 'We Talk of Christ'
Elder Neil L. Andersen
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
During this period of uncertainty, I have felt an unusual gratitude fro my sure and certain knowledge that Jesus is the Christ. Have you felt that way? There are difficulties that weigh upon each of us, but always before us is He who humbly declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." While we endure a season of physically distancing ourselves from others, we need never endure a season of spiritually distancing ourselves from Him who lovingly calls to us, "Come unto me."

Restoration Proclamation
P9 S3
We testify that those who prayerfully study the message of the Restoration and act in faith will be blessed to gain their own witness of its divinity and of its purpose to prepare the world for the promised Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

James and I actually sat together during church today. He told Chuck he could not be an usher because he had no voice to greet people. We sat in front by the Halcomb's.

Lannie Gillespie was the first speaker today. She spoke on Russell M. Nelson's talk, "Let God Prevail." Here are some notes I took:

With the help of two Hebrew scholars, I learned that one of the Hebraic meanings of the world Israel is "let God prevail." Thus the very name of Israel refers to a person who is willing to let God prevail in his or her life. That concept stirs my soul!
With the Hebraic definition of Israel in mind, we find that the gathering of Israel takes on added meaning. The Lord is gathering those who are willing to let God prevail in their lives. The Lord is gathering those who will choose to let God be the most important influence in the lives.
The gospel net to gather scattered Israel is expansive. There is room for each person who will fully embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each convert becomes one of God's covenant children, whether by birth or by adoption. Each becomes a full heir to all that God has promised the faithful children of Israel.
As you study your scriptures during the next six months, I encourage you to make a list of all that the Lord has promised He will do for covenant Israel. I think you will be astounded! Ponder these promises. Talk about them with your family and friends. They live and watch for these promises to be fulfilled in your own life.

Zemira was the youth speaker but he had forgotten he was supposed to speak so he winged it. He did talk about repentance and used the analogy of scattering the feathers from a pillow and trying to pick them all up. He said that as we repent the Lord will help us.

Jared, Kacey, Molly, and Charlie are on their way to Arizona. They stopped in El Paso for a break.

When they got in to Arizona and the valley they went straight to Lois's house. They are staying at Darrel and Trina's and Rowan has a cough and congestion. They didn't want to be exposed to that and then take it to Lois so they went to her house first.

I love looking at Charlie's face and then
at Lois's.

James went on a drive this afternoon. He invited me to go with him but I knew he was going up on the mountain to look for elk and I didn't feel like riding on bumpy roads so I stayed home. He said he saw over 100 elk but only one or two bulls. His hunt is next week and he is a little stressed that he hasn't had more time to go scouting.

The Wilhelm brothers, Andy and Zemira delivered the pies we ordered from them in support of their wrestling team. We have a cherry, apple, lemon meringue, and French silk. We also got the Crane's pecan pie delivered here because their gate was closed. James was anxious to try the lemon meringue pie so we had a slice while watching "The Angel Tree."

Kim and Brian did their traditional Thanksgiving dinner for Joe, and his cousins. They are still planning on coming here for Thanksgiving but Kim has had some dizzy spells so they are doing some treatments this week. Instead of coming on Monday they will come on Wednesday. We did not have our "Come Follow Me" discussion via Zoom because Kim and Brian were busy hosting their dinner and Jared and Kacey were traveling and then visiting Lois.
