I testify to you that the promises given by our dear prophet are the promises given by the Savior Himself. I invite all of us to "hear Him" in every thought and follow Him with all our heart in order to obtain the strength and courage to say, "No" and "Get thee hence" to all the things that might bring unhappiness into our life. If we do so, I promise that the Lord will send an added measure of His Holy Spirit to strengthen and comfort us and we may become individuals after the Lord's own heart.

None other has had so profound an influence upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth.
I felt that my personal prayer was meaningful this morning and I felt the Spirit testify to me that the gospel is true. I also listened to three conference talks this morning, one from the last conference, and two that coincide with "Come Follow Me", generalconferencedaily and generalconference365 on Instagram.
Brother Morris of the stake high council was the speaker today in our Church meeting. He says he is new to the high council and moved up here from the valley to spend more time with his family, but he is finding it is just as busy up here as it is in the valley. He has four children and is a general contractor. He said he has felt a void in his life with the temple being closed. He attended a session yesterday where his friend had all of his grown children in the temple with him as the youngest of the children went through for his own endowments and to be sealed to his wife.
Brother Morris was asked to speak on "Let God Prevail", and "The Culture of Christ". He told a story about when he was at football practice in high school. It was 5:45 and he sees his dad walking across the field. His dad walks up to him and reminds him that tonight is family night. Brother Morris was so embarrassed to leave practice early. The other players were punished because he left early with his dad. His dad told him that from 6-midnight was family night and it would always be as long as he lived. "There is no success to compensate for failure in the home." We must prepare our children for what is coming on the earth. Can others tell we are disciples of Christ? Do we radiate the Spirit? We can do hard things. Let's build Daniels, Davids, Esthers, and Peters. Are we willing to let God prevail in our lives? Simplify. Part of the challenge is the breaking down and the re-building. I know the Book of Mormon is true. Start with reading from your Book of Mormon 5 minutes a day. I wrote Evan's name in the margins of my journal. I came home and invited him to read 5 minutes a day from the Book of Mormon and he said he would. I said I would check on him every Sunday and he was okay with that too.
I missed my friend Ginger at church today. I texted her and she said she needed to stay home to be of support to her husband today. I asked her if I could pray for her and her family. She said yes. She said she had visited her mom and sister in New Mexico and would I please pray for them too.
I worked on my blog this afternoon, took a rest, and then began getting ready for our "Come Follow Me" meeting this evening. I looked for my Easter creche but could not find it. I cleaned the hall bathroom, put a clean tablecloth on the dining room table, and made sure the kitchen, and family room was clean. We got a text from Kathy Crane saying Chuck was under the weather and they wouldn't be coming. Barbara's sister Vicky is gone to Utah to see a great grandchild, so it was just six of us: Owen, Donna, Pierce, Barbara, James, and I. James made his two cobblers cherry and peach.
We had a great discussion on D&C 27-28, "All Things Must Be Done in Order." The two cobblers were delicious but I think my favorite was the peach.
