President Dallin H. Oaks
First Counselor in the First Presidency
President Spencer W. Kimball taught that "we do not go to Sabbath meetings to be entertained or even solely to be instructed. We go to worship the Lord. It is an individual responsibility. . . . If the service is a failure to you, you have failed. No one can worship for you; you must do your own waiting upon the Lord."

Prayer Day 4
Give me the faith to stretch for the Savior in the moments when the miracle seems unobtainable and let me believe in His promise of enabling strength beyond my own.

Up at 4:40. I was in bed for seven hours which does not mean I got seven hours of sleep.

I am so frustrated with the kitchen floor. I should have never tried to strip the wax off. If I don't get it all it dries in little clumps all over the floor. I work well past noon and it still has rough patches. I am exhausted and I still have the family room, living room to clean. Again, James pitches in to help. He cleans and sweeps over by the fireplace. I finally give up on getting the kitchen/dining room floor any better. I dust and vacuum the three area rugs in the family/living room. I vacuum the wood floor and use some floor cleaner to get the spots off. It looks pretty amazing.

I told James to turn the oven on to 400 for the biscuits. This was my first mistake, it should have been 350. I let them cook for 18 minutes because I was in getting ready for Pierce to come. James took them out after 16 minutes and they were black on the bottom. How embarrassing. To top things off, James made the gravy too thick. Thank goodness for the freshly squeezed orange juice, it saved the night!

After we were finished eating I invited Pierce to stay and play Five Crowns. He said he liked to play games but he needed to go home and hitch his trailer to his pickup. He is leaving early in the morning for the valley to take Brother Lauritzen down to pick up a container he bought. The container is to set up all of his electric trains in. James asked if he needed any help and he said yes. While James was in the bathroom brushing his teeth and getting his jacket, I visited with Pierce in the entryway. I set up a temple recommend interview with him for next Tuesday at six o'clock. He said he would come out here. He would do it tonight but he didn't bring his phone with him. All of the interviews are done online now.

When James got back from helping Pierce he cleaned the kitchen while I walked and blogged. We listened to our book, "No Way Out." We only have two more chapters left.

I asked Sister DeWitt to teach Relief Society on the 23rd and she said she would be happy to.

After going to bed James was rubbing my feet when I told him we needed a do over with Pierce. He agreed. Next Thursday it is.

We are cleaning the church building tomorrow with the Allen's.
