And let thy house be filled, as with a rushing mighty wind, with thy glory.

I got a call from Kathy Crane this morning. She was going to town and wondered if I needed anything. I thanked her for her thoughtfulness but told her I was going to town this afternoon to the temple. I told her about my quest to find out what was causing my face to swell and told her I was giving up diet drinks. She gave her opinion, that she didn't think that diet drinks was the problem. That's fine, she is entitled to her opinion.

I spent the morning at home while James was working at the Hipps's.
I knew I was going to the temple this afternoon and wouldn't be getting any steps so I did some walking this morning while listening to "Home to Bellingham." I also worked on my blog. I fed Tom and rubbed him down and then he went upstairs to sleep on James's office chair.

James came home around noon. He heated up some meatloaf and potatoes for lunch then he came in for a nap. By this time Tom was asleep on our bed and James joined him.

These two are buds

At 1:15 I began getting ready for the temple. I left at 2:00.  The session starts at 3:30 so I had plenty of time. I listened to "Follow Him" on the way down and finished it on the way home.

The sky is overcast and there were a few raindrops as I went in to the temple. I sat down in the second row of the endowment room and saved the place next to me for my friend Ruth Gale. Ruth lives close by in Snowflake and she leaves for the temple at 3. She was babysitting three of her great grandchildren until 3.

After our session we went to Eva's to talk and have dinner. Ruth had two cheese enchiladas with red sauce. I had a beef taco, cheese enchilada with red sauce and some rice and beans. I saved rice and beans for tomorrow's breakfast.

Ruth and I had a lot of catching up to do. She told me about a trip to Utah that she and her friend Jewels Turley made on Frontier Airlines for $60. The only luggage you could take was a small carry on. She said Jewels fell on her face while in Utah and then when they returned to Snowflake she fell on her back while she and Ruth were getting ready to go for a walk. I told her about my friends Millie Scott and Patsy Tedder falling. Is this what old people do? Talk about their friends falling?

We shared some family stories. I told her about Tom and how much we love him. She told me about her daughter Janice's cat Barbara. They got another cat and now Barbara refuses to come in the house as long as the other cat is there.

We talked about the Snowflake High School 100 year reunion and how all graduates are invited to the 24th of July activities and the parade. She said James and I could park at her house if we decided to come. I told her James was the student body president and we should probably come. She agreed. I told her I knew she had made a quilt for the reunion. She said LaDon Warner bought the fabric and asked her to make the quilt, which she did. The fabric has Lobos on it.

We said our goodbyes and said we would meet again next month.

When I got home James had been upstairs doing some office work. He is concerned about getting paid for the Chacon job  and finishing the Bama Barbershop for Daryl Johnson. Daryl demanded new doors and James finally relented and is buying four new doors for him. I think we may lose money on this job.

James walked this evening and finally finished listening to "Flat Deception."

I watched another Aurora Teagarden mystery.

More rain today. It feels more like the end of July or August instead of June. I'm not complaining though, we love it! It helps with the fires too.

My arm "froze" today while I was trying to sweep the kitchen floor so I called and made an appointment with Dr. Moffat. It has been two weeks since I hurt it.

Today I listened to Barbara and Elaine on "Walk with Him." They discussed Elder Rasband's talk, "Words Matter." Here are a few notes that I took:
Barbara's daughter Allie said to her: "Mom is my favorite word."
Elaine's word of the week is restraint.
Hear Him
Scriptures, Holy Ghost, Prophetic words, Thank you, I am sorry, I love you.
Elaine reminded us that President Nelson has asked us to be aware of our spiritual gifts and to pray for them.
Study our patriarchal blessings.

I made a meatloaf and some scalloped potatoes for dinner. James was very appreciative. Also steamed some fresh broccoli to go with it.
James wanted me to go to town with him but I had food in the oven cooking. He seemed sad and didn't end up going.

This evening he walked and listened to "Flat Deception" while I watched an episode of "Aurora Teagarden" with Tomster in the family room. James watched part of it with me but decided he needed to go to bed by 9 because he gets up at 5 to go to work.  I stayed up until 9:30. I'm such a night owl.

The Tomster stretched out waiting for his
back rub.

"Swallowed Up in the Joy of Christ" Elder Brian K. Taylor
D&C 109:37-40
37 And let thy house be filled, as with a rushing mighty wind, with thy glory.
38 Put upon thy servants the testimony of the covenant, that when the go out and proclaim thy word they may seal up the law, and prepare the hearts of thy saints for all those judgments thou art about to send, in thy wrath, upon the inhabitants of the earth, because of their transgressions, that thy people may not faint in the day of trouble.
39 And whatsoever city thy servants shall enter, and the people of that city receive their testimony, let thy peace and thy salvation be upon that city; that they may gather out of that city the righteous, that they may come forth to Zion, or to her stakes, the places of thine appointment, with songs of everlasting joy;
40 And until this be accomplished, let not thy judgments fall upon that city.

My face is still swollen so I missed my meetings today. James came home and reported to me that Ron and Denice Hall spoke in sacrament meeting and how good Denice's talk was she spoke about forgiveness and loving others for who they are. Here are some notes that James took:
"His yoke is easy and His burden is light."
How often do we judge without the facts.
Love & charity. Love others and do not judge them.
When we confront trials the Lord will love and heal us.
Satan's greatest desire is to divide God's children.
My brother was in prison and I wanted nothing to do with him, until he called me and asked me to visit.
My daughter, whom we raised in the gospel, is no an atheist.

Ron Hall was our first bishop when we moved to Vernon. He is the nephew of someone I dated in high school, Keith Butler. His grandpa, Claude Butler was my bishop when I was growing up in Show Low. Ron has a slow and easy way about him and he always brings the Spirit. I wasn't there to hear him speak but these are some notes that James took:
"The Need for a Church" by President Oaks.
If we are offended, we choose to be offended.
Why do we go to church?
Not what I can get out of it, but what can I do to help someone else.

Bishop Hall also gave the lesson in Elder's Quorum and James said he did a great job.

I got this text from my friend Kristine Hipps:
I'm so sorry you're in pain today. We so missed you presenting your lesson but Rosie did a phenomenal job subbing for you!
My response:
Thank you Kristine.
Rosie is a great teacher and I am so grateful for her!

I spent a quiet day at home. I watched and listened to Barbara and her guest Diedre Green on "Grounded."

James is not feeling well. He says he feels like he is getting the flu. He came home, heated up some left over pizza for our lunch, and then went in to take a nap.

Tom was doing a little exploring this morning while James was at church and pulled a mousetrap with a mouse in it out from under the oven. I texted James and told him James had left a surprise for him in the kitchen. He mentioned again how that mouse wouldn't be there if Tom was doing is job.

Tom follows me around. He does not want to go outside. It was an overcast, rainy day and he doesn't like the rain. He finally fell asleep at the end of our bed.

I made James a kraut dog for dinner at his request. I had a regular hot dog. We both love the Hebrew National hotdogs. It was so nice outside with the rain that we ate dinner out on our deck.

I love the smell of rain on pine trees. It smells so good!

James worked on indexing this evening a little on my computer. He is doing a presentation at the Relief Society activity on Thursday evening.

James made brownies for us this evening. They are delicious. He put both walnuts and pecans.

I read a chapter from "Teaching with Power" by Tad R. Callister and his wife, and then James and I watched the season finale of "When Calls the Heart."
