I want to include some of the comments that were made regarding the First Presidency's message yesterday. The best came from James and Jared and Paul:

I slept most of the morning. James loves the beans I made him and that makes me happy. I had some with the last of the cornbread and they were quite tasty.

This afternoon James and I went for a ride up the Green's Peak Rd. in the truck. We wanted to see all of the flowers and there were quite a few. The dark purple were our favorites. We came out on the 260 and saw some antelope. We went through Eagar and Springerville and back home on the 60. It was greener that I can ever remember seeing it, so beautiful.  We came upon an accident. A pickup rolled off the highway. Help was there. I just hope no one was hurt too badly. 

As we made the turn onto the Vernon road, we saw the Goodman's going the opposite direction. They probably wondered where we had been. We waved and I told James they were probably going on their weekly date.

James got Terry and Cathi to submit plans to Maricopa county for the LaCroix job. They didn't accept them because they said he needs to have a plot plan, which makes no sense at all. This is just a roof for a patio and there is no reason they should need the plot plan. The county should have the plot plan on file but they want James to come up with it. There is so much red tape to go through and it is so difficult to talk to anyone. Everything has to be done online. Terry and Cathi to the rescue again.

I finally finished my indexing project which had 1,954 names!

I slept in the bedroom and James slept in the family room. He felt good enough to watch some TV before going to bed.

Ate, took some Tramadol and went back to bed. 

Anthony can't find his breathing machine that the elders delivered on Tuesday. James called the elders and they said they put it on his porch. Anthony finally found it in the back of his truck in a bag. Here is what he thinks happened. He was a little delirious and saw a bag sitting on his front porch and thought it was trash so he put it in the back of his truck. The sad thing is that he's had the machine since Tuesday and just now found it. 

James and I went to town to mail Joshua's birthday card like I mailed Rowan's on Monday. It felt good to get out of the house for a little while. We love all of the flowers and green from the rain. It rained again today. James suggested that we go for a ride up on the mountain tomorrow to see the wildflowers up there. I told him I thought that was a good idea.

The First Presidency came out with a statement today regarding masks and vaccinations which caused quite a stir in our family. Here is the statement made by the First Presidency:

Now that James and I have experienced Covid we should have immunities built up. Stacy says it is dangerous to get the vaccine to close after having Covid. The CDC is not sure what affect the vaccine has on people who have auto-immune diseases which I have and many in our family have. This reminds me of the Israelites being told by the prophet Moses to  look at the snake on the stick to be healed and many would not. 

So sad to see this house go. It has been a major landmark

for years.

Jesus Christ is the light that we should hold up even during the dark times of our mortal life (see 3 Nephi 18:24). When we choose to follow Christ, we choose to be changed. A man or woman changed for Christ will be captained by Christ, and we will be asking, as Paul did, "Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?" (Acts 9:6). We will "follow his steps" ( 1 Peter 2:21). We will "walk, even as he walked" (1 John 2:6).

I got up at 2 a.m. and ate something and then worked on my blog. I tried  to go back to sleep but I had a hard time getting comfortable. I finally got comfortable in the recliner in the bedroom and slept for awhile. 

Neither of us feel any better today. I have some nausea. Our neighbor Kathy went to town today and is bringing back Ivermectin and some AAA batteries so James can check his blood pressure. Barbara  checked in on us this morning and so did Sheri. 

James and I had scriptures and prayers and listened to "The Blue Orchid Society." We got some rain again today which always cools things off and makes for a beautiful day. 

We had a Caesar salad and some cornbread for lunch. I feel a little better this afternoon. At 5:08 p.m. it is 70% and beautiful. Kathy doesn't return from town until after 7. She left at 9 this morning so it was a long day for her. We are grateful for the errands she did for us. 

This evening we watched the latest Mystery 101 episode starring Jill Wagoner and Kris Polaha. I like both of these actors but I'm really not much of a fan of murder mysteries. 

I went to bed around 10 but never went to sleep. I moved from the bed to the two recliners and back. I felt like a weight was on my chest and I couldn't breathe. I woke James up and he gave me a blessing and told me about the breathing treatments Brian sent. I practiced those breathing treatments and was able to get some rest.

What is our responsibility as peaceful disciples of Jesus Christ? Let us live God's commandments, teach them to our children, and share them with others who are willing to listen. Let us share our deep feelings about the sanctity of life with those who make decisions in society. They may not fully appreciate what we believe, but we pray that they will more fully understand why, for us, these decisions go well beyond just what a person wants for his or her own life.

If an unanticipated child is expected, let us reach out with love, encouragement, and, when needed, financial help, strengthening a mother in allowing her child to be born and continue his or her journey in mortality.

Barbara strikes again. Barbara is Pierce's wife and she is also my ministering sister. This time she made us a Ritz chicken casserole and some lemon squares. Lemon squares are James's favorite! I put the casserole in the over for 30 minutes and we had a nice lunch. Very tasty. 

Our ministering brother, Collin took James's prints to the printshop. They have always charged us $5 before but this time they charged Collin $14. James called and complained and finally the guy said he would give a refund if Collin would come back. Collin was already back in Vernon. James called around and found that The UPS Store is much cheaper. He called back Allegra and told them he would not be doing business with them anymore. I venmoed the $10 we owe Collin to his wife Wendy because he doesn't have a Venmo account. 

Chuck got our mail for us and there was alot!

The package on the bottom had the cutest teapot and cup and saucer I wanted to give to my friend Pam but when I opened it, the only thing still intact was the teapot, everything else was broken. Now I have to return this one and order another one. I can't return this one until I am over Covid. So frustrating.

I got a call from our next door neighbor, Kathy, Chuck's wife. She is going into town tomorrow and wants to know if there is anything she can get us. James told me to ask if she could get us some more Ivermectin and some AAA batteries. I told Kathy and said I would leave a $20 bill on the front porch tomorrow morning for her to pick up. I guess James is right, this really is the Zion ward.

The elders took Anthony his breathing machine and left it on his front porch. Hopefully Anthony will find it.

James also called and talked to his mom today about Covid and Cancer. He told her about the different treatments available for his cancer. He said he wanted to do the Hi-FOO treatment which is the high frequency ultrasound but that it cost $18,500. She offered to pay for it for him. Of course he said no but that was so sweet of her. 

Started reading "The Blue Orchid Society: Inventing Vivien" with James. I think he is going to like it. I've already read it but I didn't tell him that. 

For dinner I heated up Kathy's chicken noodle soup and added some ramen noodles and seasoning to it. I also made some cornbread. After cleaning the kitchen I went to bed around nine. James slept in the family room recliner because he coughed most of the day and he thinks it might be because he slept in the bed last night. 

We got more rain today! Everything is so beautiful here!
