I am teaching in the Savior's Way when I foster an environment of Learning and Love - inviting the Spirit to personally tutor myself and those around me.

After studying, praying, and blogging I took an hour or so to dust and vacuum the family room and living room. We get so much dust in these two rooms. This dust is not always visible until the afternoon when the sun comes through the windows.

James made an appointment at 11:00 today at Walmart to get two new tires for my car. He said he will save over a hundred dollars by getting them at Walmart instead of Discount Tire. We left the house around 10:20 and drove straight to Walmart arriving just in time. While James took the car in, I went inside the store to start my shopping. When he was finished he called me and I gave him some shopping assignments. The tire shop said it would take about 35 minutes, luckily it took longer because we had a lot of shopping to do. We ended up spending $277 for groceries and $202.60 for tires.

I am so grateful for James's help shopping, especially when it comes time to checkout. We always find a scan and go and check ourselves out. We only needed help two times from the attending clerk.

We went through the drive-thru of Firehouse Subs for lunch. I got a small steak and cheese and James got a medium brisket and cheddar. I wasn't that hungry. We got both of them on whole wheat to up our fiber intake for the day.

When we got home I went straight to the bedroom to change into my comfy clothes. While I was changing, James was bringing in the groceries and putting them away. He left me a few. After all our purchases were put away I sat down in my recliner chair to relax. I finished watching an old Hallmark movie, "My Boyfriends Dogs" starring Erica Christensen. It's a 2014 movie but it's one of my favorites.

James went to the Gordon's to unload the lumber and get started on the repair of the building they will be moving on Thursday. While James was gone I walked, finished my blog, and listened to "Unshaken Saints", and "His Accidental Bride" while I walked. I also listened to a women's conference talk by David Morgan, "Mental Health Strategies for a Happier Life: A Personalized Toolkit."

I took a dinner break and ate the wok seared shrimp and steak James got me yesterday from Panda. James had a Banquet pot pie. He said they were so much cheaper than the Marie Callender's and he liked them.

I had problems getting on FamilySearch but when I finally did I indexed 300 names this evening. Afterwards I read a chapter from "Glorious Truths About Emma Smith" and a few pages from "The Making of America." I lead a truly blessed life and I am so grateful for my blessings. I still marvel at the miracle of my sciatic nerve healing and I thank Heavenly Father daily.

Jesus Christ, Power of
Abraham 3:17

The Lord has said, "Thou shalt live together in love, insomuch that thou shalt weep for the loss of them that die."
While we weep, we also rejoice in the glorious Resurrection of our Savior. Because of Him, our loved ones and friends continue their eternal journey. As President Joseph F. Smith explained: "We can not forget them; we do not ease to love them. . . .They have advanced; we are advancing; we are growing as they have grown." President Russell M. Nelson said, "Our tears of sorrow . . . turn to tears of anticipation."

Study #4 - Increase Your Faith
Week 5
Teaching in the Savior's Way
by Jan Newman

I worked on my Inklings notebook this morning, re-listened to Emily and Rio on weeks 3 and 4, ranoff the pages for The Redheaded Hostess Come Follow Me study, and finished my Sunday notes in my Sunday journal. Here are some notes I took while listening to Rio and Emily:
"Surrendering to God is not to resign, but to realign."

"Look unto Jesus who is the author and the finisher of our faith."

"If you can believe."
"I believe, help thou mine unbelief."

I also listened to "Don't Miss This" and "Follow Him" as part of my 'Come Follow Me' study.

While listening to a women's conference talk I found out about a manual that the church has under Life Help - Self-Reliance on the Gospel Library app. It's called the 'Emotional Resilience for Self-Reliance' manual. I told Sheri about it. She said she was supposed to take the class in her ward but she never went. She was grateful to know the manual was on the Gospel Library app.

James went to town to get some lumber to repair Holly's and Charlie's building they are trying to move. For a small amount of lumber it cost over $200. Prices are sky high! While he was gone I polished the kitchen and dining room floor. It's so much easier to do when no one is here. I also worked on finishing my blog. It is taking forever because I had trouble with my computer. I listened to two more women's conference classes:

"Lift Up Your Voice: Encouraging Women to Speak Out and Speak Up" - by Ally Isom

"Happiness: More Than Not Miserable" - by Neill and David
Marriott

James brought me home a taco from town and some wok seared shrimp and chicken. I ate the taco but put the other meal in the frig for later.

