Prophets have charge for the whole earth, not just for members of the Church. I can report from my own experience how personally and devotedly the First Presidency takes that charge. As needs grow, the First Presidency has charged us to increase our humanitarian outreach in a significant way. They are interested in the largest trends and the smallest details.

We are only have one hour of church today because of the Covid scare. This is by request of the stake president.

Pierce conducted sacrament meeting today. Brother Ed Miller was on the stand. He is a member of the high council. He is speaking to us today. One of the first things Pierce said was that he would be inviting some people to come up and bear their testimonies. "Barbara Klug, Karen Lambson, and Collin DeWitt." When the sacrament is over could you three please come up and bear your testimony.

When Sister Klug got up she mentioned how she had noticed that the three people called to bear their testimonies were all involved in family history so that's what she bore her testimony about. As I left to come up James whispered to me: "If it were me I would talk about the five points of a testimony. Thank you honey!

I bore my testimony using the five points we learned about when I taught Primary. I testify that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I feel the Spirit when I read from it. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and I know that Russell M. Nelson is our Prophet today. I said more, but these were the basics. When I was finished Collin came up and then Pierce bore his testimony. I wonder if it was Pierce who decided who was going to be asked to bear their testimony. I wonder why he chose whom he did.

Ed Miller is the stake high counselor over the Fort Apache indian branch. Brother Miller said there were three talks given to the high counselors that they could speak on: "The Love of God" by Elder Christofferson, "One Percent Better", by Elder Dunn, and "Worthiness is Not Flawlessness" by Brother Brad Wilcox.
Here are some notes that I took:
"Our Father and our Redeemer have blessed us with commandments, and in obeying Their commandments, we feel Their perfect love more fully and more profoundly."
-Elder D. Todd Christofferson

"When you feel like you have failed too many times to keep trying, remember Christ's Atonement and the grace it makes possible are real."
- Brad R. Wilcox

"Every effort to change we make - no matter how tiny it seems to us - just might make the biggest difference in our lives."
-Michael A. Dunn

After the meeting was over I went outside and got Rosie's gift out of the car. I gave it to her and she seemed very grateful. Later she texted me and said how much she loved it. It was a "Lead Kindly Light" calendar of the Savior.

When I got home I had a little something to eat. I then read from the second book Lorrain loaned me, "Silent September." Here is something I copied from the book:
"It dawned on me, slowly at first and then with more speed and clarity, that if I couldn't hear the music or the voice of God in this, the most silent of all my Septembers, then I would listen and look to the voices and the faces of others. To my surprise and joy, I began to see the Lord. There were moments of His mercy and glimpses of His grace even though He was still silent and I was still broken and unhealed."
- Joyce Landorf

Anthony called James and told him that was the best birthday cake he had ever had. He told James what a lucky guy he was. James said he knew.

James and Brother Peeler are inspiring me to do some indexing. They have high expectations although the directories are done and the work we have now goes very slowly.
