What Are Some of the Things That We Will Do If Our Souls Delight in the Scriptures?
Our desire to be part of the gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil will increase. It will be normal and natural for us to invite our family and friends to listen to the missionaries. We will be worthy, and we will have a current temple recommend in order to go to the temple as often as possible. We will work to find, prepare, and submit the names of our ancestors to the temple. We will be faithful in keeping the Sabbath day, attending church every Sunday to renew our covenants with the Lord as we participate worthily in taking the sacrament. We will resolve to remain on the covenant path, living by every word that proceeds forth from the mouth of God (see D&C 84:44).

"Worthiness Is Not Flawlessness"
Bradley R. Wilcox
Second Counselor in the Young Men General Presidency
You're not a hypocrite because you have a bad habit you are trying to break. You are a hypocrite if you hide it, lie about it, or try to convince yourself the Church has the problem for maintaining such high standards. Being honest about your actions and taking steps to move forward is not being a hypocrite. It is being a disciple.

Prayer Day 16

Up at 4 a.m. It rained during the night and it's still raining. I finished "Silent September" by Joyce Landorf about feeling God during intense pain. There is great insight in this book. I'm going to start Joyce's next book, "Monday Through Saturday" tomorrow.

I also listened to "Follow Him" where Dr. Jenet Erickson is the visiting guest. She is an expert in family life education and I very much enjoyed listening to her speak.

James and I left for town around 7 to get the oil changed. We also wanted to get the tires rotated but James was told he would have to make an appointment for that. I don't know why he didn't do it right then, but he didn't. James dropped me off so I could go shopping while he took the car in. I had my blue Disneyland umbrella which kept me dry.

On the way to town a guy passes us going about 90 MPH in a no passing zone with a car coming in the opposite direction. James laid on the horn. The guy stuck his arm and finger out the window at us. I told James: "This is why the 60 is so unsafe. People do this all the time."

After our shopping trip we are both shocked by how much we spent. James vows he's not going to get Slimfast shakes anymore. He has said this before, but he loves them so much he always goes back or I go back for him by buying them. I also bought a revolving cake plate which makes frosting a cake so much easier. It was $10.

I did not sleep well last night so I am tired. When I am tired I get a little grouchy. In spite of my tiredness I manage to vacuum and dust in the family room and living room. I am a little "grouchy" when I see the mess James has left on the hearth from building a fire last night. I fixed cheese crisps and a salad for lunch and I blogged a day and a half.

Dawn called today to see when we were coming down. I apologized to her and told her we had been down on the 9th and 10th. I said seeing her Mom should be our most important priority and it wouldn't happen again. Lois has a gift for James for his birthday. I also told her that Dave thinks Laura has Covid because she is very sick. Dave has had it and so have Cathi and Terry. Laura is being tested tomorrow and we will know for sure.

Before I close this post today I would like to briefly outline some of the teachings President Nelson he has taught since becoming the Prophet in January 2018.