I indexed over 300 names today and walked 12,000 steps, plus I finished blogging for yesterday. I listened to my new audio book, "His Accidental Bride." It was a good day for me. James still has sore ribs most of the time so I ordered him a new back brace.

Our decisions can yield long-term advantages or disadvantages. As the Lord revealed, "If a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come."
When others receive benefits because of their diligent choices, we cannot rightly conclude that we have been treated unfairly when we have had the same opportunity.

We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful mothers in our family. We love and appreciate you so much! James started out by bringing me my oatmeal and my tea. He helped me put my mustard seed necklace on before going to church. This necklace was supposed to be my Mother's Day gift. He also got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a gorilla cart to use when I work outside.

Beautiful flowers!

When I was at the Grapp's on Thursday they
had a Gorilla cart. I told James I would love to have one
to use when I'm working outside.

This is the cart the Grapp's have. It is a little
different than mine. It has four wheels and it
dumps. I think mine is smaller and more
suited to me.

James wanted to get to church a few minutes early because Chuck is not here and he is in charge of asking two people to prepare and bless the sacrament. I forgot to post the photos of James filling the plastic vials with oil so they can consecrate them in Elder's Quorum.
He did this last night and I just had to take a couple of pictures.

The Miller's were the speakers in church today. We had a visiting area authority seventy, Elder Shumway, who lives in Taylor. I think he is taking Elder Heyman's place.

The Miller's talked about their mothers and others who have had motherly influence on them. The Miller's, Ed and Debbie are the parents of our former bishop who moved to Kansas with his wife and children. Debbie's mom was one of my Beehive advisor's and she mentioned me in her talk when she was talking about her mom as one who knew how her mom was. I also loved Debbie's dad, Leland.
He had a hardware/dime store just down from my dad's grocery store when I was growing up. I would go down to visit with him because he was such a nice man. Leland Grapp is named after him because Cammy knew him and loved him too.

Something funny happened while Ed was speaking. He started talking about his five children. He turned to look at Debbie and she held up four fingers. They have four children but for some reason Ed thought they had five. He talked about being a convert and how Debbie and her family shared the gospel with him. He was so amazed when he went to their home and they knelt for family prayer. Her family was a great example to him as they were to me. I loved Debbie's sister Janice, who was the last person to see my mother alive because she was the nurse at the doctor's office where my mom went on that fatal day. Also, Debbie's brother Gordon used to walk me to church from our store, up the hill to the chapel in the middle of Show Low. And their son, Wesley, Bishop Miller, was our bishop and we loved him.

During the second hour the men stayed in the chapel and the women went into the second overflow with the bishopric. Bishop Hunsaker made us fruit salad. We ate and then we talked about mothers. Wendy D. was the first sister to get up. She had two books in her hands. One was the life history of her mother and the other of her father. She said this was the greatest thing they left her, a history of their lives so the hearts of her family could be turned to them.
Others who got up and shared stories about their mothers: Tamara A., Paula J., Kim A., Nadine S., Stefani H., Bishop, Brother Goodman and Brother Grapp and last but not least Sister Scott. It was a very enjoyable meeting and I felt a great deal of love for Bishop Hunsaker for giving so much of himself to show his love for the sisters of our ward.

James made me a wonderful meal this afternoon. He cooked a filet steak to perfection, baked a potato and smothered it in butter, and for green on the plate there were olives that he stuffed himself, and green beans. Everything was delicious!

James is not fancy but this food was delicious.
The steak looks small but it was so juicy and tender!
Dessert:
New York style cheesecake with fresh
strawberries and whipped cream.
One of my favorite desserts.

I received messages from the following people wishing me a Happy Mother's Day: Kacey, Jared, Stacy, Adam, Michael, Sheri, Kim, Brian, Darrel, Trina, and Addy. I love all of my family but these people made me feel loved, as James did today.

Sometimes the decisions we make in our marriage are critical and vital. I put my partner first after he served me the entire day.

This is the evening Kim and I have been waiting for. It's the Season 8 Finale of "When Calls the Heart" and Elizabeth is going to choose between Nathan and Lucas. Kim and I both like Lucas but we feel that Elizabeth is going to choose Nathan because he is a Mountie and she is reminded of Jack. We were wrong! She chose Lucas and we are so happy! Not so with many fans. They are upset because she didn't choose Nathan and are threatening to not watch the show anymore. Oh well. The episode was called "The Kiss", and they did.
