The Savior's teaching to love our enemies is based on the reality that all mortals are beloved children of God. That eternal principle and some basic principles of law were tested in the recent protests in many American cities.

I got a check from Amazon today for $789.66! I still have $312 in my account. That will help to pay for some of those books I bought!

Luna has been rolling in the mud. Maybe she doesn't like being a paint horse and she wants to be brown.

Something is happening, I am developing a sore throat and a bit of a wet cough. James told Chuck and Kathy who has had Covid, called to talk to me. Everyone is so quick to diagnosis.

Because I did not get to visit with Dennis on Thursday at Harold's party, I called him today to see how he was doing. He told me all about his diagnosis of water on his ear and how he had been to a audiologist and gotten a shot directly into his ear. He has to have three more shots. Dennis's dizziness and nausea problems sound a lot like Kim's. I wish she would go to an audiologist just to see if she has the same problem he does.

I re-polished the wood floor today and it looks so nice. I need to do this three or four times a year. Stacy and Joshua are coming up this evening. They left a little while ago. Stacy's birthday is on Monday and she wants to celebrate part of it up here so her dad can take her on a Razr ride and fix her venison gravy and biscuits.

They arrived before 8 pm. I'm glad Joshua  came with her so she didn't have to come by herself. Michael tried to talk him into staying at home for the Super Bowl but the draw to come up here must have been stronger, although I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because Stacy said they weren't coming back until Monday which means he will miss school.

Stacy brought a pizza from Pizza Factory for her and Josh for dinner and offered to share with James and I. I had one piece. Joshua went upstairs to play online games with Evan and friends while Stacy and I watched "Call the Midwife." I don't know why I don't watch this show more because I really do love it. James indexed while we watched the show. I indexed earlier and now my monthly total is 985. My goal is 1250 a week.

Monte was a great coach and well-liked by the community

'Recommended To The Lord
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
To be "recommended to the Lord" is to be reminded of what is expected of a covenant-keeping Latter-day Saint. My father-in-law, Blaine, saw it as invaluable preparation for the day when he would humbly stand before the Lord.
Consider when Moses climbed Mount Horeb and the Lord Jehovah appeared to him in a burning bush. God told him, "Put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Putting off our shoes at the door of the temple is letting go of worldly desires or pleasures that distract us from spiritual growth, setting aside those things which sidetrack our precious mortality, rising above contentious behavior, and seeking time to be holy.
When the Lord appeared to the Nephites, He commanded, "Be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me" "What manner of men ought ye to be?" asked the Lord and then answered, "Even as I am." To be "recommended to the Lord," we strive to be like Him.

P6 S2
This Church is anchored in the perfect life of its chief cornerstone, Jesus Christ, and in His infinite Atonement and literal Resurrection.

Off to a slow start this morning so I took some aspirin and then felt better but experienced some nausea so I had to eat something. It's a vicious cycle, but I didn't let it get me down so I was able to accomplish some worthwhile goals. I finished two blog posts and stripped the rest of the wax off the floor. I also indexed and walked.

James is ordering supplies and concrete for the Konkle job. He was able to get a better price on concrete than from Desert Ready Mix and also they can deliver sooner. He went to get the mail today, and surprisingly we had none, but he mailed my Amazon merchant fulfilled order for the book, "Buddha is Hiding" which will be delivered to someone in San Antonio, Texas.

I fixed a taco casserole for dinner. It's a new recipe and James loved it. I said it was very similar to my taco soup recipe only it wasn't as soupy. He said he liked it better. Maybe it was the crushed Nacho Dorito chips that make the crust.

I should have been filling out the 15 pages I have to take to Sonoran Spine on Monday, but instead I indexed. My February total is now at 750.

I watched an older Hallmark movie about a reporter who goes on assignment to a wilderness resort where they do "glamping." Glamping is "glamorous camping." The tent has a real bed, bathroom facilities, electricity, running water, and a wood-burning stove. Also there is tent service where you meals are delivered like they are in a hotel with room service. Now that's my kind of camping. The movie was filmed in British Columbia and I guess there are several resorts that actually do "glamping."

