James fixed one of his wonderful egg, potato, onion, cheese and green chili concoctions for breakfast.  It was delicious!

I posted three days from early September on my blog and then indexed 25 names.  James went to the post office by himself.  He wanted to go into Show Low and do some measuring at Horne's but I talked him into waiting until tomorrow when LaCasita is open.  They are closed on Mondays.

I watched Project Runway finale.  My girl Dom won!

I indexed another 25 names for family search while watching The Mentalist, that way I don't feel so guilty for watching it.  While doing this I get a call from the elders in our ward.  They were calling to remind me of our dinner appointment at 5pm.  This was at 3:30.  Oh dear, I had forgotten!  I jumped up, prepared some chili, put a cake and some cornbrean in the oven while James made a salad.

It was a casual dinner but we so enjoyed the company of Elder Boyer and Elder Bon.  They left us with a challenge and gave each of us a card that says:  "Would you be willing to listen to a brief presentation about __________________(Jesus Christ, my religion, the Book of Mormon, etc.).  We are to give it to someone who fills out their personal information then gives it back to us and we give it to the missionaries.

I am so sorry I didn't get a picture of the Elders!

I got up this morning and colored my hair because yesterday James told me he saw lots of gray.  I should have taken my shower before James took his bath because he used most of the hot water.

We got a text from Presidential Realty today.  The buyer wants to reduce the price by $100,000.  No thank you Layne Peterson from Silver Creek Investment, we will pass.  It is very discouraging!

Today is Lannie Gillespie's birthday and I had a gift for her but I forgot to bring it.  James was coming later so I called and asked him to bring it.  He did, but he dropped the card.  He goes home to get it before going to Show Low to visit the Country Club Manor Elder's Quorum.  I do appreciate him.  Lannie is such a dear friend and I am so grateful to be her visiting teacher

The Pete and Donna Stock family speak in our sacrament meeting.  It is really to say hello and then goodbye.  Donna and the kids have been in our ward for about a month but now they are moving back to Show Low to be with their dad and husband.

In Sunday School we talked about the importance and blessing of having a prophet of God lead the Church.

In Young Women's Diana Curtis gave a lesson on the attributes of Christ.  I think this lesson saved me.  I really needed it today.  Some of the attributes of Christ are: Faith, hope, charity and love, virtue, knowledge, patience, humility, diligence, and obedience.  Here is what it says about patience in the Preach My Gospel manual on p. 120:  "Patience is the capacity to endure delay, trouble, opposition, or suffering without becoming angry, frustrated, or anxious.  It is the ability to do God's will and accept His timing.  When you are patient, you hold up under pressure and are able to face adversity calmly and hopefully.  Patience is related to hope and faith - you must wait for the Lord's promised blessings to be fulfilled.  You need patience in your everyday experiences and relationships, especially with your companion.  You must be patient with all people, yourself included, as you work to overcome faults and weaknesses."

I had my Burger House green chili burro for lunch.  When James got home I made him a grilled tuna and cheese sandwich with tomato soup.  He ate both of his burros yesterday.

James rests while I clean before our home teachers come.  When Collin and Chuck, our home teachers get here after the message, we visit about choosing a new fire chief for Vernon, James's leg, and my arthritis.

This morning I had breakfast at Burger King.  I worked for a short time and then I went to Drea Boles's baby shower at Christy Wanlass's.  I said hi to Christy, who gave me a hug, Adrienne, and Tammy Wilson.  Drea, Jason and Benjamin all came to the shower.
The food was great.  There were three breakfast casseroles, muffins, fruit and water.  Sheri and I contributed to the group gift which I believe was a baby stroller.  It was fun to visit with many of my friends from Chandler.  I saw Jackie Hall, Karen Schneider, Judy Pargeter and Melanie Arntsen.  Mealnie is now the stake Relief Society president.  She was a ward president when I was the stake Relief Society president.  I also visited with Collee Tolman Geiger and Diana Dowdle.  Diana is the ward Young Women's president and so we talked about young women.

Kim and Brian picked me up around 11.  They, along with Joe, help James and I load the truck.  Once the truck is loaded we leave for home.  James talks me into going the Globe way so we can stop at Burger House.  I get a bean burro and a green chili burro.  I eat the bean burro and save the green burro for tomorrow.  Once we get home and unload the truck we settle down to relax and watch some TV.  I am so tired, I fall asleep watching a Hallmark movie.

