with her as she did. Lola is still at Grandma Suzy's who is babysitting Westley and Lacey's girls while they are in Hawaii.
Sheri and I got a text from Apple around 5 that my phone was ready to be picked up. Jared, Kacey, and Charlie followed us over. Jared wanted to find an ASU shirt and a Booker Suns shirt. Charlie went with Sheri and I to the Apple store. She is so good and easy to take places and Sheri insists on taking her which is fine with me. Plus, Charlie wanted to go with us. She can see her parents anytime!
My phone has not been backed up for awhile. I got my new phone but we kept the old one so we could go home and finish backing it up. I have to call Apple later and arrange for a trade-in kit. Of course I got a purple case. The phone seems small than my last one but the picture is just as big. Sheri has the 11Pro Max which is a little bigger, but this one is fine for me.
When we got back to Sheri's we decided to order Elmer's for dinner. Sheri ordered it and paid for ours and went to pick it up. There credit card machine was down so she had to go to the bank and get cash and then go back. I got a mini bean and cheese which I ate today and a machaca burro to eat tomorrow. James got a machaca burro and strips. Kacey loved the bean and cheese and so did Charlie.
While Sheri was gone picking up the food the dogs just stared out the window waiting for her. Ollie is a very nervous dog, Sheri says it's because he was neutered too young. His house was full of people he didn't know and his mama was gone. He was so happy when she returned.
We love these men!
Tomorrow we are doing a potluck at Darrel and Trina's after Jared's ordination. We were going to go by Joe's BBQ and get some of their beans because James doesn't care for Bush Beans. Trina volunteered to go get the beans. Trina said she wouldn't be making it to game night at Stacy and Paul's because she had to wait over an hour in line at Joe's for the beans. Darrel won't be there either because he is working. I felt so bad about asking Trina to get the beans now. I wonder if she had called ahead and ordered them to pickup if it would have been faster. I had forgotten how busy Joe's is on a Saturday.
After our Elmer's dinner, Sheri, Jared, Kacey, Charlie, James and I all went over to Stacy and Paul's who had invited everyone over to play games. Brian and Kim were there too. We played a fun game. I usually don't like new games but this one was great. It's called Wits and Wagers. Paul asked a question that no one could possibly know the answer to, such as, how many people over 100 years old live in the United States. You write down your answer on a small white card and put it on a playing felt. Answers are ranked from highest to lowest. You bet on one or two answers and then Paul reads to answer. The closest answer without going over the amount wins. James was asleep when we started so Sheri and I were partners. Jared and Kacey, Brian and Kim, Stacy by herself, and Paul by himself. Brian and Kim won on the last question. There are 72,000 people over 100 in the U.S. They said 40,000 and bet on themselves. It was fun, you didn't have to be smart, just be able to guess, and yet we learned some things too. I told Kacey to be careful of Shipley with Charlie. Sheri got a little upset with me but I wanted Kacey to be forewarned.
I told her Shipley is good with adults but doesn't necessarily do well with small children. Sure enough, she was laying on my lap when Charlie came over to pet her and she began to growl. Stacy took her and put her upstairs with Sophie, Jared Ammon's little dog.
Sheri is trying to get rid of the 46,000 photos on my phone. I am very grateful for her and her help. There is a story behind it but it's really quite boring so I'm not sharing it here.