Restoration Proclamation
P6 S1
We declare that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, organized on April 6, 1830, is Christ's New Testament Church restored.

Today is my brother Harold's 71st birthday. I gave him a call this morning to wish him a Happy Birthday and ended up being invited to his birthday dinner this evening at Licano's. This means we will be making two trips into town today because we are going in this morning to get the oil changed in James's truck and to pick up my x-rays and tramadol.

James left in his truck because he was going to try and get it washed before taking it to Jiffy Lube. I stopped by the Hunsaker's to pick up dishes from the meal I took to the Howard's last Saturday and had an interesting visit with Alicia. She is concerned that people are taking things from the Howard's house because she has received a report from their granddaughter Cassie. She told Cassie to call the sheriff, even though the people taking items are family. Also, Alicia does not think Jean has been tested for Covid. She thinks a family member who does not want Jean's daughter Kathy to come from Illinois told everyone Jean had it when they found out Tom had it so Kathy would not come. This makes me sad because I know how much Jean was looking forward to Kathy's visit. I am concerned that because of all of the people at Jean's house that she is not getting the individual attention she needs. I need to call and talk to her.

I also stopped at the post office where a book from Paul to James arrived and our new culinary mystery, "Fortune Cookie" arrived.

James called me and said Jiffy Lube went up on their prices and wanted around $150 to do his truck so he went to Walmart. Walmart charged him $66 plus three extra quarts of oil because his truck takes that much more than most cars/trucks.

I stopped and picked up my x-rays and then went on to Walmart where James had picked up my tramadol and picked out three birthday cards, one for Harold, Stacy, and Trina. I had texted James my entire list, which wasn't too long, but these are the only things he saw so I went around the store and got the other items on my list.

When we were finished shopping James's truck still wasn't done so we checked out and went over to Panda for some lunch. I asked if we could eat inside but one of the Chinese girls gave me a stern look and shook her head no. We both got chow mien noodles. I got orange chicken and chicken with green beans. James got sesame chicken and teriyaki chicken. We ate outside in the car. I left and James went back in to wait for his truck. He got some brownies and ice cream in case we have "Come Follow Me" at our house on Sunday.

As I got closer to home I realized that James had the garage door opener in the truck and I was not going to be able to get in the house. For some reason I don't have a key to the front door on my key chain. I parked in the driveway and fell asleep. When I woke up James had already been in the house. He carried the rest of the groceries in while I staggered in still half asleep. I did manage to get everything put away without too much trouble.

I walked over 8,000 steps before leaving for Harold's birthday dinner at 5:45. The dinner was at Licano's. Vickie had made reservations for 14 people. We had to have two tables because they will only do tables for up to ten people. At one table there was Kaitlynn, Madison and two of their friends who know Harold. Quentin and Monte came and they sat at that table. Monte called it the "kids" table. At the other table was Brian, Harold, Vickie, Me, James, Denise, and Dennis. James ordered the green chili toastado with beef. Harold, Vickie, Dennis and I ordered the Southwest chicken, which is a chicken breast smothered in cheese and green chili sauce. It was quite tasty but my chicken was way over cooked. I had to take about half of my home.

Happy Birthday Harold!

'Eyes to See'
Sister Michelle Craig
First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency
As with all gifts the Father so willingly offers, seeing deeply requires us to ask Him - and then act. Ask to see others as He does - as His true sons and daughters with infinite and divine potential. Then act by loving, serving, and affirming their worth and potential as prompted. As this becomes the pattern of our lives, we will find ourselves becoming "true followers of . . . Jesus Christ."
Others will be able to trust our hearts with theirs. And in this pattern we will also discover our own true identity and purpose.

Restoration Proclamation
P5 S4
As a companion scripture to the Bible, the Book of Mormon testifies that all human beings are sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven, that He has a divine plan for our lives, and that His Son, Jesus Christ, speaks today as well as in days of old.

