"Simply Beautiful - Beautifully Simple"
Elder Gary E. Stevenson
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
It has been said that the gospel of Jesus Christ is "simply beautiful and beautifully simple." The world is not. It is complicated, complex, and filled with turmoil and strife. We are blessed as we exercise care not to allow complexity. so common in the world, to enter into the way we receive and practice the gospel.

Prayer 12

I watched and listened to Ben Wilcox, "Teaching with Power" to go along with this week's "Come Follow Me" lesson. Here are some of his teachings:

We had lots of sunshine today although the temperature was a little cool, from inside, it was a beautiful day!

Darrel and Trina were scheduled to come today. Lola was going to school because it was animal day and when she was finished, they were leaving and would arrive sometime this afternoon.

I got a text from Darrel this morning. This is what it said: "We won't be coming today because I have Covid." I told him how sorry I was and I hoped he got well quickly. He then said how sad the kids were and I said, "we are too."

We got a message from the stake president today regarding this Sunday meetings. He has asked that we only meet the first hour. This is to keep people who may be sick or afraid to come, who have a calling to teach, the ability to stay home without consequence.

I baked cakes today. One for Anthony, a German chocolate with Texas sheetcake frosting. James wanted to deliver it but Anthony did not answer so he did not go to his place.

It's a small cake which means there
was some leftover for us.
No snow left accept in our driveway where
it is slicker than glass.

I also baked a little cake for Tilday and some baby cakes for the rest of her family. I will be delivering her cake and gifts to her tomorrow as Cammy and the family was gone this afternoon.

In the bag: pink and gray soft yard for Tildy to crochet with.
Pink lotion, bodywash, and scrubber.

For lunch and dinner we had Brian's pasta fagoli and cake. James loves the Texas sheetcake frosting.

I texted Sister McCamy this afternoon about cleaning the church tomorrow. She said they would be out of town but she could go over and clean the building now. James met her at the church with the key and she and her kids went to work. When she finished she texted me and said they cleaned everything but I might want to go over in the morning and spot check what they had done. I thanked her and told her to have a great time at Bearizona with her family.

I then texted Tina Allen and we arranged to meet at the church at 8 a.m. I told her we could handle it and it wasn't necessary for them to come, especially since it was Steve's birthday, but she insisted. I asked her what kind of cake he liked and she said he likes everything and to fix my favorite. I told her the problem was I liked everything too and didn't really have a favorite. I made a yellow cake with the Texas sheetcake fudge-like frosting. I baked the cake this evening and then will get up early in the morning to frost it.

I did lots of walking this evening. James and I listened to "A Blind Eye" about a girl from England who was kidnapped and taken to the U.S. so an eye doctor could do experimental surgery on her eyes. She climbs in to Christian's truck and he becomes her protector. Christian is a 17 year old boy who has issues of his own. He tried to commit suicide because his mother is dead and he thinks his father hates him because he totally ignores him.

I also read from "The Giver of Stars."

A most delicious snack!

Ruby's first time but not her last.
