Jesus Christ, Resurrection
2 Nephi 25:13
Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchre for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God. Wherefore, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day and my heart doth magnify his holy name.

Acting is another essential key to becoming a better disciple of Jesus Christ. As we act, He will guide and direct us along the way. I am sure that Nephi was seeking guidance from the Lord to know how to get the brass plates from Laban, yet he and his brothers tried twice without success. But they were acting, and the Lord was directing them along the way. Finally, Nephi was successful the third time. He recalled, "I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do."
This is how the Lord works as we put forth effort and act, even when we do not have a clear understanding of what needs to be done. The Lord told Nephi what to do: go and get the plates. But He did not tell Nephi how to do it. He left it to Nephi to figure out and seek the Lord's help - and this is often how the Lord works in our lives. As we act in faith, the Lord guides and directs us.

Prayer Day 6

Why is it important to have a soft heart?

We were on time this morning to preparation meeting at the Snowflake temple. The Seaman's are presiding today. I am so glad because I love them the most, especially Sister Kim Seaman. She is a kindred spirit and a voice from the past.

Death is all around us here in the temple as well as in the real world. There was a notice on one of the tables in the break room about the funeral for Brother Dan Mills. He was a stake president here in Snowflake and the younger brother of Tricia Mills Reidhead and Dianne Mills Reynold, two friends of ours from high school.

I happened to see Brother Jones from Joseph City working on our shift. I spoke to him and ask him if his wife was here. He looked at me and said, "She passed away in November 2020." I was so surprised. We worked with her before Covid and she also, was a former classmate at Snowflake High School. Her name: Garnett Petersen Jones. She will be missed. I had missed her before today but thought perhaps she had been released as a temple worker. I guess she has.

I also spoke with Sister Gentry who has been coming to work on our shift but I haven't seen her husband in awhile. She said he is suffering with Bells Palsy. I told her we would pray for him.

My schedule today was exactly the same as the last time I worked here. First, the recommend desk with Sister Cochran. Next, at the top of the stairs as a greeter, then to initiatory before taking a break. After break I was the 2nd follower for the 9:30 endowment session. My good friend Debbie was the 1st follower. She is Kim's bishops sister. I told her about visiting his ward and how he talked about growing up on a dairy with 7 brothers and sisters.

I worked in initiatory again, I'm glad because I love hearing those blessings promised to us if we are faithful, and then at 12:15 I was the veil coordinator. James was finished by noon so he had to wait almost an hour for me. Debbie had to wait for her husband the same amount of time because he worked at the veil in the same session I worked as veil director for the sisters.

I'm hungry on the way home so we stop at Sonic. James and I both got a burger and James also got a corndog. I didn't finish my burger. It just didn't taste very good. I'm still hungry thought. We went into Walmart in Show Low to pick up two of my prescriptions. I may have had a low blood sugar because I was craving something sweet. I bought a box of oatmeal cookies and two bavarian creme donuts. I also got a Coke Zero and a huge Hershey bar. James got a huge dark chocolate with almond Hershey bar and mine was plain milk chocolate. I am ashamed of myself. I must change my habits!

I only had 2,000 steps when we got home from the temple. James had more because he takes his phone with him when he works in the temple. I walked until about ten but I finally got my 10,000 steps. I also did a little blogging. We have to get up early tomorrow to leave for the valley by 5 a.m. James is ordaining Evan and Priest and their meetings start at 9.

Did I mention that James came home and cooked the turkey Brother DeWitt gave us. He cut it up and put it in Food Saver bags so
we could freeze it.