I have a bad pain this morning in my sciatic nerve. I took tramadol and food at 4 a.m. It was still hurting when I started to blog at 6 a.m.
Between four and six I slept and then sat on my heating pad and listened to an article from the Ensign. I like this statement from the article I read in the Ensign:
Forgiveness is not earned, it is only received as a gift from the Savior.

We are still praying that our friend Tom will be able to get off the ventilator the hospital has him on and come home. His vital signs are strong but he refuses to wear an oxygen mask so that's why he is on the ventilator.

As James was getting ready to go to the valley I was sitting at my computer in the bedroom working on my blog. I had my day all planned out. This afternoon I was going grocery shopping. As I thought about going to the Show Low Walmart I got a funny feeling in my stomach. I thought about all of the nice grocery stores in the Chandler/Gilbert area and made the decision to go with James. He told me he would make sure I got to go grocery shopping. It took me about 15 minutes to get ready to go. Such a simple thing made James so happy! We left in the truck around 7:30 a.m. pulling the trailer with the Cat on it. We stopped at the Burger King in Show Low for our croissant breakfast sandwiches. James got ham and I got bacon.

Of course if it's James's choice which way we go we are going to go through Salt River Canyon and Globe. We listened to Brother Halverson and when we got to the canyon I took a little nap.

The gas in Show Low is around $2.43 a gallon. In Globe it was $2.19, so we filled up. When we got to the valley we went straight to Konkle's on Mai Lane off Ocotillo and 156th street, which is right next to Perry High School. This is the high school that Sheri wanted Evan to go to but Joshua insists on going to Chandler so I guess that's where they are both going.

James parked the truck in the back of the house and unloaded the Cat and unhitched the trailer from the truck. It's lunch time so we headed to Olive Garden since we still have lots of Olive Garden gift cards.
This time we went to the one on Gilbert and Germann and they had James's chicken marsala, which he ordered. I got the same thing I did the other day with Sheri, soup, salad and breadsticks with the chicken gnocchi soup. I also ordered one of their mini desserts, strawberries, whipped cream and white cake. Very tiny but just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.

James had a meeting with Armando back at the job. He dropped me off at the Fry's on Gilbert and Ocotillo before meeting Armando. Oh how I love shopping at a nice store with a full produce department!
I have three main meal recipes to fix this week and that is what I focused on. I also have two salads I am fixing. Funny how I shopped for the perishable food first and then forgot some of my non-food items.

James arrived before I was finished and began checking out while I went to grab a couple of more items. He went through the self-checkout but one of the clerk's must have been bored because she came over and started checking and bagging for him. I needed to use the restroom which was clear down on the other side of the store by Starbuck's. (Is Starbuck's in every grocery store?) I was not even tempted to buy a pink drink because I knew I was going to ask James to take me to Swig's to get one and theirs don't have caffeine.

When we were loading the groceries in the truck I realized I didn't have my phone. James called it and the information came up on his truck's bluetooth, but still no phone. I realized I had been carrying it in the back pocket of my pants and I may have lost it in the bathroom stall. I hurried back into the store, this time I forgot my mask so I put my hand over my mouth. Luckily I didn't get caught and sure enough, there on the floor in the bathroom stall was my phone. What a relief!

I guided James to Swig's drive-thru on Market Street. I was tempted to buy one of their delicious sugar cookies, but I figured the drink was enough. It was strawberry and coconut, cost $3.39 for a large and we should have got two because James loved it as much as I did.

Since we were closer to Highway 60 than the 202 I told James we could go home through Globe even though he had said we would go through Payson. Today in the valley it was around 80 degrees. I guess it was around 60 at home although it did rain some. It's always nice to be home and of course Luna was waiting to be fed. That's the first thing James did.

I walked and watched a movie while James indexed before going to bed.  Oh, I forgot one thing, Becca and Tim had a baby girl today. They named her Alice. When James called to congratulate Gail he said it was his 21st grandchild. We have 22 and 1 great so he's getting close.
