Elder Jeffrey R. Holland observed, "Jesus clearly understood what many in our modern culture seem to forget: that there is a crucial difference between the commandment to forgive sin and the warning against condoning it."
Despite our present imperfections, however, we can still hope to attain "a name and standing," a place, in HIs Church and in the celestial world. After making it clear that He cannot excuse or wink at sin, the Lord assures us:
"Nevertheless, he that repents and does the commandments of the Lord shall be forgiven."
"And as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me."
Repentance and divine grace resolve the dilemma:

Prayer Day 2
To walk as He did, to learn how to best fill my days with His work and service of love.

Up at 4:37 a.m.  I changed my schedule today so I could get started early on the kitchen floor. I made quite a mess with the stripper. I used a spatula to scrape the former wax off the floor. It's back breaking, tedious, slow work. I did my 20/20 routine. Work 20 minutes, watch a show 20 minutes. This morning I watched "Baby in a Manger." I really liked it.

Around lunch time I had some enchiladas and took a nap. James was at the dining room table working on a bid.

I am tired and discouraged because it is taking so long to do the kitchen floor. I wanted to do the hallway too but it was late and I wasn't feelin' it. I threw away some of the snack food I had been bingeing on. I watched another movie, "Our Christmas Journey" starring Holly Robinson Peete. This evening I did the 20/20 routine again, this time walking and blogging. I took a shower and was in bed by 9:40.

James and I are reading a new book together, "No Way Out."
I wrote a thank you note to Lois and Dawn today and a note to Ruth Gale letting her know I wanted to go to the temple and out to eat with her once a month.

James told me he loved me after we got in bed tonight.