Sheri, Ian, Kim, and Brian are a part of a dining out club.  Tonight they went to the Welcome Diner in Phoenix:

Here is a picture of our home in Chandler.
I am sad about the dead branches on the tree
and the dead spots on the lawn.

We made a breakfast run to McDonald's to get me some oatmeal.

I worked downstairs for awhile this morning and then went to lunch with Karen Schneider and Charlotte Mattice for Charlotte's birthday.  We got to Firebirds and have what we always have, sourdough bread, coconut shrimp with mango coleslaw and a chocolate sundae for dessert.  Charlotte thought she was 74 but I reminded her she was 10 years older than me and that would make her 75.

This afternoon Darrel came to help us haul things out of the basement.  The kids go to Sheri's.  We start in the years supply room.  We find salt from Smitty's dated in 1989.  Paul also helped us as today is his day off from work.  We are overwhelmed by all that needs to be done.  We are hardly making a dent.

I went to Sam's Club to get us some steak to try.  I got fillets and New York strip steaks.  James and Paul cooked them.  I am sorry that Darrel had to leave before the steaks were done. Both type of steaks were delicious but of course the fillets are too expensive.  I think these New York strip steaks is what we will use for our young women's dinner.

This evening we watched Master Chef Jr.  These kids are amazing.  The youngest is 9 and the oldest is 13.

We left for the valley around 9:30 this morning in the truck, with James driving.  We stopped at Arby's in Payson for lunch and I had a most delicious bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.  We arrived in Chandler around 1:30.

James had a meeting with Zaki and gave him a Book of Mormon.  Lloyd was there fixing James's powered concrete finisher.

Stacy was very friendly and visited with us awhile.  She told us about Dallin choosing to move out because he didn't want to follow the rules.  That is so sad to me.  He is staying at his friend Mario's house and he is definitely still seeing Sarah who is not a good influence.  We will pray for him and I will try to figure out a way to reach out to him.

I went shopping this afternoon with Sheri, Max and Evan to get a Halloween costume for Evan.  He found a skeleton costume at Target and got a sword to go with it.  He has a costume party to go to tomorrow.

James and I had dinner at Jersey Mikes.  James now likes the Jersey Shore Favorite sandwich as much as I do!

James and I watched a movie with Stacy and Paul before going to bed.  It was called "Now You See Me" starring Mark Ruffalo.  We both enjoyed it.

I love this quote!

Lynda Tanner posted on Facebook that she had only four hours sleep in the past 48 hours.  James is her home teacher and her husband is dying of cancer.  I private messaged her and asked if we could bring her some food.  There was no immediate response from Lynda but a step sister from Arkansas named Anita thought food was a good idea, so I messaged Lynda to tell her we were bringing her lunch.  No response until we were in Vernon at the post office.  I got a message from Lynda saying she was going to the airport to pick up her sister-in-law so she wouldn't be home for lunch.  I offered dinner, but didn't get a response.  We love Lynda and wish her all the very best.

We came home and I made sugar cookies for the combined young men and young women activity tonight.  They are playing human foozball and I'm sure they will be hungry afterwards.  Besides, I was assigned to do it.
Pumpkin sugar cookies.
While we were watching the kids play foozball I overheard Collin DeWitt telling Analee Hunsaker that a rat had chewed the hose on his AC unit in his truck and it had cost him $500 to get it fixed.  I guess the same thing had happened to Analee.  One of the hazards of living in the country.  James says that's what happend to his tractor.
Here are some pictures of the ym/yw playing foozball:

I will end with this:
I love President Monson!

We made a trip to town and the post office but were disappointed when we did not receive any checks.  We stopped at the Wizard Stove store in Show Low and spoke with Jennifer.  James got a call from the buyer of our house.  He is doing an inspection today.  Good!  Back to the stoves, they are nice, but so expensive!

I dropped James off at physical therapy with Dr. Wiltbank.  I went to get gas and some steaks at Safeway and I price out some Boston cream cakes for dessert at our YW dinner on Nov. 13th.

When James comes out of therapy he is using his cane and doing so well!  Our next stop was Horne Auto Center to visit with Andrew Horne about some remodel work.  Finally we make it to LaCasita where I get my chicken enchilada with green sauce and some refried beans.  We even order two green chili burros to take home.

At Walmart Mary Swift checks me out and saves me from the long lines.

Back at home I watched the Disney Villian Cakes Challenge.  There was a Captain Hook, Crocodile cake which was the winnder, along with 101 Dalmatians, Ursula, Scar and Jafar.  Stacy watched too.

Some pictures I took today of some trees,
