'Embrace the Future with Faith'
President Russell M. Nelson
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
My dear sisters, let us not just endure this current season. Let us embrace the future with faith! Turbulent times are opportunities for us to thrive spiritually. They are times when out influence can be much more penetrating than in calmer times.
I promise that as we create places of security, prepare our minds to be faithful to God, and never stop preparing, God will bless us.
He will "deliver us; yea, insomuch that he will speak peace to our souls, and will grant unto us great faith, and . . . cause us that we can hope for our deliverance in him."
As you prepare to embrace the future with faith, these promises will be yours!

His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come.

Sheri got her around 10:30. We are so glad she is here. James and I left for town around 12:15 for my surgery on my right eye at Barnet-Delaney-Perkins. I was to be there at 12:50 and did not want to be late. Last time they took me right back. This time I did a lot of waiting.  My surgery didn't even start until after 3.

Putting the port in for my anesthesia was the worst part of this entire process. The girl could not find a vein in my arm, (I wish Tiffany from the arthritis center was here), so she put the port in my hand which was painful and even more painful when the doctor put the anesthesia in. The second most painful thing was the automatic blood pressure cuff they put on my right arm. I was squeezing my arm so tightly that I was about ready to scream. I told one of the nurses and she put it on my lower arm which helped a little. The actual surgery itself was a piece of cake and only took 15 minutes or so.

They rolled me to the recovery room, made me get up from the bed and sit in a chair, took my blood pressure, offered me something to drink and I chose apple juice, and I was on my way with James who had been waiting for me.

Of course I have an eye patch over my right eye. Sheri calls me a pirate.

Bless James. He went to LaCasita and got me my favorite meal, a chicken enchilada with red sauce with rice and beans. I did not eat it until I got home and then I couldn't eat all of it.

Sheri had taken the boys to Pizza Factory for dinner.

James got his lab reports. Out of the five broken ribs he got when Luna bucked him off, three are still broken. No wonder he is in so much pain! The report on his prostate was not good.  The average score for a person his age is 6. His score was 11, which means it is very enlarged and the doctor wants to check for cancer so he referred him to a urologist. My brother Harold had prostate cancer and he took treatments and it is now in remission. I told James to call and talk to him.

This evening Sheri and I watched the following movies:
"It Was Always You"
"Mix-up in the Mediterranean"
"Playing Cupid"
Earlier I told Sheri to watch an older movie, "Love Under the Stars" starring Wes Brown and Ashley Williams. I know she likes Wes Brown. At one point we gave the TV in the family room to Max to watch either a basketball game or "The Twilight Zone." We came in our bedroom to finish watching.

With the Lord's promises, we "lift up our hearts and rejoice" (D&C 25:13), and "with a glad heart and a cheerful countenance" (D&C 59:15), we go forward on the covenant path. Most of us do not face decisions of giant proportions, like leaving our homes to pioneer an unknown land. Our decisions are mostly in the daily routines of life, but as the Lord has told us, "Be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great" (D&C 64:33).

Restoration Proclamation
P1 S3
By the power of the Father, Jesus rose again and gained the victory over death.

The Living Christ
P11 S3
He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world.

"If we are going to prepare the world for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ then we have to have the faith to declare it."
Jared Halverson

Sheri got her stimulus check today. It was $7,000, $1,400 for each person living at their house. We probably won't get outs for awhile like we did last time.

James went in to town this morning to do errands and to get an x-ray and bloodwork done. He needed to get horse feed, pick up the bench that goes in our bedroom that he had re-covered.

I love it!

Max went off this morning on the Razr alone and without asking permission. He was gone for quite some time and came back with wet clothes which we immediately put in the washing machine.

Evan and Joshua both go on a walk and visit Luna. It is too muddy to ride her.

Since today is St. Patrick's Day I put on my new green socks. No one even seemed to notice.
They are more green than they
look in this picture.

James called Sheri this afternoon and asked if she would go by Chandler Auto Body to pick up our garage door opener and James's keys. She said she would but that she would be coming tomorrow morning instead of this evening because she was too tired.

For dinner Max cooked hotdogs. I made frozen pizza for Joshua and Evan and also asparagus and some strawberries. James tried to dip the strawberries and hoped the chocolate would harden but it never did. It had a good flavor but was not the type of chocolate to harden.

Stacy called me this evening to tell me about her friend Nikki. She invited Nikki, who works with Stacy and is a former stripper, to dinner like she promised the missionaries she would. She bore her testimony and told her about the gospel and what it means to her in her life. She called to ask me if she could bring Nikki and her family up here sometime in the future. She said she wanted Nikki to be in a home where you can feel the Spirit like you can in ours. She says she doesn't feel it in her own home. Of course I told her it would be fine to bring her up. Thank you Stacy for the compliment.

I started a new audio book, "The Dowry of Lady Eliza."
