Straying from the Path
Despite the astonishing heavenly interventions, visitations, rescues, and miraculous victories the children of Israel witnessed during the lifetimes of Moses and Joshua, within a generation the people had abandoned the Way and began walking according to their own desires. And, of course, it did not take long before they paid the price for that behavior.
Sometimes this falling away takes generations. Sometimes it happens in a matter of years or even months. But we are all susceptible. No matter how strong our spiritual experiences have been in the past, as human beings we tend to wander. That has been the pattern from the days of Adam until now.

I like this quote from the book, "Monday Through Saturday":
"Love remembers but doesn't keep score"
James was in the kitchen and I was in the bedroom this morning. He yelled at me, "Karen, come here, quick!" At first I thought something had happened to him but then I realized he didn't sound stressed. When I got to the kitchen he pointed out the window and there they were, five mule deer, one buck and four does. They look so small compared to the elk. They weren't there long and since James's phone is broken he was using mine to make a call so I couldn't take a picture. Seeing wildlife like this is one of the things we like most about living here.
BTW, I think the Amazing Cake tastes better the second day. I waited until after I had my Ka'chava cake before I had any.
James got his phone delivered yesterday, but he is having problems setting it up and Asurian, the insurance company he is dealing with, never called him back. I told him I thought he should go into town to Verizon which he finally did. Again, he wanted me to go with him but again I needed to stay home to get some things done.
He was back in a couple of hours. He got his phone fixed and he bought some noodles at Walmart so he could fix stirfry for dinner. I really like the fact that he has been cooking more lately. His stirfry had mushrooms, onions, and bell pepper along with noodles and some shrimp. It was really quite delicious.
I swept the dried mud out of the garage today. It is so much nicer when we go out to get into the car. I also finished "Give of the Stars". I tried to get another book on Audible but I guess I have to have points. I don't know, Audible is weird to me and I think I may cancel again.
Sheri said she ran in to Cathi and Terry this evening while she was walking her dogs. When she asked about Laura they said the main thing she complains about is how tired she is. I told her I remember feeling that way too. We are still worried about Laura until we are sure the antibodies they gave her are going to work.
I am frustrated with myself for more reasons than one. I guess it's time to go to bed. It's not even 9:00 yet.
Happy Anniversary!!
